On recent controversy

I've seen controversy about my mods, so here's my comment.

I don't force anyone to pay for my mods, I give them away for a FREE subscription on Patreon. All of my mods are free, and they always will be. If you don't want to sign up on Patreon, that's your choice. However, I can also choose how and on what platform to publish free content. And I would gladly publish my free content on other platforms, if they actually provided me with the tools necessary for my work. By the way, I have open statistics on Patreon, and you can see that with 26k subscribers, I earn $241 per month. If you think my main goal is to earn money through engagement, then I'm very clearly unsuccessful lol.

All I'm getting from my free mods are recognition and donations. There's no other community platform that supports donations, or normalizes them. And the reason the mods are behind a free subscription is PRECISELY because unless I do that, there's no community, no discussion, no involvement - people just download the mod and forget about it. Writing mods when no one will even bother to comment on the best of your creations is a thoroughly miserable experience.

If you think you can do without feedback and just enjoy the process itself, I believed that as well. How did that turn out? I burned out for several months and couldn't bring myself to do anything. If you still insist that this is how I should working on my mods, then there is an easy way to experience it – just delete all of my mods and never install them again. This will help you understand how it was for everyone a few months ago.

The only kind of monetization I have, besides donations, is early access. This is a commonplace and allowed by EA rules kind of monetization. All of my mods that have ever been on the Early Access had to be tested on a small group of people - because no one would ever want a broken, buggy mod.

And stop calling my modification an "edit." That is factually wrong. I would never publish another modder's creation with my changes. I write my own code to create add-ons that extend or change the original mod's behavior. There's no work being stolen or appropriated, because I deeply respect the time and effort of my fellow mod creators, I respect their terms of use, and I always preserve all authorship and credits. Nevertheless, if they are not comfortable with my add-ons, they can reach me via DM to discuss things. Of course, I will comply with their wishes.

I hope that clears things up. Of course, you can share the direct SFS links to my mods on the Reddit or any other plarform, or use them – in case you don't want me to work on my mods anymore. But then you don't really get to complain.

No Autonomous Fairy Activities

First of all, I saw Vladislaus Straud in Fairy Form in a video and fell in love with him. Blame TikTok for this preview, not me.

This mod disables autonomy for the following fairy activities:

• Splash in Water (play in a sink)

• Bath in Nature (bath in a plant)

• Shrink and Play (play with many game objects)

• Shrink and Sleep (sleep on a piano or in a dollhouse)

• Fairy Home interactions (throw dance party, take a bath, sleep, regenerate emotional force)

• Social Interactions (in the special Fairy -> Social category)

For each group of activities I wrote a separate package in case you don't want to disable all of these activities. And you can use the MERGED version to disable all activities with one file.

No Ailments

For some reason, you can't disable ailments entirely in the game options; you can only reduce the chance of them occurring. With this mod, however, there will be no ailments at all.

Slower Fairy Appetite

The Enchanted by Nature pack has been released! As a big fan of fairies, I enjoy the pack a lot. However, I think that a fairies emotional appetite decays too quickly. After all, they feed on emotions, so why are emotions less nutritious than regular food for humans?

So I created two versions of this motive: two and three times slower. Choose whichever you like.

Deadly Vampires

Updated for 1.115 version!

RISK OF BLOOD LOSS AND DEATH

Now, if your sim is bitten by a vampire hard enough or several times (this is possible with the "bites without limits" module), they will have a certain chance of blood loss, which will send him to the hospital.

You can cancel this action and visit the hospital via the 'Travel' menu when you are ready. However, your sim will die in a few hours if they don't receive treatment!

As a result of the surgery, the sim will either survive and gain Fear of the Dark and the corresponding buff, or die from blood loss. The outcome is affected by lifestyles, CAS, and reward traits!

UNLIMITED BITES

Vampires can now bite sims without waiting for them to recover from a previous bite. Pregnant and non-blooded sims (vampires, ghosts, bots, skeletons) still cannot be bitten.

Pay Rent Fix

I guess most of you who have played with residential rentals have already figured out that the rent bills are broken. The bills information dialogue simply states that the rent costs 0 simoleons. When the bills are placed in your mailbox, you can only pay for housing and utility bills, not rent.

Some time ago, the 'Force Bills Due' cheat worked, but now it's not an option either.

This bug tends to appear with the NPC landlord, Panya Lee, as usual, but it may also happen with playable landlords.

Hey, Sim-dumpers and custom save creators...

Your custom Sims are gorgeous. Your custom saves have great concepts. But it's not okay to upload other people's custom content and mods alongside your tray and save files.

I get it — it's soooo much easier, for you, to just upload your whole folder than it is to make a list of the CC and mods people should download to make sure that Sim looks like the one in your picture etc. But this is how players end up with messed-up Mods folders full of

duplicates, including both older and newer versions of mods/CC,

mods that conflict with each other,

broken mods and CC,

mods they don't know they have because they didn't consciously install them (so when one is on a "broken" list, they don't know it's there to remove it),

mods they don't know the full effects of and possibly wouldn't want if they'd seen the description,

and wrongly installed mods.

PLEASE STOP. Do your fans — and your fellow creators and all the volunteers doing support — a huge favour and take the time to make that list instead.

Side note: If you're found to be redistributing other people's creations, your own mod and CC updates will not be promoted by me on the EA Forums Broken and Updated Mods and CC list, or on any other mod-news site I know of.

Eat Autonomous Only When Hungry (Public Access 06.06)

This mod stops your sims from cooking or grabbing food (including snacks) when their hunger motive is yellow (by default, this triggers them to look for food). Now, sims only cook or grab food when they are hungry.

This mod affects all the cooking tools I found, from the fridge and microwave to the candy maker and cauldron.

Fixed Ping Pong Moodlets (Public Access 30th April)

You know those annoying 'supernaturally gifted' or 'defeated death' moodlets that keep popping up when there is no Grim Reaper on the lot? It causes a ping pong game - no matter who a sim is playing with, the result applies as if their player was the Grim Reaper.

I fixed it so that these moodlets only appear when you challenge Grim to save someone. Otherwise the moodlets won't appear.

No Autonomous Show Off Tattoos

Just as it says, sims stop autonomously showing off their tattoos. I especially hate this stupid autonomous thing while I have sims with scars. Sure, babies, keep showing off lmao.

Fix Roommate Localization Strings

Just a small fix for a role of university roommates. The wrong string is used there, but it's unclear in gender-neutral languages because the role name depends on the gender. It might be useful for Russian, Italian, Spanish or German speaking players.
