trick me
hye-jin wasn’t one for comedy, but this was the funniest thing she’s ever seen. the look on sumin’s face was priceless, so much so that hye-jin was struggling to keep a straight face. she hadn’t really meant for her comment to create such a misunderstanding, but it was too late to back down now and it’d be a lie if hye-jin said she wasn’t enjoying the confusion spread across sumin’s features. “no, yeah, you didn’t hear?” hye-jin said, feigning surprise, “even i know, and i barely talk to anyone.” maybe it was mean, but to be fair, hye-jin’s never been the kindest person out there.

Break Me:
“it’s funny; i guess i never thought this would happen,“ hye-jin mumbled. her back was pressed against the wall, knees pressed up to her chest. sniffling, she continued, “i really-i opened up to you. everything inside me said i shouldn’t...but i ignored it.“ the same alarms that were ringing the day they met were going off now, but hye-jin didn’t stop talking. “i told myself that i was irrational, that finally being honest with someone would make me feel better. everyone says i need to stop being so stiff, and i-i really tried.” she took a gasping breath, trying to keep the tears from coming back. she hated this, hating that she was the one on the floor, the one who was laying it all out. years of stilted silence had taught her that the last thing to do when you’re hurt is to let it out, because when it starts coming out it just doesn’t stop. in a word, she felt broken.
“but...i guess it’s-it’s people like you who...remind me...why i have to be with this.“ she bit back a sob. she wanted to be angry so bad, but all she could feel was empty, bleeding out from the stabbing feeling in her back she never thought she would feel again. her final words came out in a cracked whisper. “i want you to go away.“

forgive me
hye-jin scoffed. “’i’m sorry?’ what am i supposed to do with ‘i’m sorry?’” her nose scrunched as she looked at seungyoun with ice-cold eyes. “i didn’t ask for your apologizes, they don’t do me any good. what would be helpful was if you could fix what you did, but clearly you can’t.” her mind spiraled into if only’s, wishing that she had never had to deal with seungyoun in the first place. but it was to late for if onlys. now the only thing she could do is get rid of him. “i never wanted anything to do with you in the first place, seungyoun. you come into my life, leave this ridiculous mess, and when i finally think i’m done with you you waltz back in asking to be forgiven?” the more she talked, the more she worked herself up, fury blooming on her tongue. “forgiveness is for people who matter. you, you’re nothing but a nuisance. i don’t want anything to do with you.” hye-jin struggled to keep her voice steady, trying not to betray how hurt she was. she wasn’t supposed to feel hurt in the first place, it wasn’t that big of a deal, but it was too late to stop now. “no. i don’t forgive you. maybe if you’re lucky i’ll forget. that’s the best you’re gonna get from me.”
hye-jin stepped around seungyoun with a bitter taste in her mouth. she clenched her fists in hopes that they would stop shaking. the only thing she wanted was to be far away from here. she was ready to forget.

[there are two sides to every argument]
Hye-Jin is no stranger to debate, both on and off the stage. She was the club captain at her highschool, and though she wasn’t the most popular person in the world they wouldn’t have made it to regionals without her. Hye-Jin’s measured speech and calm approach is what truly allowed her arguments to shine, quietly demolishing any chance the opponent had of winning. She was proud of her preparedness, confident in her methods, and not in the mood to change. So when Yoori thought otherwise, Hye-Jin was not having it.
They had just been introduced, and after acclimating themselves with the year’s topic a mock debate was in order. Their adversaries were barely competent and it was an easy win, but the Hye-Jin was far from satisfied. Yoori had completely undermined her (albeit unspoken) plan and though they hadn’t lost the match, Hye-Jin was not a fan. Yoori was loud, aggressive in excess and in the most frustrating way. She was overly emphatic about all of their points, not to mention how she treated the opposition.
Afterwards the two teams separated in order to wrap up before the end of the meeting. Hye-Jin wasn’t happy with how they had done, but she kept her distaste to herself. When Yoori began commenting on her methods, Hye-Jin tensed but tried not to argue, at least not yet. She knew that her way worked, and she didn’t need anyone else’s opinion on them.

[cold shoulder]
It’s way too cold for this.
Just because spring was on it’s way doesn’t mean it could come fast enough for Hye-Jin. She only owned a handful of sweaters, a decision she regretted every year yet one she continued to make. Hye-Jin also had an acute hatred of doing laundry, so her current mission, getting to the laundry room to wash her three articles of warm clothing, was not an exciting one.
Shivering, Hye-Jin shoved her dirty clothes into a duffel bag and ducked out of her room, praying that she wouldn’t run into anyone. If there ever was a day to talk to Hye-Jin, (there wasn’t) it most certainly wasn’t today.
She was so close, so so close to making it without having to deal with anyone when Aini appeared. Hye-Jin wasn’t sure where she came from or what cotton candy-flavored hole she crawled out of but hopefully she’d go back to it as soon as possible. The girl’s smile could’ve burned through ozone layers. Clenching her jaw, Hye-Jin pushed past her, ignoring her blindingly bright greetings. Maybe she did prefer the cold after all.

[if only i had a witty name for this]
Hye-Jin wasn’t sure how she got stuck with the photography club captain, but she was sure he was just as elated as she was. Apparently his name was Daejoon, and from the way people spoke about him his name wasn’t one she’d easily forget.
Of course she had heard the murmurs as the first assignments of the year were handed out. The president wanted to try this new photojournalism project, a way to merge two of their successful clubs. And for whatever reason, one Hye-Jin herself wasn't privy to, they decided to pair her with Daejoon for the first article. The two didn't have much to work with. The journalism captain called it "free reign." Hye-Jin thought otherwise.
So now she was on her way to the quad, her laptop bag slung over her shoulder and her hair pulled back in a way that practically screamed no-nonsense. It was cold but the weather was decent enough to meet outside, and seeing as this was the easiest place to meet and Hye-Jin wanted this over as soon as possible, the quad was the best option. Hopefully they could meet up, divide the work, and go their separate ways. Hye-Jin sat on an empty bench and pulled out her phone, waiting for Daejoon to approach. Now that she thought about it she didn’t have a very clear idea of what he looked like. She’d figure it out.

henlo (& also some plot things)
I think this is a thing people do???? basically these are the kinds of relationships I'm thinking of for hye-jin based on where she is as a character. obviously these aren't the only connections she can have, this are just the ones that came to mind at first.
N°1
An on again off again friendship. Hye-Jin has the personality of a very rude soft-boiled egg, so whoever has the guts to stick around (or just get stuck with her) might find out that maybe she's not the worst? Could be an obnoxiously friendly person, a classmate or someone from the same club, (ie. broadcast, radio, debate or journalism) bonus points if they're stuck with her bc then she can't back out. I'm a slut for slow burn, so it wouldn't be a quick plot. potential for romantic interest but that's way in the future (just demi tingz). Please have the guts to fight with her, we both know she's a problematic mess she just gotta get over it. No gender or sexuality specific.
N°2
Flirty frenemy/possible enemies to lovers type thing. Gotta have those big brains, bonus points if they're actually smarter than hye-jin. Preferably someone she interacts with in an academic setting. Basically the pair that kinda makes people wonder what their relationship is. Are they friends? Are they enemies? Is there sexual tension? Who knows. There probably wouldn't be a lot of purposeful interaction until character development ensues, but they do have the potential to drag Hye-Jin out of her shell. No gender or sexuality specific. Massive potential for miscommunication, unrequited feelings, all that jazz.
N°3
Absolutely The Worst. They legit just hate each other. Is this because I love angry interactions between characters? Absolutely. Does this relationship have the emotional maturity of two fifth-graders on a playground? You betcha. You have been warned.
Okey so those are the main Thoughts™ I have, if you think your muse could fit here, please let me know! Also I know I am krp bby but if you think my girl would be a good fit for your muse or one of their plots come harass me about it, i can almost promise I'm down. I'm not exactly the type to throw myself into a community, but everyone here seems v. nice and im looking forward to meeting all of you!
