I don't see much of this on here or on Wattpad, so I wanted to give it a try 😛

Gintoki is known for his laid-back, carefree, somewhat lazy, and comedic personality amongst his peers and people who come across him. Not to mention his obsession with sweets. Strawberry flavored sweets to be specific. With him and the gang doing odd jobs and goofing around the city they reside in, such as gambling, reading manga and comics, it's rare to see Gintoki alone expressing his true self while no one is around. He's dedicated to protecting his loved ones and friends, no doubt. But how far is he willing to go to keep them from harms way? How is he going to keep his impulsiveness in check?

Gintoki knows how to keep his image in check from his peers. His carefree and silly persona as an odd-jobs worker is a façade he maintains to blend into society. Though behind closed doors, his urges and tendencies truly manifest. A well guarded secret. Not a soul knows about his dual personality. Though Shinpachi and Kagura may have a vague sense that something is wrong , they won't know the level of his possessiveness until it's too late.

Due to his past, it haunts him to think with his closest friends might drift away at any given point due to an expected event or because of what he's done. Jealousy is something that he can't control. Seeing his friends interact with others than him makes his blood boil. If he's feeling very petty, he'd purposefully make an excuse where they need to be somewhere, ASAP!

Sometimes, when he's out of his mind, he'd isolate his two favorite people for as long as he wants. Mainly believing that they could find happiness from him. Whether it's intentional or unintentional.

Though, when he's called out on his behavior, he'd justify it. Saying that it's only an act of "protectiveness" or even "love." His delusional justifications may lead him to think that what he's actually doing is reasonable.

Gintoki may do acts of self-sacrifice. To ensure safety and happiness, going out of his say to self sabotage or just straight up his own life.

He'll get unhinged. If anything, he'd probably do things and disregard the consequences of his own actions. Though, he'll even forget about Shimpachi and Kagura and wonder off into his mental instability for a period of time before someone beats it out of him.

“Y/N what’s wrong?”

You had a really long day, one of those that make you want to give up, everything seems to have no meaning and you start to feel like maybe, just maybe, you don’t have one either. On those days walking, eating, doing the most basic things, hell, even breathing gets hard, and there is nothing you’d like more than being in the arms of your lover, to feel at home, to have something to remind you that even when everything else is nonsense, life has a meaning in that warm embrace.

That day was one of those days and you truly needed a hug, but at the same time you didn’t want to ask for it because, well. You didn’t want to seem clingy, needy or straight up a baby. So you bottled it up and went do your own thing hoping you’d feel better if you distracted yourself long enough. All in all, you thought you were doing a great job hiding how you were feeling, yet Gintoki noticed how you would look at him from the corner of your eyes, how you’d fidget with your hands, walk around aimlessly like you were struggling choosing what to do and he certainly noticed how your leg kept bouncing up and down nervously.

“Nothing. Nothing’s wrong” As if all the signals he had noticed previously weren’t enough, the fact that you didn’t even look at him in the eyes showed that there was indeed something going on.

“Don’t lie to me,” he held your chin between his fingers to make sure you’d look at him in the eyes “what’s wrong?”

Tears started coming out and before he could see you cry, you threw yourself in his arms, hiding your face in his chest, and started telling him everything that had been bothering you. A part of you was relieved to finally be able to talk it out, but the other was scared, terrified even. ‘What if, after seeing me this vulnerable, he decides to turn around and leave?’ This is what you were thinking, but you kept talking nonetheless: the dam had already broke and the pain was too much for you to handle alone. After you finished talking there was a moment of silence and, for that split second, you were sure he was going to leave you for real.

“Please, don’t go”

Despite your expectations he let out a low, deep laugh.

“Sorry, Sunshine. You’re stuck with me now”

Just like that, he held you even closer almost like he was vowing to protect you from everything, everyone, even your own mind.

Thank you for your work it really helped me appreciate this ship more what I like about gintsu is the whole serious female mentor/lazy male mentor dynamic and I really like how they bounce off of each other and that fact that tsukuyo likes gintoki only helps that so I wanted to know what drew you to gintoki and tsukuyo in the first place is it okay if I ask that ignore this is it isn’t

You're welcome! I mostly drew Gintoki and Tsukuyo and I am very glad that some are enjoying them in the fandom. They have many dynamics you can actually count on considering they spend a lot of time in arcs together, and mostly the interactions are amazing and give me more inspiration lol. So that's why I still enjoy the ship for a long time, I drew them also because they're both great characters imho. They respect each other and see a glimpse of their past, fought together, took down the government together for an old couple's promise, the list goes on...

I hope you also try to check other gintsu artists/writers because they're definitely sharing beautiful contents for them!
