I've read all of #nk Jemisin's works, then given them a few months to simmer, then re-read them. The re-read is always my best test of whether an author is amazing (she is, right from the get-go) or actual god-tier. The layers of metaphor, social analysis, philosophical questioning, and on and on and on... they're like a perfect, never-ending cake.
I'm known for my fanfic. I have NO URGE to write any fanfic of these works. It's that Right.

Hello! Just wandering where I can read your fanfic ‘Binary’ ! I saw the fanart drawn by illustrariane , it’s amazing! 🤩
Thank you for the ask! It's on fanfiction.net. I know that place is old and clunky, but I still love it.

Hello! I’m not sure if you’re still active on here anymore, but in any case I reread Kintsugi and got really emo and made a short playlist for it! It’s mostly folksy stuff that gave me the vibes of your story and characters (which I absolutely adore).
I’ll just. Leave it here 👉👈
Also, lyrics from each song that made me go ‘OH this is kintsugi!erik and Christine’ are under the cut
1. Man or a monster (Sam Tinnesz)
In your hands / There's a touch that can heal / But in those same hands / Is there the power to kill / Are you a man or a monster?
2. How to embrace a swamp creature (The Mountain Goats)
Got out of bed, could not remember my own name / Condemned to walk the soil amongst all creatures wild and tame
3. Ghosting (Mother Mother)
And this is why I have decided / To pull these old white sheets from my head / I'll leave them folded neat and tidy / So that you'll know I'm out of hiding
4. Age of kings (The Mountain Goats)
Held you in my arms for the first time that day / Felt like God's anointed when you didn't push me away / Gold light shining on so many things / In the age of kings
5. Escapism (Steven Universe)
But pulled against the grain / I feel a little pain / That I would rather do without / I'd rather be free
6. Curses (The Crane Wives)
Every word I say is kindling / But the smoke clears when you're around / Won't you stay with me, my darling / When my walls start burning down?
7. Community gardens (The Scary Jokes)
Full disclosure / I am a monster, a creature of despair / Not that that should be a cause for concern
8. Human (dodie)
Paint me in trust / I'll be your best friend / Call me the one / This night just can't end / Oh, I'm so human / We're just human
9. Honeybee (Steam Powered Giraffes)
You didn't have to look my way / Your eyes still haunt me to this day / But you did. Yes, you did
10. Shrike (Hozier)
I couldn't utter my love when it counted / Ah, but I'm singing like a bird 'bout it now / I couldn't whisper when you needed it shouted / Ah, but I'm singing like a bird 'bout it now
11. Wait for me II (Hadestown)
I'll tell you where the real road lies: / Between your ears, behind your eyes / That is the path to Paradise / Likewise, the road to ruin
12. Dear Wormwood (The Oh Hellos)
I know who I am now / I know who I want to be / I want to be more than / This devil inside of me
13. Absolute lithops effect (The Mountain Goats - again. Sorry)
And I feel sure that my wounds will heal / And I will bloom here in my room / With a little water and a little bit of sunlight / And a little bit of tender mercy, tender mercy
It’s quite short and simple, but I hope you like the music ^^ Thank you for the beautiful writing, and have a nice day!

To my younger (American) followers:
Even if the polls are ridiculous you still have to vote Even if the experts say it’s over you still have to vote Even if the newscasters have called your state you still have to vote
Elections are decided by the people who show up on election day. All the polls in the world don’t mater if you don’t go into the booth and make a choice. All the experts can be (and frequently are) wrong if you don’t go into the booth and make a choice. News media tend to call stats at 5% of votes tallied. If your polls are still open, you can still change things.
Don’t let a strong summer showing in the media dissuade you. You still have to show up in November. It does matter. If people see their candidate winning and decide that they don’t have to show up and be heard, there is a chance the other side will rally. You have to participate. No matter what.

This story is not dead, but my brain is pulling it in four different directions. I think outside input (since it was born from outside suggestion) will help. Storyline 1 stays sweet, with mild angst (by my angst scale) and a happy ending. Storyline 2 ends...painfully. Storyline 3 hits moderate angst, then resolves with a happy ending. Storyline 4 hits moderate angst, then resolves with a bittersweet ending.
Chapters: 4/? Fandom: Le Fantôme de l'Opéra | Phantom of the Opera & Related Fandoms, Le Fantôme de l'Opéra | Phantom of the Opera - Gaston Leroux Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Christine Daaé/Erik | Phantom of the Opera Characters: Christine Daaé, Erik | Phantom of the Opera, Nadir Khan, Other Character Tags to Be Added Additional Tags: Alternate Universe, COVID19 Summary:
Based on a prompt: Erik is a successful film score composer, but no one knows him. Fronted by the much more palatable Nadir Kanan, his real identity remains a secret and the man himself remains a hermit. …until a pandemic comes along and ushers in an era of masks.

I’m sorry, what was that about Joe not being liberal enough for y’all?
Because me and my six figures worth of student loan debt would like a word.

my state
The U.S. 4th Circuit Court of Appeals in a 12-3 decision denied an effort to block the North Carolina State Board of Election from counting ballots postmarked by Nov. 3, but that arrive before Nov. 12.
“All ballots must still be mailed on or before Election Day,” Circuit Judge James Wynn wrote, according to Reuters.

Resources for Mending Clothes

We toss out over 80 pounds of textiles each year. These textiles are often made of plastic materials (polyester, nylon), made in unethical conditions, dyed with harsh dyes that often get put into the rivers, etc. Even a single cotton shirt releases carbon emissions and uses tons of water.
So the best thing to prevent the unsustainable growth of the fashion industry is to make sure that your clothing lasts as long as possible. To do so, mending clothing is a must. So here are some resources to help you learn how to do various things, such as sewing a button, to tailoring clothes, or even upcycling old clothing into new styles.
* How to sew on three different types of button
* How to hand sew on a patch on a torn pair of jeans
* How to sew up a hole in an old shirt
* How to sew a simple T-shirt
* How to upcycle old clothing into new clothing
* More upcycle and sewing techniques
* How to repair a damaged sock
* How to do an invisible stitch
* 3 different stitches to work with for different results
* How to make a T-shirt smaller so it fits you better
* How to make repairs to your shoes
These are just a few of the things that you can do in order to make sure that your clothing lasts for a long time. Nobody wants to keep buying new clothing, as it is expensive and wasteful.
So making alterations to your clothing, or fixing small holes hen you see them can be hugely beneficial to your wallet, to garment workers, and to the environment in the long term.
