Exhibition Review
End Of Year Exhibition
1. How does the flyer/poster advertise the Exhibition? The poster stands out, clear/bold writing and simple description.
2. What is the suitability of gallery space? How is the exhibition laid out? The exhibition is in Theatre Royal based on 2 floors. Loveley venue with big spiral stairs. The portraits are on the first floor and then landscapes on the second. Spacious enough to let people easily walk around and see, each image is matched other images that suit it best.
3. How has the work been mounted? Is this appropriate for the work? Every image is A3 mounted on white boards and all have black frames. Although there is a big variety of work, they all have same frames which help the work look better altogether and flow together.
4. Who made the work? HND2 students from City of Glasgow College
5. Who did they make it for, who is the audience? We made it for ourselves/college projects/graded unit. Its our best work from the whole year, The audience is families/ friends, other students ( everyone/anyone)
6. How does it make you feel? I’m happy and proud, feeling releaved yet nervous for the future.
7. If the work has a title does it make you think about images differently? The work had no titles except our name, I think sometimes titles can impact the work, sometimes it can make what your looking at a bit more clear but other times the title doesn’t always make sense.
8. How would I describe it to someone later? A large variety of different subjects such as landscapes, portraits and still life produced by students.
9. Does the photographs make you want to ask questions, what are these? Yes, a lot of the work made me want to ask questions, especially some of the more abstract stuff which you weren’t quite sure what it is that was photographed ect.
10/11. Is the photograph valuable? How do you know? Is work for sale and who might buy? Yes, the work is for sale, it’s £120 framed, £90 unframed. Anyone might buy it if they like the work. Yes, the work is valuable to the person who shot it as a lot of time, effort and hard work went into doing it and to a high standard,
12. What information is available about artists? Under each image it said our names. We also had business cards with contact information, The poster stated it was work by HND2 Students from City of Glasgow.
13. Who Organised the Exhibition and who selected the work? Lecturers/ students, the lectueres selected the date, location, frames and size on canvases. Students and lecturers helped to choose images in workshop for exhibition. Had different teams made up of students with different jobs for exhibition.

I have been watching this FirstMan photography Youtube channel for quite awhile. I first found it when researching for my HND1 project. The guy that does it really explains things well and makes stuff easy to follow and you learn a lot from his videos. He has quite a lot of landscape photography videos. These really helped me in my project and it was fun watching them and learning new things.

I found this video of Victoria Siemer showing her images from her geometric reflection series and showing how she edited them, really interesting to watch as she was my main inspiration for this project. She has a few different videos where she talks about her work and shows her she edits or goes about editing etc

This is one of the tutorials I found on Youtube for editing landscape images. I found this video really helpful but also really fascinating to see the transformation between the two images.

Exhibition Review
The Fire of Ideas - Street Level
How does the flyer/poster advertise the exhibition?
Flyer/leaflet of work. Description about it + issues and his work ect
What is the suitability of the gallery space? How is the exhibition laid out?
Spacious, plenty of room to walk round and view the work. Laid out well, easy to view/look at.
How has the work been mounted? Is this appropriate for the work?
The work has white frames, I think it suits the work well and helps the colours stand out.
Who made the work?
It was a combination of Brodsky working with the original photographer who added text and colour.
Who did they make it for, who is the audience?
I think the work doesn't have a certain set audience, it’s for people who take an interest in that type of work or the War ect.
How does it make you feel?
I like the work and its a different twist to photography but I think I prefer the images without the colour and the text. The text does add somewhere description but I think the orginal images would be powerful enough by themselves.
If the work has a title does it make you think about the image/s differently?
No it doesn't, the title tells you where they took place.
How would I describe it to someone later?
If i was to describe it to someone I probably wouldn’t considered it as a photography exhibition. It is photography but changed with colour and text by someone.
Does the photograph make you want to ask questions, what are these questions?
I wouldn't say it made me want to ask questions, it’s more of an insight to things that happened in the past and to show you.
Is the photograph valuable? How do you know?
not sure.
Is the work for sale and who might buy it?
Don’t think it’s for sale.
What information is available about the artist/s?
Brodsky is an Argentine Artist + human rights activists. He owned and directed a photo agency with offices throughout Latin America. He returned to Argentina in 1994 after he fled Barcelona during the war
Who organised the exhibition and who selected the work?
Not sure, street level?
