has anyone seen this?!? her spotify was hacked!! i understand that she’s done some not so great things in the past but jesus christ this is insane! i didn’t think it would go this far. she needs to address this right now before it gets any worse!

Mind if I share my thoughts about the ethel cain situation, particularly with the racism, as a POC fan?

I think we can all agree that what people, famous or not, did years ago is reflective of their character today regardless of their age. Since it’s been brought up now, I do believe it’s necessary to address, but I don’t think it should factor in when making an official opinion of her. People constantly grow and change, and the idea that you eight years ago in very different circumstances defines you forever and always is ridiculous. Part of the process of becoming a good person with strong ideologies is learning how to acknowledge and break away from your shitty behavior; if people expect others to never fuck up ever in order to be a good person, then no one is a good person. She’s clearly not racist anymore, and has done a lot to show that, but of course, further proof of that would be by her acknowledging her past and confronting it (if it’s real which I’ve yet to be shown proof of). I think there’s a lot more to say about the people (and by that I mean the original accusers who either held on to this information for years or fabricated it, not the POC fans who are genuinely affected) weaponizing racism in order to claim she’s a bad person than the idea that Hayden herself being a bad person.

I don’t say all this to invalidate anyone being hurt btw! I just hope there’s more nuance to these sorts of discussions, whether it be regarding Hayden or anyone else. Not acknowledging the ability to change is backwards logic that only helps conservatives.
