Popups are bad UX. Here’s how you can replace them, and still keep the numbers up.
Tumblr media
In the last few years of marketing, as customer acquisition costs have gone up and up, and it has become difficult to get customers to try your new product, marketers have resorted to newer and newer ways of attracting attention.
There have been several of these – the resurgence of the email newsletter, re-marketing, drip campaigns and what not. But I don’t think I’d be too far off if I said that the single most hated of all of these would be the pop-up notification.
Let’s face it. Pop-ups are annoying. There is really no way in which you can justify pop-ups in an aesthetic sense. They turn up when you are in the middle of something, ask you for your details, and if you dismiss them, in some cases, even turn up again. Pop-ups by definition are interruptive not user-friendly.
Why then, have most people been using them all this while?
Because they work, at least for a while.

Introduce context into your visitor conversations. No, really!
Tumblr media
One of the problems current chat solutions have is the sameness of them all.
Popping up at the bottom right hand corner of business websites, chat widgets with chatbots and sometimes live chat agents ask visitors what they are looking for, and attempt to start a conversation from there.
We all know this. We have been talked to by this chatbots in these cute little boxes.
And sometimes we have replied, and got what we came to the website for.
But what about the other times?
The times we have been annoyed and didn’t want to speak to anyone but were hounded by the chatbot until we left. The times that the questions the chat agent was asking us were not relevant because he did not know in what context you were there on the site.
And there have been a few of these times for all of us.

How my quest to buy a tie led me to my startup -Snippect
Tumblr media
I was out buying a tie, and it was urgent. That’s when we came up with the idea for Snippect.
If that sounds too big a jump, let me rewind and tell you what actually happened.
Last year, as we were building Acebot, our conversational survey solution, we found ourselves in the United States, prepping to present at an event.
Now bear in mind that we are nerdy, startup folks who weren’t really paying any attention to ‘what to wear’, until the very last minute. It was then that we realized we had to be properly attired for a presentation of this scale, and that I, personally, had to get a tie!
Rushed into the first store I saw, turned out to be a Bloomingdales, where I promptly got lost.
The large store and its cavernous, maze like aisles meant that I ran around in circles looking for where the ties were, scaring myself and everyone around, before I was rescued by an amazing sales rep. He asked me to follow him and made sure I found what I was looking for.

The Top 9 Tools That You Need for CRO
Tumblr media
If you’re still unsure about what CRO is, you really need to catch up! CRO is a tool of the future. We’ve already given the low down here.
But here’s a recap, CRO stands for Conversion Rate Optimisation – a systematic process of increasing the percentage of users that take a desired action on your website or blog.
CRO is almost like hiring a private detective for each independent user of your website, tracking their movements, seeing what makes them click, what actions they take and what actions (you’d like them to take, but) they don’t.
With this information, you tweak, poke, change, evolve, sustain, retain and ensure they keep coming back to your page and they start and continue to convert to tangible customers. So where do we hire these private detectives?

6 Digital Marketing Technologies You Absolutely Need in 2019 to Grow Your Business
Tumblr media
In a globalized digital-first world, consumers are no longer discovering brands like they once used to in the good ol’ days.
If you remember your grandmother snipping out an ad with a coupon from a newspaper, imagine her sending you a DM on Instagram about an upcoming sale as the 21st century equivalent.
We’ve come a long way since print and radio – and for good reason. Now, things are faster, more user-friendly, streamlined, interactive, and most importantly, more accurately measurable and some would say, effective.
In this share-first, read-later age, how do you integrate the latest in tech to help your brand expand? What’s the latest in tech, anyway?
We’ll break it down for you. Every great business must focus on six critical areas in the digital plane in order to target and reach customers, and then retain them.

Tumblr media

You put together a perfect high scoring title.
You pay for analytic software and put in hours of research to ensure it’s everything you want it to be. You promote it on several channels and you see traffic pouring in. What now?
This is the tricky part. You want your consumers to stay engaged, but you just have a wall of text in an age with billions of them.
How do you make sure your customers stay on yours?

The Best AMP Templates For Lead Conversion
Tumblr media
The great thing about Google’s AMP project is that because it’s an open-source platform, there are tech nerds who have already solved any and every problem you may encounter. This is especially useful if you’re short of a developing team.
When it comes to building your webpage, this means you can just browse through the zillions – yes, zillions – of premade templates instead of making your own from scratch. This can save you time, energy, and big bucks.
If you’re looking to convert your leads, there are a few things you need to keep in mind. The first is, of course, speed. This is one place where the faster you unload all you have to offer, the better it is for your visitors. Use templates that load quickly on mobile devices and get rid of all the unnecessary gunk.

4 Reasons for E-Commerce Businesses to Switch to AMP
Tumblr media
Chances are you’ve heard about this revolutionary project that claims to solve the biggest problem that we have with the internet – waiting.
The domain (and king) of publishers, Google has been pushing businesses and advertisers to climb on the AMP bandwagon.
AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) is a collaborative effort between thousands of developers, websites, publishers, distribution platforms and tech companies. That’s a lot of effort, all done to create the perfect product.
This product has resulted in the publishing of over 1.5B AMP pages and 100+ leading analytics, ad-tech, and CMS providers supporting the AMP format.
WompMobile, a SAAS (Software as a Service) platform specializing in converting traditional e- commerce and enterprise sites into effective mobile experiences says, “AMP was the perfect addition to our business, giving us a new level of impact for our e-commerce clients”.

Best Alternative to HelloTars
Tumblr media
The Woes of Advertising
When I’m out shopping, there’s nothing more annoying than an over persistent salesperson that follows you around the store (you can literally feel them breathing down your neck). Similarly, while I’m online nothing pushes my buttons more than nagging chatbots (and pop-ups, of course).
Don’t get me wrong, having conversations is great. If I had to choose between a jump-scare pop-up or a chat box, I’d choose the latter. But at the end of the day, no one really loves picking between the lesser of two evils. So in an ideal world, your method of advertising would be one that isn’t considered an evil in the first place.

Bye Bye HelloBar! Hello Snippect!
Tumblr media
We are in the age of consumerism. We are spoilt for choice, speed, and convenience. Everything is served to us on a silver platter, or more accurately, a gold plated smartphone.  As a business owner, you want to invest wisely.
You want to invest in a product that gives your consumers a flawless user experience. Information must be delivered to the user both quickly and efficiently.
Attention spans are shorter, tabs are constantly being open and shut, one glitch, one annoying pop-up and the user has clicked the dreaded x.
So how do we keep your users engaged even before they are committed to your product or service?

The Best AMP Templates for Landing Pages
Tumblr media
Your landing page is your first impression. But you already know this.
What you may not know is how important all the invisible things are in addition to the design and navigation of your landing page. In a mobile-first world, the amount of time it takes your landing page to load could be the reason a visitor chooses to leave – or stay.
Additionally, when websites aren’t developed specifically for mobile, they end up looking very- to put it lightly – offwhen loading on mobile devices. Whether it’s wonky fonts, contorted images, or just general glitchiness, the problems with loading desktop-built websites on mobile are countless.
Google’s AMP project has been developed to make your landing page the best version of itself. From loading your landing page in under 10 seconds to ensuring its design stays responsive no matter what type of screen you’re loading it from, AMP templates help you stay quick and current in a day and age when people are distracted by videos of cute puppies eating lettuce.

Best Alternative to Sumo Pop-ups
Tumblr media
The Trouble with Pop-ups
As tempting as it may be to search for ‘one-stop’ solutions and tools that have the capability to handle everything that your brand needs, it is important to know and remember what your brand is looking for.
Having too many apps at your disposal, but only using 3 out of 13 of them (as well as all-in-one tools generally not being as solid as single plug-ins), makes the entire exercise rather futile.
Less is more, unless you’re talking about your conversion rate (but we told you that already).

The Best AMP Templates for Bloggers
Tumblr media
As a blogger, you probably have a set of various goals you’re looking to fulfill. Unlike other websites, you’re perhaps aiming to achieve a steady following of readers, increase ad revenue, and link users to your socials. How do you develop a mobile-ready website that can do all this and more?
You don’t.
Whether you’re just starting out and beginning to learn the blogging ropes or even if you’ve been playing the game for a while now, you don’t have to develop your own smartphone-responsive website all by yourself. Instead, you can utilize one of the interweb’s pre-made templates to attain all your targets on mobile.
Because your readers are most likely reading your content on the subway while commuting to work or while they wait at the doctor’s office for their appointment, it’s important to gear your blog up for the mobile-first world.

AMP for E-commerce: The Guide to Growing Your Business
Tumblr media
As an ecommerce business, your website is your most important (and perhaps only) sales portal. Don’t let your customers escape to the nether realm.
Instead, ensure your website is developed efficiently enough to guide your visitors to make a purchase. The best way to do that? Google AMP. In a mobile-first world, users are shopping everywhere – while commuting to work or sitting on the toilet (face it, it’s a reality).
No matter where they’re using their smartphone, your website needs to load fast enough so you won’t lose your leads. With Google AMP’s instant page load, your customers can navigate your website quickly and find exactly what they want, easily.
