in case you can’t read my handwriting, the books enjolras is reading are the grapes of wrath by john steinbeck (sorry for spelling your name wrong in the drawing dude), the princess bride by william goldman, crime and punishment by fyodor dostoevsky, the color purple by alice walker, the communist manifesto by karl marx, the social contract by jean-jacques rousseau, a people’s history of the united states by howard zinn, and the hunchback of notre dame by victor hugo (hey i know that guy!)

the people on his wall are saint-just, robespierre, karl marx, toussaint l’overture, and jello biafra. he also has various paintings of the french revolution and june rebellion, as well as various posters for punk bands, shows and zines.

speaking of zines, the booklets on his desk that read “LES AMIS DE L’ABC” are issues of the amis’ own punk zine! i’m aware i spelled it wrong in the drawing. i can’t go back and fix it unfortunately, i don’t have access to this drawing app anymore

also, yes, my au takes place in america. i’m very sorry about that, but i know the most about the american 80s punk movement as compared to the one in france :/ i even wrote a 15 page research paper about it! so trust, the decision to put them in america does have a reason to it, as i am very passionate about the history of the movement my au is centered around (being the rock against reagan movement + the general culture around hardcore punk at the time)
