hey, I've been wanting to ask, if this infection could potentially infect humans, how different would each stage be? Especially being different from the infected engines who are so far only have only been Edward, which makes me wonder if other types of engines could be infected like Diesels, oil burning, wood burning, narrow gauge or miniature gauge engines?

I've been thinking about infecting the humans too, like in that Junji Ito manga. But I found it very gruesome and too gory to draw. And while this blog isn't exactly family-friendly, I still don't want to risk getting reported for inappropriate content, especially since there are kids who follow this blog as well.

As for engines, There sure will be more to come, those who aren't immune aren't safe that's for sure :3

How many stages of the infected state in your AU until completely infected?

There are 4 Stages!

Stage 1 - where the rotten smell starts to develop, unable to be washed off

Stage 2 - Restlessness and the feel of mild boiler ache

Stage 3 - Mysterious substance starts to leak, as holes start to open up

Stage 4 (LAST STAGE) - completely infected

I state Stage 4 as completely infected physically, but they still have a little conscious left, albeit being chipped away little by little.

Are Gordon and Henry immune to the fishy infection? I honestly think that Henry's immune because of the flying kipper incident of his. Not sure about Gordon tho.

Yes Henry is immune, and ding ding ding you're correct! His rebuild might have something to do with it, Gordon...ah well we'll have to see ;)

You mentioned in the pinned post that Edward is Thomas's father figure (like in your main blog). How's he handling Edward's current situation?

Plus...with how Edward's doing now, is he now gonna attack people and the other engines? 🙂

Thomas is currently and understandably upset, Since James refused to say much about what he saw, Thomas doesn't have a clear idea of what is exactly happening to Edward.

He wanted to visit Ed, but wasn't allowed to.

That's not stopping him though :}

Edward...a bit of his consciousness is still there, he just can't control himself anymore.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but how exactly are Thomas and James immune? Why is Percy not?

That's not a dumb question dw!😄

I don't have an explanation as to why they're immune yet, but this infection au somewhat follows the original MLP infection au! And they don't generally explain why the ponies are immune.

I would love to dive into this topic so I can get an answer, Doing some research on it too, maybe Thomas when had that fish incident in his water tank, it had long lasting effects.

Or perhaps that because Thomas and James are one of those engines who goes to the steamwork often due to crashes, it made them build immunity.

Still up for speculation :3.
