OKAY i finished season 2 and GOD i love this season so much, i’m reminded why i got so into it when it came out

i feel so much heartbreak watching it i am not ready for season 3😭😭

i feel like i had so many different thoughts compared to when i watched it the first time and i picked up on different things, idek what to say…

UGH gi-hun taking the guns and killing all the guards was definitely a mistake but also i understand what he was trying to do😭😭😭poor gi-hun he doesn’t understand that this shit goes so much deeper than what he sees rn

god jung-bae dying is my final straw too, i’d kms

AND SE-MI AND MIN-SU WAAAAA i love them sm i feel so bad for them😭 they’re some of my favs from this season

the scene where yong-sik and his mom come back together after he gets dragged away in mingle makes me tear up everytime, his sobbing sounds so real

on that note mingle is my favourite game in the whole series, i feel the same way about mingle that i do about the glass bridge, i love the way it was shot and the set is so gorgeous, watching that scene has me on the edge of my seat the entire time, i love it, maybe i’ll make a separate post talking about mingle

the rebellion scene has me on edge the whole time too, i feel like i’m on the verge of sobbing during all of it

inho was pissing me off the whole time but he ate with that one line, “are you saying we make a small sacrifice for the greater good?”

i feel so bad for dae-ho too but that scene was so frustrating, would it have even mattered tho if he got there with the ammo? inho probably would have still found a way to stop the rebellion, and again even if gi-hun killed everyone in that building the games would still continue wherever else, rahhhhh everything’s complicated

i really like captain park’s character as well, i was so gagged the first time i watched and realized he was also apart of everything like how did i not realize it soonerrrr

UGH AND THE FUCKING RUSSIAN ROULETTE SCENE AHHHHHHHHHHHHH i replayed that shit probably 10 times, love that scene to my core as well, the recruiter is such an interesting character too, i’m glad we got to learn more about him, i love and hate him even more 🙏🙏

and i love learning about the guards too, getting to see No-eul’s perspective is v interesting

i find it super super interesting how gihun is just a guy, and how despite this, he’s trying so so hard to go against the system that reflects the wider world in the way it’s designed to oppress the working class.

i love love love the fact that gihun is just a guy who is very flawed and yet is so very good. goodness radiates off of him in every action and inaction and reaction.

I feel like some of you guys think "bad art" is like someone gluing rhinestones to a water melon, or a guy who made his own armchair out of Ohio license plates, or a trashy romance novel where someone says "the blue-eyed one kissed the brown-eyed one," when in reality bad art is a 1000000 Billion Dollar movie where none of the workers got paid and every single creative decision was market tested to see how lucrative of a profit it could foreseeably make to wow shareholders.

finished the first season… i wish i was intelligent enough to articulate my thoughts, but for now, nothing will ever top the first fucking season of squid game, it’s amazing.

it was such a good show for the time it came out, and with season 2 & 3 coming out now, the message always has perfect timing.

billionaires watching people and their family’s being torn apart and not giving a single shit, sounds like something i’ve heard before.

this show makes me angry in the best way, i will never get over it.

watching it again really reminded me why so many people around the world connected with the show so heavily. Politically charged media is so incredibly important, it always has been, but especially today, stay fucking angry.

Headcanons for Sangihun (High school edition)

Gi-hun was the class clown who got in trouble a lot for yapping and messing around in class. But he still got on well with his teachers, he just needed reminders that he couldn't get away with being disruption in class.

Him and Sang-woo are in the same class because of how smart Sang-woo was that he skipped a grade.

Sang-woo was a quiet kid who only wanted to focus on school work. But he would get dragged out of his bedroom by Gi-hun at times, to go to parties, and hangouts with him. He puts up with these outings to be with Gi-hun.

If he had to be social, he prefers to be alone with Gi-hun. He hates how Gi-hun would talk to everyone, and it makes him feel jealous that the attention is not solo on him.

Sang-woo's first kiss 💋 had been with Gi-hun during a game of spinning the bottle, and that man had never let it go since then. He still thinks about it in his adult years.

Gi-hun had average grades, I think he could be a high achiever as Sang-woo but chose to have fun instead of forcing himself to study.

He thrived more in theatre and performances. He would play the comedic roles and sometimes be one of the leading actors. Sang-woo would work backstage or attend the performances that Gi-hun was in for support.

Gi-hun was the kid who was friends with anyone and stood up to bullies even when he knew he couldn't win in a fight with them.

Sang-woo would gravitate to the smart and quiet kids. He didn't form friendships as easily as Gi-hun, so he never made close friends in that group. He felt he only needed Gi-hun.

Gi-hun had given his favourite jacket to Sang-woo one day when it was pouring down with rain just to make sure he didn't get sick. Sang-woo never returned the jacket, he would wear it till he couldn't fit it anymore and kept it in his closest for years to come. Gi-hun never asked for the jacket back, he thought Sang-woo looked cute every time he wore it, so he never said anything about it.

Sang-woo left chocolates in Gi-hun's desk for valentines day every year (he would make sure the classroom was empty before putting the chocolates in their place and take away any other chocolates that people had left there).

Gi hun would leave notes for Sang-woo in his books to give support during exam season. Sang-woo keeps the notes under his bed in a dedicated shoe box. When he's feeling down, he would go through it and read every note till he felt better.

Sang-woo doesn't like cats, but when he was helping his mother at the fish market, he would save the undesirable leftovers for Gi-hun, and they both go feed the cats around the neighbourhood together.

Gi-hun had developed a crush on Sang-woo during his last year of high school when he came from summer break, in which he visited family relatives with his mother, so he hadn't seen him since then. It took his breath away at how much Sang-woo had changed during this time, and it got him questioning his sexaul identity.

Gi-hun enjoys listening to Sang-woo talk, even when it was stuff that he couldn't understand. He enjoyed how passionate Sang-woo would get during his talks.
