Dear readers! 

I have officially finished Wrecked, after almost two months I was able to finish this book.  I don’t know where to start, but let’s get into it! The intro to this book is very heavy I will say. It has strong dark themes that are heavy to read about. This book dealt with a lot of heavy dark themes that it was hard for me to read. So far into this series it has been one of the most difficult books to read due to these themes. In a way I connected with this book and it tugged my heart strings. I loved Elena’s character. As a Mexican girl, Elena was perfect in every way. I related to her despite of her struggles but I understood her. I loved that Lauren didn’t give her this damsel in distress vibes and how Mexican characters are always portrayed in certain books that make’s me want to shut it. 

I have bought books with Mexican female leads that I immediately throw them in the donation pile because they have been on my bookshelf for way too long. She captured her so perfectly and I love it so god damn much. This book is so different from her other two in the series and it may be the best one so far that I have read. I will say the spice scenes aren’t as spicy and thats what I loved about this book. The romance scenes didn’t overpower it and kept it straight to the plot. Compared to Collided that I could not stand at all. This was a breath of fresh air and I loved it so much. I did not like the third breakup act, I would’ve preferred if this was dealt with a different way. 

But I enjoyed reading this. I give this book P2! It placed second place in my ranking for the series! Throttled places first, and Collided places so far last. My opinion may change and I will make sure to give my final standing after I finish Redeemed. The last book in the series. I am a little sad that this series is now coming to an end but I have had the utmost pleasure to read it. I had high hopes for this book and it blew me away. I think the best part was that I obviously imagined Jax Kingston as the 7th time world champion Lewis Hamilton 🤭 He would make me mad and piss me off but certainly made it up to me that I did give in. His character arc was decent and I enjoyed all the side characters as well. Loved Caleb very much, he was very much a comedic relief. This book brought me so much peace and I am excited to place it back on my bookshelf proudly. 

SHOUT OUT TO TALIN FOR MY TRUSTY BOOKMARK :D I have used it religiously and its the best thing I ever owned.

Neon Gods by Kate Robert

second book of the year! let's get into it. spoiler free review!

Neon gods was an interesting read. I would agree that this book captured my attention instantly. I always loved greek mythology and loved the retelling of the originals. I loved the aesthetic of the book, the aura that it gave off. it was dark and sexy.

I wish there was more chemistry between both characters. Their relationship felt so sudden even if that was a major part of the plot. I enjoy a good slow burn despite of me being against it when it becomes too much.

There were some good scenes and I did enjoy the read though. I feel like this retelling had so much potential though it wasn't there. My expectations were slightly high but I did enjoy the read. It was nice to read something different than my usual upbeat romance novels.

One of my favorite quotes from the book is "if we were different people in different circumstances, I would get down on my knees and beg you to stay at the end of the winter. I would move heaven and earth and the Underworld itself to keep you with me." It was the real stunner that had my breath taken away.

Is it a shelf keeper? Unfortunately no, it won't be a book that I'd want to pick up again to read. Despite of me enjoying it, it will be moved to the next readers hands. If you're looking to escape for a little bit and dive into a steamy romance. This may be your book! I do suggest checking it out from your local library or thrifting it! The writing wasn't too bad. I do believe it's a good read to get you out of a reading slump or you need an introductory to dark romance.

Welcome to snoopy’s first review! 

It is my first hockey romance book! I am still new to reading about sports romance books and they have been a continuous theme as I have been picking up new hobbies . This was picked up at target if I do remember and I have been going through a slight hockey phase. I got it back in November and it has been sitting on my shelf since then. Until In January when I began to pick it up to read. The plot was pretty solid! The chemistry between both characters were great!  It was nice picking up a book after a while. Let’s really get into it!

Most spoiler free review! spoilers without context. 

My first thoughts of it while reading, is that it started off slow slightly. It took me a while to really get into it but I knew if I would keep reading the ball would roll. Or I should say the puck gained momentum lol. I loved that the book had a playlist and it’s my favorite thing ever. Though when I am reading I never know when to play a specific song. But I do love the fact that the book had a playlist. I loved both characters and the way their personalities collided and their dynamic was so natural. That was my favorite part while reading this book. I loved how organic and how natural their relationship began to build up. From bringing flowers that are used in funerals to actual sunflowers, and from valentines day date matching to Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes. I really did like this book and it was a good read. It was a nice romance book to read over the holidays. It was slightly predictable but I didn’t mind it. When I read romance stories I don’t take them so seriously compared to other books… that hopefully will be reviewed soon on snoopy’s corner 😉

If this book could be a drink it would definitely be chai tea, there were scenes that tugged my heart and scenes that made me giggle as I kicked my feet. I loved that though there were spicy scenes, it didn’t completely take over the story and it was just simply perfect. I have read too many stories where the story gets lost due to this and it immediately becomes apart of the DNF  (did not finish) race. I am looking forward into reading the next book from the mini library I have. I do not know what will be next, when the book is finished the review will come out :) feeling a little spooky… during this upcoming spring stay tuned. In the meantime… I will be heading back to my corner picking which book and seeing where the story take me.
