Do people even read the IDW comics anymore? I haven’t seen a Sonic comic in stores for months and I don’t see people talking about it much online anymore.

I genuinely don’t understand the hype for Frontiers. It was bland as hell and it tried too hard to be edgy.

Woah! Have you heard of this right-wing bigot called r4cs0? This clown has been going around to a ton of different fandoms on Tumblr spreading all kinds of Trumper misinformation, fascist hate mongering and bizarre rage bait. He told Taylor Swift fans that she didn't endorse Kamala because of something to do with rigging the super bowl. And he told Star Wars fans that George Lucas needs to apologize to the Pope???

But I'm warning you because he says Sega and Sonic fans are next on his hit list! He has this whole rant typed up about how Sega is the most evil game developer in history. It's got all kinds of crazy stuff in there about rigged pachinko machines and Blast Processing being a made up term. And he claims that the Yakuza tried to kill the CEO of Sega in 2017 over a dispute regarding a missing Saturn game. But the worst accusation he has is some kind of conspiracy that Sega brainwashed people into thinking they were football players with subliminal advertising in a Dreamcast game from 20 years ago! He calls it "Beta-7"

What scares me most about this fascist is that he is a white cisgender straight male living in northern Idaho. He regularly talks about how it's legal to hunt endangered wolves in Idaho and he says that for every person on Tumblr that tries to argue with him about Sega, he will retaliate by killing two wolves!

We really should stop talking of the mandates because we CAN'T be sure if they're passed to us without any misinterpretation or missing info

"But Ian Flynn said-" WELP, he also contradicted himself several times, we SHOULDN'T take his word as absolute, and I don't say that for hate or whatever, the dude is a human, works under several deadlines, and is really down in the franchise's hierarchy, he's very subjected to mistakes and forgetfulness AND is contractually prohibited of just telling some stuff

I want Surge and Kit's redemption arc over with already. Kinda getting sick of this whole "cycle of abuse" situation going on. I shouldn't have to be scared of reading Sonic because it might trigger memories of abuse.

I genuinely hate it when I see people make Chris Thorndyke bratty or jealous of Sonic and his friends just because he idolizes Sonic and is rich. He's a neglected child who's parents barely pay any attention to him. Of course he's going to latch onto the people who actually hang out with him or are like older brother figures. Of course he's going to want them to stay around.

I think Sonia and Manic from Sonic Underground deserved better. They should get to come back. (Mainly manic because I love him so much.)

I think Rouge should have more bat features. Give her fluffy neck fur or make her main body white or something, because right now the only fur that's on her entire body is on her head and the rest is plain skin. On that note give Amy the spiky back like with the other male hedgehogs.

my favorite type of sonic and jet's rivalry is Jet thinking he and Sonic were dating at some point while Sonic thought he was a cool rival, and jet shows off to sonic so much because he wants to get back at him for dumping him

I wish Sega let the characters properly act their ages for once. All the mandates about Sonic not being able to show strong emotions is bullshit, especially with the whole Metal Virus arc. He's 15/16, and has to watch his friends become infected with nothing he can do about it, while also being blamed for the whole thing. There's lots of adults who would break down under those circumstances.

Another example is they need to let Tails act eight sometimes. I get that he's a genius, but whenever he shows even a semblance of the fact that he's eight, it's the cutest thing. Let the kids be kids.

(this is also slightly towards the people who hate IDW sonic for not killing anyone and that kinda stuff. He's 16.)

my take: People who enjoy the recent games (like forces, unleashed, ect) are valid, until they start aggressively shitting on anyone who thinks anything other than the games are good/the games have flaws. Calling people who like the comics Ian Flynn cultists or insulting people for liking some of the writing in the shows immediately makes me disregard your opinion.

Don't act all high and mighty because you think your opinions are fact. (yes this is partially directed to a specific blog I keep seeing in character tags.) (This is ALSO directed to hardcore comic fans. Don't shit on people who like the games.)

as someone who was really hyped with Surge, I have to disagree with that prev anon. She's a completely and wildly inconsistent character, therefore by every objective mean, she's a terrible character. Period.

she starts well with all her angsty of not understanding why she hates and wanna destroy Sonic and yet being uncapable to just think on anything else, so grabbing onto it in the most violent and wild way possible because that's the only thing her brain can think of and she can't feel like stop until she reaches this goal, which proves itself impossible time and time again because it's SONIC THE HEDGEHOG.

but then she disappears of the comics for 10 issues and when she finally returns it's revealed to us she has not tried, not even thought, any new move and is immediately put to work under the wing of a BORIIIIIIIIIING ass villain, who also supposedly helped Starline to kidnap her and- WHY IS NOT HER SMACKING HIM RIGHT THERE?!?! WHY DID SHE ACCEPT THIS PLAN TO INFILTRATE?! WHY ALL SUDDENLY SHE LIKES BEING A HERO?! didn't she hate this very concept?

i don't get what's so great about sonic boom. not that i dislike any of the characters there but i don't think it's that funny... the humor feels kind of dated at times... at least shadow is good

hi! not that i'm aware of. i don't get many responses these days, so that could be just the case. nothing has changed from the old posts except an occasional tweaking of the tagging system to make sure it is more consistent.

guys im gonnna be so honest but i dont see the hype about surge. she's not a bad character by any means, i just don't see why the fandom loves her so much. she just feels like the "sonic rival" trope done again for the eighteenth time and maybe sega's just running out of things to make each rival unique or appealing anymore. i feel like knuckles, shadow, blaze, and silver are all done much better in regards to this trope
