Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival 2019
The Walt Disney World Resort has multiple festivals throughout the year. From Food and Wine Festival, Festival of the Holidays and Festival of the Arts. This year is the 25th anniversary of Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival. Whether you are wanting to consume all the new foods and drinks, catching the concerts offered to you for free with your park ticket or watching the demonstrations given by award-winning chefs, there is something for everyone to do at this festival.

Located at Trowel and Trellis is this chocolate pudding terrarium. This booth is sponsored by the company Impossible Foods, the newest on the vegan bandwagon. Impossible Foods has created a burger that is so meat like, that it has been changing peoples minds on how they feel towards their food. Although, this dessert does not feature their famous burger, it does offer a new spin on a classic. This chocolate pudding terrarium is complied of avocado cream (the chocolate pudding component), a matcha crumble and topped with pomegranate seeds and baby herbs. For $5, it is the perfect after dinner snack before heading out of the parks.

Located at The Honey Bee-stro is this mash of foods, that were thought out to work perfectly together. This booth is hosted by the National Honey Board, they are allowing you to taste locally made honey while learning about the process and learning to incorporate honey into new recipes. This dish is compiled of roasted cauliflower, buckwheat honey carrot puree, wild rice pilaf, asparagus, honey-blistered grapes, sunflower brittle and coriander flowers. At $4.50 a plate it is a great snack between meals, or a great light snack.

If you are looking for a refreshing drink to cool down in the hot Florida sun, the Pineapple Promenade booth has the perfect solution. Sitting at $4.25 and non-alcoholic, the frozen dessert violet lemonade steals the show every year. Although the famous pineapple dole whip soft serve is sold at this location, the violet lemonade is not sold all-year-round. This drink is so beloved that for the festival this year, the park offered merchandise such as violet lemonade mickey ears and a spirit jersey that pictured the violet lemonade itself with the quote ‘put a little zest in your fest.’

If you are attending the festival for the flowers rather than the food, the parks has you covered in that aspect, as well. Pictured is Jason Fabiano standing in front of a topiary of Winnie the Pooh. Around the park you could also find topiaries of the Toy Story gang (Buzz Lightyear, Woody and Bo Peep with her sheep), the Muppets (Miss Piggy with her luggage and Kermit on a bike with baguettes) and also Captain Hook and Peter Pan.
Unfortunately, Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival ended on June 3rd, 2019, but the festivals will be back August 29th, 2019 with Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival. This year will be the longest that the Food and Wine Festival has ever ran at 87 consecutive days. And if you cannot get enough of the festivals, the Walt Disney Company has your back with offering Festival of the Holidays starting on November 29th, 2019, three days after Food and Wine ends. To stay up to date with food offerings and what bands will be making appearances throughout the schedule, check with the Disney Parks Blog or the Disney Food Blog for more information.
