You eventually got back the Dawn Winery after a long day of taking on a commission, which was to clear out a camp of Hilichurls that had two Abyss Mages. You knew it was too much for you, but you did it anyways.

Unfortunately, the commission didn’t go as expected, you got injured and you were quite pissed about it. You were beating yourself up internally.

Diluc heard the door open and your pet cat, Luna, walking towards you excitedly and meows as if she was telling you about her day. You sit on the ground and start petting Luna.

“Ah, my darling Y/N, welcome-“ he interrupts himself mid-sentence when he notices the bruises from the Hilichurls. “Darling? What happened? Are you alright?” He walks closer to you and looks at you with his worried eyes.

You don’t respond, distracted by Luna. Diluc puts his hand on their shoulder to get your attention. “My sweet, I’m talking to you. Please respond. How was your day? Did your commission go as—“

You sigh, thinking of a response. Diluc’s question echoes in your mind over and over. You stop petting Luna, getting more and more mad at the question.

You stand up, not saying a single word. You head upstairs into your shared room and grab your jacket, holding it close to you.

You end up confusing Diluc. “Love, what’s the matter? It’s unlike you to just not talk. Usually your (eye color) eyes are sparkling as you tell me and Luna about your day.”

You walk towards the door and Diluc gently grabs ahold of your wrist, looking concerned. He knows that something isn’t right, so he stands in front of the door, preventing you from leaving. That pisses you off even more.

“Nothing’s wrong, Diluc, I promise! Now let me leave!” You shout.

Diluc shakes his head. “Not until you explain what’s wrong! Something’s definitely bothering you, Y/N! You just get this… look in your eyes. Please, Y/N, just tell me-”

“NO.” You respond.

Your words confuse him. “No? Whatever do you mean by ‘no’? No as in ‘no, I won’t tell you’ or ‘no, nothing’s wrong’?”

“No, I just-“ you interrupt yourself mid-sentence, thinking that it’s pointless to just tell him.

Pookie that’s not a good idea-

You put on your jacket. “Y/N, where in the wide world Teyvat are you going?” Diluc asks, looking concerned and then worried as he looks at you. He walks closer to you and tries to hold your hands to kiss them, but you deny him completely.

“OUT. Don’t even think about following me.” You respond almost too quickly.

Diluc starts to get upset. “Y/N, we aren’t done talking. It’s childish to just storm out of the manor, you need to be mature person about all of this and talk to me, like an adult, instead of giving me the silent treatment.”

“Childish? You think I’m being childish? Ha.” You laugh, but there’s no amusement.

“Yes, you’re being childish. And immature. Even Klee wouldn’t act like this, she wouldn’t lash out like you’re doing currently!”

You gasp silently, not used to Diluc raising his voice, much less at you.

“Don’t you DARE compare me to a CHILD! I’m not a-“ You respond, before Diluc cuts you off. “Then ACT like it, dammit!” Diluc angrily responds back.

You become absolutely surprised. Diluc swore. He never swore unless he was absolutely livid. Y/N pushes Diluc out of the way, causing Diluc to snap out of his anger for a moment and even he looks surprised.

“Wait, Y/N, I-“ Diluc starts to say as he reaches for you, but stops when the door slams behind you, echoing out the manor, startling Luna a bit.

He stands still, trying to process what the hell just happened. Diluc makes his way towards the couch and just… sits there. Luna jumps onto the couch, purring against Diluc and wrapping her tail around him.

“They deserved to hear that they were being childish, because they WERE acting like a child!” Diluc crosses his arms and then listens to their pet cat purring loudly. He looks down at the cat and sighs.

He is 100% a cat dad

“Luna? Not now.”

Diluc eventually stands up and makes a cup of tea to calm down, without even realizing that it’s your tea, your favorite tea. He drinks the tea and is almost instantly reminded of you and his eyes widen.

“This is… their favorite tea. I remember when I got this tea for them for their birthday because they like this floral tea and its oddly calming properties. That day, I poured them a cup of tea and Archons, did their eyes light up and it was so cute…” Diluc blushes a bit.

“T-They are so cute. Archons, why did I act on my anger like that? My late father would be so disappointed.” He then realizes that an hour has gone by and he starts to think about you, whether or not you’re okay.

Eventually, he hears a knock at the door, causing him to stop talking to himself and immediately looks at the door. Adeline starts to walk towards the door, but Diluc waves his hand.

“Thanks, Adeline, I appreciate it, but I can get the door.” He smiles appreciatively and Adeline smiles. “Alright, Master Diluc.”

Diluc walks towards the door. “I hope this is them…” He slowly opens it to see you drenched in rain, shivering and cold. He gasps.

“Y-Y/N?! Come, come inside. Oh, you’re absolutely drenched and cold, I can see you shivering. I’ll have Adeline prepare you a bath immediately but are you injured in any way?” Diluc asks, worried about you. You shake your head. “I-I’m okay, j-just cold.”

Diluc nods and looks at Adeline. “Adeline, please get some warm clothes of theirs.”

She nods and heads into their room.

If somebody hurt you, lord help them. They’re dead meat. He would send out his pet hawk (the one from his idle animations) in a heartbeat and wouldn’t hesitate to take care of who hurt you. He wouldn’t obviously kill them, just hurt them a bit.

Adeline returns with some warm pajamas and Y/N gets changed. They emerge from the bathroom as you smile at Adeline.

“Y/N, sweetheart, come sit with me, please?” Diluc asks and you nod, now dried off. You sit on the couch and Diluc brings a cup of tea for you, which specifically says “Future Ragnvindr” or “Mx. Ragnvindr” (whichever you prefer) in cursive.

He sits next to you, takes off his gloves and puts his coat on you to warm you up. He wants to pull you into his lap, but he doesn’t, in case you still might be upset.

After a bit, you warm up and move a little closer to Diluc. “Diluc, I’m sorry… for lashing out like that… I was real upset about the commissions did today.”

Diluc looks down at you, wanting you to elaborate. “Elaborate. What happened, Y/N.”

You sigh and collect your thoughts. Diluc waits patiently for you to respond.

“The commission I did today was supposed to pay really well, 3,000 mora! It was that much because it had two Abyss Mages and a few Hilichurls. I knew it was a bad idea but I wanted that mora to take you on a fancy date. I-“

Diluc cuts you off, with a determined look in his eyes. “A date? How sweet of you, dear. I’m curious though, is the commission still available?”

You sigh. “I doubt it, somebody probably already completed it by now. I did my best, but I guess it wasn’t good enough…”

Diluc pats you on the head and kisses your forehead gently. “You still did your best though, that’s what matters. How are your injuries? Are they severe?”

You shake your head. “Nah, nothing too serious, I heard of a medicinal hot spring over by Starsnatch Cliff, so I plan on going there once this rain stops to get my injuries healed up. It takes a while for them to heal completely, probably an hour or so.”

“Hmm. Alright, I’ll escort you there too, can’t have a monarch such as yourself going by themself, correct?”

You nod and giggle. “An escort from Diluc Ragnvindr himself? Sounds like fun.” You wink.

Diluc chuckles silently and nods. “Only the best for the best partner and future (or current) spouse in all of Teyvat.”

“I apologize for cutting you off earlier. What was it you were trying to say, my sweet?” Diluc asks, pulling you into his lap.

You blush a bit, Diluc has never pulled you into his lap before. “I-I was trying to apologize for snapping. I was just… so frustrated that the commission ended up being a failure and I took my frustration out on you. I’m sorry. Can you forgive me?”

Diluc nods. “Yes, I can. And I’m sorry too. Instead of calling you “childish”, “immature” and comparing you to a child, I should’ve approached it from a different angle, so to speak. It was rude of me to say such things. But… to avoid something like this in the future, what say you to coming to me and strategizing?”

You nod and the rain eventually stops. “The rain stopped. And there’s a rainbow too!!”

Diluc thinks that they’re so cute when their eyes sparkle like that as he kisses their cheek. “I’m glad the rain stopped, Y/N. Now then, are you ready to go to this hot spring you were talking about earlier?”

You nod excitedly. “You bet! I just have to grab my bathing suit and I’ll be ready to go!” Y/N stands up and happily walks towards their shared bedroom and head inside their closet. Not too long after, you exit the room with a bag, with the suit to change into.

“Is my beloved Y/N ready to go?” Diluc asks with a warm smile. You nod and he holds his hand. “You said it that it was by… Starsnatch Cliff, right?” You nod with sparkles in your eyes. “Alright, we best get going. Shall we?”

Diluc takes off his gloves, putting them in his pocket and extends his hand to you and you take it with a happy smile on your face. He takes off his gloves because he likes the feeling of your hand in his.

After some time, you both find the hot spring. “Ah, here’s that hot spring. I must unfortunately step away for a moment, I’ll be back, okay?” Diluc asks and you tilt your head to the side in confusion. “It’s to get some fruit, I know they have those apples you like so much and I’m going to pick some for you.”

You trust Diluc and you nod. “Alright, see you in a bit.” Diluc kisses your forehead and nods. “See you soon, my sweet.”

Some time passes and you start to wonder why he isn’t back yet. “What is taking him so long…? He was just going to pick apples. Archons, did Venti take all of the apples again…? I hope not. They’re so flavorful, crisp and delicious!”

You step inside of the hot spring in your swimwear. “Ahh, this is wonderful! The warmth from this water is just out of this world! Sure, the water stings a lot, but I think it’s already doing wonders for my injuries!”

Diluc eventually comes back with a bag of Mora and he looks down at you and he’s all like:

His blush causes you to blush. “Oh, D-Diluc, welcome back!” You exclaim nervously. Diluc doesn’t respond and just drops the bag of Mora next to you. “3,000 Mora. Plus… a little extra 1,000. For you.”

“Wait, where did this come from?” You ask. “The commission was still open. I still got you those apples you adore too.” Diluc sits nearby, pulls out his claymore and cuts the apples into slices. “F-For you.”

You blush and take a bite, with sparkling eyes. “Archons, these apples just taste so much better when you-“

Diluc takes off his coat, why tf is he wearing that coat thing when it’s warm outside?? He sits next to you and lets his hair down. You blush madly, having only seen him with his hair down when you both sleep and in the morning.

“You are just so attractive, Diluc…” you accidentally blurt out. You and Diluc both blush madly. “I-I’m sorry for randomly blurting that out, b-but I wasn’t lying though, you are real attractive!”

Diluc clears his throat. “Th-Thanks, Y/N. Have you been in this hot spring the whole time I was away?” You nod. “Yup! Sure have!” Diluc puts his hand in the water, noticing how hot it is.

“Y/N, this water is really warm, please get out before you pass out. I was taking care of that commission for probably 30 minutes or so, those damn Abyss Mages continuously had tricks up their sleeve.”

You nod and climb out of the hot spring. “See? It’s like I didn’t get hurt earlier today. No cut, bruise or anything like that! Neat, huh!” You ask with sparkling eyes.

Diluc nods. “You’re still warm, let’s wait until you cool off and then we can head back to the Dawn Winery, I’m sure little Luna is throwing a fit or playing with that one cheese toy with catnip in it that she loves so much. With Luna, you never know.”

You nod and laugh. “Yup! That’s Luna for ya! But what you suggested sounds like a plan to me.” You climb out of the hot spring and sit in the grass, with Diluc sitting next to you.

Time skip an hour or so.

You stand up and stretch. “Alright, Diluc, are you ready to go?” Diluc nods and takes your hand as you both walk home.
