Antiquated Brindleton

An 1890s Decades Challenge Save File

This save has been almost a year in the making, but it's finally here! It includes a completely rebuilt Brindleton Bay inspired by historic New England towns and set in the 1890s. This save uses a light amount of historical cc and most of the packs.

Eight new residential lots

Seven new community lots

Six new households

Builds and households are all located in Brindleton Bay. The world is intended to be historically accurate to about 1890, though some liberties for functionality have been taken.

Builds in other worlds have been deleted. The necessary buildings, like dorms, active career lots, and the high school, have all been left in place.

Townies have been evicted, but not deleted, as I prefer EA townies to fully randomized townies.

If you’d like more period appropriate townies to add, the lovely @jewishsimming has some great historical ones to download and @cowplant-snacks has an amazing tutorial on how to manage your townies with MCCC.

REQUIREMENTS: I have all the packs except Batuu and some of the kits. I didn’t limit myself when building. I don’t have everything listed out here, but I will be uploading all the lots and households to my gallery, so if you’d like to know specific pack usage you’ll be able to check there. If you load in and things are replaced or missing and you think it looks obvious feel free to message me, I’m always happy to try to help you find something else that fits! This save includes historical CC, some is included in my download in folders and some you will need to download from the creators directly. The CC required is listed and linked below, you need to download these linked pieces in ADDITION to the included cc folders.

DOWNLOAD: There are five zipped folders to download, four of which contain included cc, and one which includes the save itself.

Download the "AB_SaveFile" folder, unzip it and simply move the file inside to your saves folder inside your Sims 4 folder (where your mods folder is located).

The included cc is in four folders (to allow for easier upload/download) for build, buy, clothing, and hair. Simply download the folders, unzip them, and place them in your mods folder.

After this you should be good to load up your game and get playing, let me know if you run into any issues, I'm happy to try to troubleshoot. Decades Legacy: 1890 in Summary

Okay this took me longer than I would like to admit, but I've finally gotten back to playing my decades save!

I’ve discovered that content creation while in school is very difficult for me, so after a super long hiatus, here’s my plan:

Rayne Legacy: Blanchard babies

Winter, 1890: 

During the first blizzard of the year, Alice Blanchard gave birth to two healthy babies: a boy named Joseph Elijah Blanchard, and a girl named Rosemary Ann Blanchard. May was there to help with the delivery and tend to Gene, Alice’s toddler son, while the family cooed over the new additions.

Winter, 1890: 

Ernest was determined to help the workers in his fathers shop get their rights, but he was an idealistic 19-year-old without any real experience. He decided the best place to start would be to talk to them and see what Fritz had already talked to them about. So, Ernest spent weeks talking with the workers and meeting in secret to discuss their working conditions.

Rayne Legacy: Fritz Hatfield

Winter, 1890: 

A funeral was held for Fritz at the local church. While the town mourned the loss of a friend and coworker, Ernest was thinking about the last conversation he had with Fritz. Before he got sick, Fritz had told Ernest about the poor working conditions in the shop and begged him to help them start a union. Ernest was brave, but not that brave...he told Fritz he couldn’t go against his father and everything they had worked for.

Why didn’t I just listen to him? Ernest asked himself. My best friend is gone now and it’s my fault. If I had taken him seriously, maybe he wouldn’t have gotten so sick…

After giving the eulogy, Ernest made a resolution: no matter how hard it was, he was going to fight for a union.

Fall, 1890: 

The morning after harvestfest, May was awoken by Cecelia, the maid.

“I’m so sorry, Miss, you must come now. Mr. Fritz...well, he didn’t make it through the night. Your brother is with him now, but I thought you ought to know.”

In shock, May followed Cecelia to the carriage house where Fritz lay on the ground with Ernest crying over him. She didn’t know what to say, so she simply hugged her brother and cried with him.

Rayne Legacy: Harvestfest pt 2

After dinner was over and Mr. Whitley had left, May grabbed some leftovers and snuck out to where she knew Fritz was.

She tapped lightly on the door and was greeted by a man who looked much worse off than she had imagined.

“How are you feeling? My father told me not to come out here while you’re ill but, well, I thought you might be hungry.” She slid the plate towards him carefully.

“Thank you,” he said. He sounded weak. His voice was barely a whisper and his face was covered with bright red splotches. “I-I really appreciate it.” 

May knew she should leave, but something told her Fritz needed her. So she stayed and tended to him as best she could. He was too weak to talk much, so she told him stories of her childhood and of dinner with Mr. Whitley. Although he was just listening, May found herself feeling closer to him through these stories. She told him things she hadn’t told anyone before, and she trusted that he wouldn’t judge her too harshly. 

Before long, Fritz had finished his food and fallen asleep. Content with all she had done, May went back to the house to get some sleep.
