when red is a dad taking his daughters to an amusement park hes gonna go full unhinged crazy beast mode red eyes on all the carnival games and win all of them (he found out they were rigged and that made his daughters sad) and then he almost throws up in a ride for five year olds

was green ever a popular kid? i would maybe say no. maybe he was a part of the popular kids in pallet town once, where EVERYONE was squeeing and begging him to pick them as his rival when they become trainers. red however was just some quiet dweeby boy who sometimes talks just to go on a huge "obnoxious" explanation about a random pokemon and fishes in the background. and when green is asked about the boy living next to him, he just goes "idk… hes just… my neighbor that doesnt talk… we used to play sometimes and stuff…". more and more every day, the group gets meaner about the way red is.

they treat red like a cute pet. they try to take advantage of reds gullible personality by doing the whole "this girl in pallet town likes you!!!" thing just for a few laughs. all that sort. they expect green to go along with this but green. just decides that wow my friends fucking SUCK actually and just gives the most impressive uppercut to the chins of each kid mocking reds pretty clearly autistic traits. he may be a cringe sorta mean kid but hes not THAT kind of a cringe mean kid. and thats how he loses his "cool" friend group. not that he will miss em.

of course green is made out to be the villain. some kids reach out to red to yell about how oak's grandson is a violent bloodthirsty little freak who should not be allowed near any person or pokemon. and thats where reds idea of green "having become a bully" thats written in the original red and blue manual comes from. does he fully believe this? maybe not, but thats just what the other kids told him and whatever they say must be right... right? since they are still little kids, they dont quite communicate well about this whole deal and green just gets flustered when asked what the real reason for having punched those guys' teeth out was. so now they just go on their own ways, to sit around alone in their own rooms preparing their journey and studying pokemon until RGBY happens.

permission to hardcore project on red for a second? i think one reason to his isolation is that once he became a whole child celebrity, he essentially got wholesome smol beaned like hell by the media. it sucked even harder considering it was 2000s celebrity culture.

red's heroism certainly will be remembered and he's a huge media darling! and just look at that angelic smile he did when he became a champion and the one he has in every photo taken of him! (red's eye twitches but nevermind that) yeah he's a little quirky cause of his autism, but isn't he just soooo adorable while at it?? so inspirational! those lazy autistic folks now have no excuse! dont let autism stop you etc etc. all that crap red has to hear constantly from interviewers.

needless to say he gets sick of performing this cutesy dance to the cameras almost every day. the second he expresses anything not so pleasant like meltdowns, yelling, not showing up anywhere ever and having venusaurs vine smack the fuck out of an annoying intrusive paparazzi's camera in a rage, suddenly he's not so wholesome anymore. cue the tabloids bringing in all sorts of nasty speculation about his state. it all makes red think he's become ugly, gross and creepy when his "celebrity self" was nearly perfect... just for being human rather than the saccharine uguu inspirational doll the media turned him into. and so, his rash decision is to leave it all behind.
