It鈥檚 been a long time since I posted anything here. These two photos are from Mount of Olives (Jerusalem, Israel) where me and my mother went to see my sister in May. The weather was nice and Jerusalem was cool and different. I loved the hummus, omnomnom! I will be posting some of the other pics from Israel in the future and try to keep this blog up to date (photos by dzaitsev)

These last weeks have been really busy. I spent one weekend in Turku with my good friend going to exhibitions and eating in restaurants. If you're heading towards that beautiful city, remember to visit W盲in枚 Aaltonen Museum and this exhibition. I truly recommend Hans Rosenstr枚m's Mikado, it was powerful and creepy at the same time.聽The first photos are from Turku, the other ones from Helsinki last week when we saw a glimpse of sunshine. The last one was taken today at the Olympic Stadium, apparently that is the place where snow comes to die. (photos by dzaitsev)

This is what I have been doing these past two weeks. Getting up really early to catch some exercise classes, taking busses to Espoo almost at dawn, going on field trips to different museums (in this case we went to Gallen-Kallela Museum in Espoo), eating lots of Runebergin torttus (because they are definitely the best pastries one can have) and taking pictures of funny dogs (I found that cute bulldog inside a Valintatalo when I was buying more Runebergin torttus). There are several new projects and courses that take a lot of time but seem really interesting. I'm especially looking forward to an exhibition course that involves making a project in聽EMMA. But before that I will spend this weekend in Turku doing absolutely nothing.聽(photos by dzaitsev)

Our studies started again. We visited EMMA聽on Wednesday and also got a glimpse backstage. In the future we will be working on an exhibition project and one can see the final result in spring 2016.聽
It was a fun coincidence to see Eija-Liisa Ahtila's Horizontal in EMMA. This is one of the works that almost made me cry few years ago, and I wrote about Stendhal syndrome in my study application letter. This exhibition room was a bit too big for the piece, it didn't have the same intimate feeling like it had in Kiasma. Maybe I'll bump into Horizontal again in a few years, apparently it's destiny (by dzaitsev).

China鈥檚 Rainbow Mountains
In the northwestern Gansu province of China is home to the Zhangye Danxia Landform Geological Park. The park is known for its rainbow-colored rock formations that spanned across a huge plot of land.聽The multihued rocks are the result of sandstone and other minerals that occurred over 24 million years ago due to tectonic plate movements.

This week I have been mostly doing sports in different places in Helsinki. The first pic is from Meilahti where people play tennis in bubbles during the winter time (I did some spinning for the first time of my life). It snowed yesterday evening, I hope it stays on the ground too (by dzaitsev)

Yesterday was a beautiful day. Sun was shining, it was -15 degrees and I went for a walk to Kaivopuisto seaside. There was a bridge between Uunisaari and Kaivopuisto and one could have a proper look at the open sea. (by dzaitsev)

Because it's year 2015 I decided to go wild and change the layout of my blog. It's not drastically different but now one can see the images a bit better.
This is also a good opportunity to reflect upon last year 2014. In January I have just stopped working in an art museum and was looking for new work opportunities. I also spent lots of time sh'baming at the gym and arranged new exhibitions for my hallway gallery. In February and March I applied to study curating and actually got in! Meanwhile I had an internship in a kindergarten and did some freelance graphic design jobs. In late spring I moved to another room in my flat, had a last exhibition in the hallway gallery and finished last projects in Central Finland. Summer went by really quickly and in August it was time to move to Southern Finland. I had blast cycling around Helsinki and living next to the seaside. I spent few weeks in Italy and in September my studies began. Quickly I made lots of new friends, had an existential crisis with my studies and got a job from the university. In October we spent a week in St.Petersburg and had busy time with our studies. At the same time I enjoyed Unisport's practically free exercise classes and took a few cross training courses. Then came Christmas and New Year and here I am, ready to start my studies again and looking forward to new project opportunities.聽

Happy New Year btw! Even though I rarely make New Year's promises this year is dedicated to few things: 1) finally taking charge of my finances and saving as much money as possible 2) getting into shape and gaining proper abs. This year is also quite exciting: I'm moving into a new apartment, travelling few times abroad (hopefully to the other side of the world) and starting new art projects.聽
After Christmas and New Year's it feels like spring already, even though in Helsinki proper winter just started. There's not much snow but it sure is cold. Today we had a rare visitor, sun came out and tomorrow is also supposed to be sunny. Seaside with sunshine (and freezing wind) sounds tempting for a day stroll (photo by dzaitsev)

I spent Christmas with my family in Central Finland. Holidays were great and lazy: we baked some buns, made some porridge, ate a lot (of chocolate), went for strolls and I met old and new friends. Nice! (by dzaitsev)

My father took me on a weekend trip to Hemsedal, Norway. I tried snowboarding for the first time of my life and already on the second day I could do some turns properly, nice! It's been a long time when I saw proper snow, hope it's going to be white Christmas in the centre of Finland (photos by dzaitsev)

Tired of sitting all day and all week in lectures. Feeling a bit sorry for cutting my hair short again. Waiting eagerly the first day of Christmas vacation. Too many things to do and too little time and energy to go to the gym.聽(Photo by dzaitsev聽from few week ago when we had a workshop in Suomenlinna)

Winter is almost here and it's getting darker and darker. That's why it's nice to think back this summer's trip to Italy where it was warm, sunny and one could swim in the Mediterranean every day.聽
Things are now pretty great. I got to join one cool art project, got a university job as an assistant and have really nice people around me. But for some reason I have the urge to travel somewhere far. Maybe Porvoo next week will do (photo by dzaitsev)
