I don’t think we talk enough about how much Angel cares about Charlie.

Angel was willing to have sex with Alastor (someone he thinks is creepy) on camera to advertise the hotel. For free.

He was willing to do a job he hates with someone he’s not too fond of. Also most likely knowing he’d incur Val’s wrath for having sex on camera for someone that’s not him.

For free.

To make her happy.

Yeah he was using it to talk about how hot he is and how good he is at his job. But he was also being completely genuine. If Charlie took him up on it, he would have done it.

stop trying to make your writing “timeless”

Use slang in your books set in current times, use grammatical incorrect wording in your dialogue, let the time your in influence the way you write.

why?

because doing this let’s you capture a moment in time. Think about all the old books you’ve read that have helped you understand a period of time better, wether it be through the use of old slang, referring to things from the period as though their just known facts, cultural beliefs, political views, and so much more.

we are living in a period that WILL be in the history books in the future. We are living through extremely important history. Capture that history, use your writing to take a snapshot of the now for future generations. Let the time you live in change you writing.

preserve the now for the future in your own little way.

AITA for ripping down my roommates Ace pride flag?

I (M, minor) an not a fan of the huge pride flag my roommate has put up in the room. It takes up so much space and the command strips (which I also hate) on the back may be damaging the wall. AITA for trying take it down on several occasions?

I've seen a lot of people say they don't like the idea of Husk gambling for Angel's soul because it "takes away his autonomy" in getting out of his situation.

And to be completely honest, as someone who has been in a similar position— having to leave an INCREDIBLY dangerous and abusive individual: sometimes another person intervening is the only way you can do that with some degree of safety.

Everyone acts like Husk would go behind Angel's back and do this, when that man would obviously talk to him before making any moves that could put him in a worse position than he's already in.

People act like he'd keep Angel's soul, when he'd tear that contract to shreds in Valentino's face as soon as it's his.

This isn't about Husk being his savior: it's about the fact that Angel has decided its time to leave, and this is his way out.

Because Angel can't do this by himself. And a support system, a place he can stay, can only do so much when your life is on the line.

In real life the genuine solution to keeping yourself safe from someone like Valentino, who would kill you without a second thought, is to move to a place where he can never find you. To move not only out of town, leaving everything behind, but out of state entirely when possible.

In hell, where souls can be bound by contracts, all it takes is someone who can get Val to agree to a gamble. Someone who can get him to bet not only Angel's soul, but his ability to contact him.

Husk is the one with the power to create that bargain, just as the District Attorney can put out a restraining order and help pay for you to move somewhere where they can't find you.

finally got around to posting this but here’s sir pentious and niffty!

I’m gonna be honest I hate these designs A TINY BIT. I love most aspects of the designs but things will be changed in the future lol anyway onto character stuff

so niffty first. She has much more of a steam punk look, the eyes of the hat are swapped in amount. (pen has one eye on his hat and niffty has two in this version) I didn’t put this in the ref sheet but her version of the egg boys are cute roaches (yes I will do my damndest to make them cute)

and with sir pentious I just wanted him to look like a butler or cleaner. I think did good with that but I wish I had switched their hair lengths :/ he obviously has apple buttons to show he’s owned by Charlie suddenly. She likes having a little something on them that reminds them that they’re “her’s”. Over all he’s just a silly over active guy who’s a little crazy.

I’m definitely going elaborate on Charlie’s character cuz fuck she’s fun to write.

I’m definitely changing things as I move forward but that will only be seen in the future <3
