I've heard about kind characters and how it often works out for them or draws people to them but what about when that kindness becomes a flaw.

what about kind people who have no boundaries and can't say no to people, often getting taken advantage of. the kind character that can't have shit because they aren't ambitious enough to claim something for themselves. giving and giving until they run dry and still they can't bear to think about making anyone else deal with their burnout.

the kind person who doesn't bother anyone and keeps to themselves, but they end up alone because no one knew them well enough to let them take up emotional real estate. Forgotten, because they never let themselves be memorable. kindness as a fault.

when it stops being kindness, and just becomes naïvety and seclusion.

a funny thing about having a Problematic Blorbo is that you'll periodically come across a post along the lines of "um let's not forget that [Blorbo] is a bad person..." listing their various crimes, and if you have a modicum of intellectual honesty you find yourself nodding along and saying yeah it's true... but it's the greyness of their character that makes them so compelling... At the same time though you have a little Saul Goodman in your ear going "your honor in their defense: who cares like omfgggg who caresssssss like come onnnnnn"
