The Sour Legacy Challenge

Did I make a legacy challenge based on Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour? Yes, I did.

The overall guidelines are pretty loose here. Obviously there’s a lot to accomplish each generation, but I tried to make it so there is plenty of room for freedom too. And if you’re not feeling an aspiration or have a career you’ve been meaning to try - go ahead and switch it up if you think it makes sense! Just try to pick something that isn’t already in the challenge.

Go as wild as you desire with mods and lifespans and the like. Feel free to make this your own (just don’t repost this as your own, yah feel?).

Not So Berry Legacy Challenge

Do you like the rainbow? Do you like the idea of playing with berry Sims but hate berry Sims? Do you want to mess around with aspects of the game you’ve never used before? Boy, do I have the challenge for you!

Welcome to the Not So Berry Legacy Challenge, a ten generation legacy with a focus on bright colors and new experiences.

Basic Rules:

Each heir must represent the color of the generation (i.e. hair, makeup, clothing), but brightly colored skin is not necessary (these aren’t actually berry Sims, that’s the joke). Of course, this is optional but a big portion of the fun.

The colors of the spouses don’t matter as they aren’t part of the challenge. Unless otherwise stated you can do whatever you please with them.

Money cheats can be used, but not excessively. Suggestion: use freerealestate for your first home, but no cheats afterward.

You may live wherever you please unless something is specified in the rules of a generation.

Every generation is supposed to complete both the career and aspiration of the heir unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Keep the lifespan on normal.

We wanted to make something that forced us to play with parts of the game we’ve never explored before. Hopefully you’ll have fun too. I love the challenge and thought It’d be fun to alter it to the Sims 3! I made some changes but for the most part they’re just small things!

You never really fit into the world of Bridgeport- the people there seems too fake, boring. That’s why when you reached young adulthood you packed up and left for the town of Moonlight Falls. But alas, not all is what it seems in the quaint city. The days are cold and gloomy and the nights hold whispers of the supernatural. You swiftly find a mysterious lover whom you fall desperately in love with, though, that would not last. They were busy most nights (staying late at work they would always say) and you would be left alone. It was lonely in the house. And that’s when you met them.

Your heir must be human and live in Moonlight Falls.

Marry a vampire.

Have an affair with a werewolf.

Have three children, your decision who sired them (Vampire or Werewolf)

After your vampire lover finds out have them turn you.

Max the Charisma skill.

Heir must be sired by the Werewolf.

Your Vampire S/O must be in the business career.

You were always resented by your parents’ partner. They saw you as the mistake you often thought you were. You had dealt with the hatred in their eyes for your whole childhood until one day you just couldn’t take it. You packed up and left the dreary house that had haunted you for far too long. You moved in with your werewolf parent, your fellow kin. You thought your trouble had ended for you when in reality they had just begun.

Challenges:

Have at least one dog.

Move in with your Werewolf parent as a teen.

Have one night each week where your sim must go out and perform mean interactions on others.

Have a friendship with a ghost that then turns to romance.

Resurrect your ghost partner back from the dead using Ambrosia.

To make ambrosia you must max the cooking skill.

Max the the gardening skill.

Have as many children as you wish.

Heir must be a ghost.

Your parent would always tell you that you’re half werewolf half ghost but, honestly, you never saw your parent as a Ghost and frankly you think it’s a huge joke. So in your youth you began reading up on supernatural law and soon came across the allusive genie. Out of all the magical beings they held your gaze the most. Through the problematic vampire stage and even the unicorn stage, Genie’s always were the ones that intrigued you the most. With this you continued to travel the world in search of the allusive genie. You developed expensive tastes which soon you needed to support and you put your dream of the supernatural being on the backburner in favour of something else, politics.

Challenges:

Have at least 5 relationships in your lifetime.

Travel to all vacation worlds.

Have a home worth at least $75,000.

Find 3 magic lamps.

Have a baby with a Genie (May be summoned or created by yourself) and you may decide if your sim ends up with them.

Have children with a witch.

Have children until you have a girl (the heir), this child must be a witch.

Your parent was always the romantic, flirting around your whole childhood. You, on the other hand, couldn’t relate. You never had those childhood crushes, never enjoyed your first kiss, and never valued the romance that other people held so close to their heart. You found more solace in plants and nature. Your parent never understood so as soon as you could you left. You moved to Isla Paradiso to escape your overbearing parent and decided to live off the land. It was peaceful but it was missing something.

Challenges:

Have no legitimate children.

Adopt one child.

Live in Isla Paradiso..

Complete the Zombie master lifetime wish.

Max the Alchemy skill.

Have no romantic or sexual relationships with any sims. (Aromantic and asexual)

Max the gardening skill.

Only live off the land.

Your mother was the very definition of a helicopter parent. She always asked you how you were, made sure you got your school work done on time and never let you out after curfew. This was nice, you knew she cared about you but eventually it got tedious. You need to be able to leave, spread your wings and leave the coop. And that’s what you did; only you couldn’t move out alone. You had to move in with a roommate who had a certain affinity for water. They would spend hours upon hours in the bath and enjoyed the sea more than the land some days. You simply assured yourself that everyone had their thing.

Challenges:

Move from your family into your own house, then get a roommate.

This roommate is a mermaid, make one yourself or move in one of the mermaid townies.

Only make money by painting and publishing books.

Max the photography skill.

Get into a serious relationship before you tragically break up.

Get in a relationship with your roommate only after you become best friends.

Have at least one cat.

Have your child/children be a mermaid.

RANDOM SIM GENERATOR: TS4 EDITION (click here!)

I sometimes have trouble coming up with unique sims to populate my town as townies/NPCs for my main sims to interact with. The ‘Randomize Sim’ button almost always produces very odd and (to me) unusable sims, and let’s face it, I lack the imagination to come up with 20+ townies from scratch.

So I made a generator for that! This generator will produce very simplistic but helpful ideas for a sim upon the click of a button. It includes the basics (such as skin and eye color) and also 2 defining traits (the rest can be up to you) and 2 suggested favourite colours (for use in their clothing/makeup/etc). It also picks a defining feature of their face, so that you can have an idea of where to start on their face sculpting. I’ve found it immensely helpful already.

Here’s two examples of what it can generate:

Sul-sul! My initials are IY. My skin is light/tan, my hair is red and my eyes are hazel. People would say that my most defining feature is my big nose. My favourite colours are white and green. My most defining traits are Gloomy and Clumsy. Will you make me in Create-A-Sim?

Sul-sul! My initials are BG. My skin is medium/dark, my hair is brown and my eyes are blue. People would say that my most defining feature is my chubby cheeks. My favourite colours are teal and black. My most defining traits are Romantic and Bookworm. Will you make me in Create-A-Sim?

Some details/tips:

I have intentionally made alien skin/eyes and unnatural-coloured hair (listed as ‘a nonstandard color’) more rare than natural varieties. You are more likely to roll a realistic sim than an alien sim, this is simply my preference.

I have made unusual initials more rare than common initials. For example, ‘X’ will roll far less than most of the rest of the alphabet (but it’s not impossible!).

Most EP-specific traits have been omitted. And the ones that are there, if you don’t have the EP simply re-roll and use one of the newly-rolled traits. Of course, EP-specific traits can always be chosen by you on your own regardless of what the generator says!

Of course, these are just starting points and ideas for a sim! If you don’t like certain colour combos (red hair, alien skin and purple clothes? yuck) just forget about ‘em and use the rest of the things you enjoy about the generated sim. Or, re-roll!

Oh yeah, and…

Feel free to edit the source code to suit your own needs if you wish! Maybe you want to make a berry-sim specific one, or omit/add more traits, or make aliens more common? Go nuts!

You moved out of the house, started a career as an author, but then, everything went downhill. You lost all of your inspiration, and your one book isn’t doing so great. You want to be the richest person in the world, but with your unemployment, You’re not so sure how to achieve this.

- Must Complete the “Fabulously Wealthy” Aspiration

- Traits: Unflirty, Ambitious, Jealous

- Must Max Writing and Wellness Skills

- Can Only Publish One Book in Young Adult Life.

- Stay Unemployed Until Eldership

- Move Back into Gen 1 Home When You are an Adult

Generation 3: Amazing Athlete

Although your parent had no success, you do. You have always been athletic, ever since you were a child. You were a jock as a teen, but your athletic career has caused you to be quite neglectful to your children.

- Must Complete the “Bodybuilder” Aspiration

- Traits: Active, Hates Children, Loner

- Must Max Fitness and Handiness Skills

- Must Have Less than “Good Friends” with Your Kid/Kids

- Master the Athletic Career

- Must have a Home Gym by Death

Generation 4: Garden Sensation

Your neglectful parent caused you to spend most of your days in the garden. You love all things nature and spend most of your time in the greenhouse. Your kind nature has caused your family to be radiating with positive vibes.

- Must Complete the “Freelance Botanist” Aspiration

- Traits: Loves Outdoor, Vegetarian, Slob

- Must Max Gardening and Photography Skills

-Must have a Greenhouse

- Must Sell Every Crop Harvested
