In Tiny-Huge Island in Super Mario 64, there is a small island in the beach section that has nothing remarkable on it. It is empty in the Tiny version of the course and only contains a wooden post and a sign in the Huge version, providing 5 coins. The existence of such a prominent piece of course geometry without any significance has always invited speculation that it may have had a more important role during development.
Development files for the game that surfaced in 2020 confirm this, as data for an unused early star can be found that would have appeared over the Tiny version of the island. Its internal name is おきの ちいさなしま, meaning "tiny world's small island". Whether it would have simply floated there or would have needed to be activated through some action is unknown.

Hey, Mario, what should I do if I accidentally made a time god very upset? And maybe not so intentionally smashed his windows in retaliation? Asking for a friend?
Bit of an odd scenario, but don'ta worry! I'a help your friend with my'a time machine! And we'a learn all about'a history along the way! Worst case scenario, I'a just run over the Time God!

if you keep the inaccurate answers, you could add a disclaimer on the posts saying that you shared the contents as is and didnt double check them
Here'a what Mario'a gonna do. If people'a bring to Mario'a attention that the question/answers misleading, and'a it doesn't seem to properly explain itself in'a the "answers" page, Mario'a make a teeny tiny'a text like'a this either giving a summarized explanation for any inaccuracies, or'a a simple "These cards represent knowledge written from 1995 to 1997 and may be outdated."
You'a can feel free to imagine me'a saying it in a somewhat'a quiet voice if you'a like!

So, some of these'a quiz cards might'a be inaccurate by modern standards.
Do I'a just leave them as they are because it'a kinda funny, and'a also makes you think about them in'a the perspective of when they were made? Or should'a Mario research these topics himself and'a amend when necessary? Because'a Mario gonna admit it - he didn't pay much attention in school!

Development files for Super Mario 64 contain a model for the word "ULTRA" (top) in the same style as the "SUPER MARIO" text in the finished game's debug menu (bottom), which is accessible with cheats.
As the game was known as "Ultra 64 Mario Brothers" during development, this means that the word was likely used on an earlier version of the debug screen or even intended to be part of the finished game's logo before the name was changed.

In Super Mario 64, this slope in Whomp's Fortress has a specific incline where it is too slippery for Mario to run up, but can be scaled without issue by crawling up instead.
