It is a real tragedy that English does not have a diminutive suffix. There is no way to properly translate that from Dutch to English and it's tragic because in many cases the diminutive adds a layer of meaning that you can only translate with like a dozen extra words
#we do tho. i mean i get what ur saying but english very much has a diminutive suffix.#i suppose less common for it to be like ubiquitous to all nouns ever but there is definitely a diminutive suffix -y/-ie#like if i want to say ur house is cute that's housie. if my desk is my friend that's my little desky.#and applies broadly to all sorts of names. wifey. markus -> marky. etc#prob a diff cultural connotation for sure that may even depend on like#region e.g. what state ur in or local accent or whatever#but. she's right there ...#linguistics

honestly looking at the posts on here I'm really surprised people don't have more sympathy for kipperlily. who among us hasn't wanted to be a cool, innately special hero? isn't that part of why we play ttrpgs? the only difference is that we get to roll five dice and take the three highest and kipperlily can't. she's an NPC in a world built for PCs and there's nothing she can do about it
