Ten years ago today, I wrote and uploaded my very first fanfiction, which was a short one-shot of Takasugi x OC.

If I’m to be honest with you all, the fact that it’s already been this long feels…rather somber. Since this one-shot, I wrote a ton of other fics, but removed most of them earlier this year as those really hurt to look at.

I’ve had some ups but have had hard downs throughout the years of creating fan content. I wrote and said things that I wish I could take back, I received little attention even then and the stories that did receive more attention while I had them up, I feel like I didn’t earn it because of how poorly written they were. And just when I returned to writing fanfiction last year, thinking on how I’m trying to improve, the fandom is dying all because the series is over. How sad is that?

I also feel like I’ve grown distant from the fandom due to how I felt towards the series itself. I believe I have talent yet few people are actually willing to see what I’m capable of doing. Because I don’t write ships? Because I don’t write reader-inserts outside of some drabbles? Because I don’t write anything related to the Joui or Shouyo/Utsuro?

Well, I would say more, but I’ve bored you enough, so I’ll conclude it with this:

Even if I get little to no attention, even if I feel completely alone, even when I tend to doubt myself so much, and even though there’re things I’m still working on to improve both my writing and myself as a person…

…I’ll keep going because I still have a lot of ideas I want to share. Will I still be around for another decade? Who knows, but right now, I’m not going anywhere.

As for this one-shot, while I cringe at it, at least it’s something I can laugh at.

Gintoki froze at the sound of the voice,he slowly turned his head to see a really angry looking otae AND an equally angry kyubei.

"W-w-wait!!! it's not what it looks like!!!"he tried to explain,but it was too late because he was already being reduced into mush by the girls(and Kagura)

"STOP!!!" Yume screamed while she runned toward gintoki's side to protect him from the girls.they watched her with a confused expression,wondering why would she even defend a man who just groped her boobs.

"I FINALLY GOT TO A DECISION!!!" Suddenly sarutobi appeared out of nowhere, everyone turned their attention to her.

"Gin-san........WE SHOULD HAVE A THREE WAY RELASHIONSHIP WITH HER!!!!!"she exclaimed pointing at yume

Third person p.o.v.

It has been several days,after the last attack of the death's fairy, and takasugi followed her on every appearence she made ever since.Shinsuke was determined to make her join the kiheitai.

"The only problem is approaching her"

He tought, and in fact it was really a problem; how do you approach a killer who is famous for being almost untouchable.

"I guess I'll just have to keep watching her show from behind the scenes" Shinsuke smirked slightly

It was another night,the moon was shining, lighting up the dark streets,one may think that it was a peaceful night,but it wasn't.

Screams of terror could be heard, and people begging for their lives.

The death's fairy was back, and takasugi shinsuke wasn't going to let this opportunity slide.

The very moment he saw her jumping from roof to roof, to escape he began swiftly,but also cautiously,chasing her, he wanted to know more about her,this woman,whom even though he never met in person,had a mysterious aura that inevitably drawned him to her.

She continued her escape, running away graciously,she really seemed like a fairy who was flying. He was still following her,until they reached a forest outside Edo, It was dark,and the forest was so dense that only a few moon's rays could filter through the trees branches,barely illumining the place enough to orient yourself.

Shinsuke was panting, trying to catch his breath after the long run, he looked around, and just at that moment he realized that he could no longer see her, the place was immersed in dead silence, and just as he began to think he had lost her traces .......

"Who are you?" The calm was voice speaking from behind him,right in his left ear,making shiver run down his spine.

His head was being pulled back, he felt a sharp blade pressing right at his neck.

"You have been following me since for weeks,did you think I wouldn't noticed?"

"So you have always known,I can't say I'm not surprised~~he lowly chuckled~~after all you're the most wanted woman in all Japan...... death's fairy"

"...........my name is takasugi shinsuke"

"Takasugi shinsuke........the commander of the kiheitai"

"Oh,I see you already know who I am"

"Of course I know who you are,you're the most wanted man in all Japan"She calmly answer him as she let him go.

Shinsuke tried to turn to see her but she vanished.

"So.......why did the leader of a dangerous terrorists group want from me"

This time the voice was coming from the darkness of the forest

'She really is skilled' Shinsuke amusingly tought

"What does the most wanted man of all Japan could ever want from the most wanted woman in Japan?"

".........I want you to join me"

She was right, the Moment After She finished her sentence there could be Heard footsteps moving in the grassi

Suddendy an amanto jumped out of the dark forest ready to attack Shinsuke,but was quickly cut down by him.

"Amanto?" Questioned the purple hared man as other creature were coming to attack them.

" I have a lot of enemies" replied the girl who was fighting them in the shadows

"How did they find you?"

"These amantos have a rather good sense of smell"

It was a rather amusing scene, Shinsuke couldn't see her but he could hear her moving around swiftly and kill the enemies like they were just mere flies.

"I didn't expect our first fight to be this early..."

Suddenly a kunai was trowed behind him, slightly touching his cheek and immediately strike down the amanto who was trying to attack him from behind.

"You talk too much commander of the kiheitai" replied the girls mockingly.

"Maybe you aren't a that good of fighter as they describe you after all...." She continued.

Shinsuke just chuckled amused by this woman who didn't even hesitate to mock a  man known by everyone as a ruthless killer,a beast that even men didn't dare to disrespect.......then there she was joking him like he was some common man.

There was a moment if silence, the amanto they both slew layed on the grass, Shinsuke could hear the light footsteps of the young woman,and could even see her silhouette still overshadowed,but then he saw another thing; another amanto was running to her, armed and ready to strike her.

In an instant he threw his sword and pierced the amanto's head killing him immediately.

"So who is distracted now" he teased her back,and heard her huff embarrassed.

He began walking towards her to get back the katana he threw,but as soon as he got too close to her she disappeared again.

"You didn't answer me"

"I want you to join the kiheitai, you'd be a great addition"

".......you want me to join you huh?"she pondered for a while".I haven't been in company for a long time," she said more than others to herself

"......fine, I'll join you" she finally decided

"Very well~~he smirked~~ but don't you think......I should got to see my new comrade?" He replied,still with an amused tone.

"........."the girl hesitate for a second.

"What is it~~he chuckled~~are you perhaps scared?"

"..... don't be ridiculous...."

He heard the light footsteps coming closer and closer, she was literally one step to coming out of the shadows she was and reveal herself.

Then she finally got under the moonlight and shinsuke's smirk disappeared immediately,and got replaced with slightly wide eyes and an open mouth.

The thing was that she was just.....so beautiful.

She was a rather petite girl, with a pale skin,she wore a really particular pink and green kimono. She had really long hair with a purple flower-like ribbon. Her hair color was certainly something.....white hairs who shaded into purple, the moonlight.  Her small plump pink lips were into a straight line,but the most beautiful thing about her were her eyes; a pair of sharp dark purple eyes that shaded into a dark fuchsia,under her left eye there was a beauty mark.

'she really seems like a fairy now'

Now, even if Shinsuke seemed like a cold man, he was still a man. And he couldn't deny that he felt incredibly attracted by this gorgeous woman, and to be frank Shinsuke thought that she was definitely the most beautiful maiden he ever seen.

Shinsuke managed to recomposed himself " well......I didn't expect the so feared death fairy to be this short" she mocked her.

The girl gritted her teeth "so do I, I didn't expect the infamous Kiheitai's commander to be a dwarf" she said annoyed.

"Ouch" he faked being hurt.

"So.... It's a little unfair that I told you my name,but I still don't know yours"

"My name is Sakura, Sakura yudokuna"

" Now let me get things clear~~she approached him with fierce eyes~~ even if I accepted joining you,that doesn't mean I'm your subordinate~~she grabbed the collar of his yukata and pulled him down, making him face her~~I make my own rules, remember this" she finished letting him go.

Shinsuke chuckled"really a daring woman"

"I'm really sorry about this idiot behavior" mutsu said calmly to the black haired girl as she bowed slightly her head to her.

"P-Please don't say that~~she embarrassingly said,with an adorable blush on her puffy cheeks~~h-he didn't mean it, it's not his fault!"

At this scene, sakamoto couldn't help feeling moved~~not only this girl didn't beat him half to death,she is actually defending him!!~~

'this woman is so cute!'sakamoto thinked while he was clenching his chest and overly dramatic tears flowed down his cheeks.

"Hahahahahah!by the way I still don't know you name miss!"

"O-Oh!~~ she lightly gasped, still blushing~~m-my n-name is Sorano hikari...n-nice to m-meet you!"

"Hahahaha! what a cute name for such a cute person!!!!~~he said loudly making the pink eyed girl go even redder~~Sora-chan,would you like to go to a love hote-"he was cut of by mutsu who kicked his guts,making the girl sweat drop nervously.

"W-well,I was heading to Edo~~she shyly say~~I-I was hoping to f-find a job as a doctor, unfortunately since amanto arrived human are really disvantaged with jobs...."she sighed sadly.

There was a moment of silence,the two watched the sad and exhausted expression of the black haired girl,and felt sorry for her.

"Where are you going to sleep then?"mutsu asked her.

"Don't worry,I will find a solution"the Pink eyed girl said trying to reassure her.

"But it's dangerous out here!at night this place is filled with punks!!"sakamoto loudly says concerned for the girl safety.

"Y-you don't have to worry!!really!I'm used to this~~she awkwardly says~~I know that I seem like an helpless little girl, but I know how to look after myself"she said determined.

The yato and the kaientai captain Exchanged a dubious look.

"Alright,but if you change your mind or if you have some problem go towards south,our ship has some trouble and we will stay there for the night" mutsu says

"Thank you so much,But it will not be necessary~~she says smiling as she walked away~~goodbye!"she finished waving her hands at them

The two watched as the girl was walking away.

"Do you think she really can be safe out there on her own?"mutsu asked to her captain with a concerd expression.

Sorano's p.o.v.

I was walking in the dark streets,the cold wind was furiously blowing making me shiver.I hear a really loud sound who makes me jump startled.

'that was a thunder,I hope to find shelter before it begins to rain!' I nervously thought.

I really should've shut my mouth, because the very moment I thought that the rain was already pouring down!

I began running in a desperate attempting to find a place to shelter me from the rain.

For pure luck I spotted a tiny house,and I speeded up my race.by the time I was in front of the door I was completely soaked and the rain turned into a terrible storm.

I energetically knocked the door hoping someone was in the house.

Thanks to the heavens someone was inside the house,there was a couple with two kids,they were so kind and generous

To let me stay in for the night!

Right now we are having dinner,we can hear the lighting outside.

Suddenly we heart a particularly loud thunder that scared the youngest child,her sister conforted her with a hug.

'this scene remember me something' I think as I smile nostalgically at the scene between the two sisters.

We suddenly heard,the father get up from his seat to go open the door,as he walked the knocking became more and more violent.

Before the man could even get in front of the door, someone broke it down,getting inside the house.

The man was tall and muscular,with various scars on his face and the scariest part was........  That he was covered in blood,and held a bloody axe.

The father,tried to kick him out,but before he could do anything that giant already hit him,cutting his shoulder.

His daughter screamed in terror at the view of their injured father, their mother  pulled them into her chest attempting to calm them.

"I'll stay here" was all the punk said.

It has been two hours, we discovered that the man who broke in was a wanted criminal who somehow escaped prison.

Somehow I menaged to convince him to let me treat the young father, he agreed at the condition that I also treated him since he was also injured.

As I bandaged the criminal I started thinking how to get us out of this mess.

'the situation is really bad,even if he is injured he could easily kill us~~I thinked~~........I don't want to do that,I hate doing it,I have to think another way,there must be another way!"

Sakamoto's p.o.v

I was inside the ship,looking at the window,I was wondering if that girl was okay with a weather like this.

"that's it!! I'll go search for her!"I said outloud as I headed toward the exit.

"Captain where are you going?" I hear Mustu say

"You are going to search for sorano-san right"She spoked before I could answer her ,I nodded determined at her.

"I'll come with you,If I don't you will surely get lost"

"Hahahah,mutsu you have been more mean to me lately......"I muttered the last part.

As when exited the huge kaientai ship we heard.......police sirens?

"What is the police doing here?"mutsu questioned confused.

As we walked towards them a policeman who saw us came towards us.

"Excuse me, did you happen to see this man" he asked us as he handed us the photo of a big man with scars on his face and a mean look on it

"No,I didn't saw him,why?"I asked him

"He is a criminal,he escaped from prison and already killed someone,we are trying to follow him,some witnessed affirm to have saw him around here"

At his words me and mutsu exchanged a single glance and immediately sprinted towards north(the direction Sorano took),leaving behind a speechless policeman.

Sorano's p.o.v.

'this is bad' I thought nervously as I saw the huge guy getting more and more furious,why?because we could hear the sound of police sirens.

"ONE OF YOU BASTARDS CALLED THE POLICE!!!!"he roared furiously.

"We couldn't, you where with us the whole time!!!"the young woman tried to tell him,but was slapped hardly by him.

I instantly rushed toward her to see if she was badly injured,she just fainted from the blow.

"IF THE POLICE CAME HERE I'LL KILL YOU ALL!!"

In a outburst of anger he took one of the little girl from her tiny arm,lifting her like a ragdoll.

"Let her go"I say angrily,losing my shyness.

"what did you say slut?!"

He roughly putted down the child,heading towards me with a ferocious gaze.

He took me from the neck and lifted me up in the air,just like he did with the little girl. His hand was tightening arous my neck, it's painful,I can't breath.

I have to do something,but I can't do that........I hate fighting.

With my barely open eyes I see him raising his fist,ready to punch me.

'I have to,even if I hate it I have to do it!"

Just as I was ready to fight back I heard a shoot,I'm an instant I'm free from his grip and I can breath again,the criminal was in pain on the ground.

As I open my eyes I see sakamoto-san in front of me.

"S-sakamoto-san, what are you doing here?"

He grinned widely"hahahahahah! A gentleman always rescue a damsel in distress!!"

"I-I-I'm sorry for causing you trouble!!!"I squeaked embarrassed.

"Hahahahha, don't worry about it!!!~~he say as he lift me up, carrying me bridal style~~ now we're even! You saved me and now I saved you hahahahahah!!!!" He cheerfully say.

After a while the police and mutsu-san arrived,the man was immediately handcuffed and I checked on the entire family, luckily all of them were alright.

I was thanked by the couple,for treating them and protecting their daughter......but I don't think I deserve their gratefulness.

After the police was gone I said goodbye to the little family,ready to continue my journey towards Edo.

Or at least I tried to,before being stopped by a certain obnoxious laugh.

"Hahahahhaha!listen sora-chan,you want a job as a doctor,right?"

"......y-yes"

"Then,why don't you join the kaientai!!!!we are a commercial company and travel space with a ship"

"Well,now that I think of it we don't have a doctor on board~~mutsu say while cupping her chin with her fingers~~this is the second time you said something smart today,you are exceeding my expectations"
