Collision Domain - Snabay Networking

Collision Domain Refer to a network scenario where one device sends a frame out on a physical network segment forcing every other device on the same segment to pay attention to it. A network Collision occurs when two or more than two devices send a packet on a network segment at the same time. This is bad because if two devices on a single physical segment just happen to transmit data simultaneously, it will cause of the collision and require these devices to retransmit. Broadcast Domain

Broadcast Domain is a group of devices on a particular network segment that hears all the broadcasts sent out on that particular network segment.

But even though a broadcast domain is usually a boundary delimited by physical media like switches and routers, the term can also refer to a logical division of a network segment where all host can communicate via a Data Link Layer, hardware address broadcast.

CSMA/CD

CSMA/CD stands for Carrier Sense Multiple Access/ Collision Detection. It is an Ethernet networking protocol that helps devices to share the bandwidth evenly while preventing two devices from transmitting simultaneously on the same network medium.
