7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate Oh as I've gotten older I've gotten so much more of an appreciation for sculpture and ceramics? I've actually been considering taking a ceramics class at my local community college just to try it out! I've gotten to see some really cool work from local art vendors in town that really piqued my interest in it and now I want like. a whole cupboard of bespoke ceramic mugs and dishes and stuff asdlkfjs

17. Do you eat/drink when drawing? if so, what I like to have a warm drink with me when I draw! I get really cold stiff fingers so half the reason is just to touch the mug and get the blood flowing lol I used to guzzle coffee all day long but now that I'm on adhd meds I've had to cut down on it quite severely so I go for tea with lemon and honey! I usually avoid snacking just cause I don't wanna get grease and crumbs on my tablet/drawing glove, but if I do I'll keep a bag of chips and eat em with chopsticks to keep my fingers clean!

18. An estimate of how much art supplies you've broken Ahhh... I think moreso than breaking them a lot of them I simply neglect... my family knows I've been into art since I was a kid so art supplies were always a safe bet as a gift, but I often ended up with way more than I actually needed. Markers, paint, or clay especially would just dry out before I got a chance to use them up... Even with my own supplies I've gotten for myself I chronically leave stuff in drawers and lose object permanence, only to find it's gotten all sad and decrepit when I do actually reach for it. Luckily I've wound up doing a lot of art stuff with schools and summer camps lately?? So I've taken to donating that stuff to them so it actually gets used!

4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw Ohhh my god idk if this counts but I love HANDS I think they're so sexy and I've dedicated SO much study to them, probably more than anything else. I'm always trying to hone in on a stylization and rhythm that feels good for them but I just asdkfjs aim high I guess so it never feels quiet where I want it to be. I know hands are infamously hard to get right so I try to cut myself some slack... one day I'll get there...!!

9. What are your file name conventions So, I'm pretty anal about my file organization, I go by folder moreso than file name, but usually I try to name an image with at least the name of the character and one other descriptor. But where I'm EVIL is that in my usual process every few days I make a new file called "doodles mm-dd-yyyy" and stick it in a big "doodles" folder. And I do all my warmups and ideating in there, and half the time I just finish a piece in it's entirety inside that doodle document??? Which is bad for resolution/aspect ration purposes, but what's the WORSE is that half the time I don't even crop and export the image?? Especially if it's just a sketch or a WIP. I just. take a screen grab of it so I can send it to my main discord server??? Like so many drawings of mine are only found in these tiny crunchy images hosted on discord which is soooooo diabolical I have to get better about it asdlkfjs

Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways Ahh I always admire people who can do really tight/polished cell shaded styles with very clean lines, but I don't think it's something I'd love doing for myself. The type that you typically see in comics or like, fanmerch. I have a tendency to get veryyyy lost in the details and will spend way too long on lineart, and half the time I just turn my sketch into my lines anyway because I tend to overwork it lsdkfjs

24. Do your references include stock images Mmm it depends on what I'm looking for! I actually take a lot of my own ref images for poses cause often what I need is pretty specific sdlkfsj there's so many awkward and unflattering images of me in my camera roll because of it :P For bigger pieces for clients, espc when I'm doing design work, I often make reference boards with pureref and if I'm grabbing stock images that's where they'll go. Usually they're of specific lighting scenarios or refs for costumes or props! I like to have lots of refs together in those cases so that I'm getting more of an amalgamation instead of pulling from one specifically.

Thank you for sending an ask! 15. *Where* do you draw (don't drop your ip address this just means do you doodle at a park or smth) Mmm up until very recently I mostly draw at my desk at home cause I have a desktop PC rather than a laptop. But lately I've finally started to feel more comfortable with procreate and have been a little more mobile in where I can doodle (read: now I just draw sitting in my bed lol) Though, unfortunately I suffer from pretty chronic wrist and arm pain at this point, so I have to be careful about how I sit espc if I'm working on a big involved piece VV I would love to get out and do more plein air/observational stuff though, it's definitely a goal for this year!

14. Any favorite motifs Oh this made me think hard- asdkfjs perhaps the wishful answer is that I try to lean into uhhhh "scene" visual motifs for lack of a better word?? Stuff you'd doodle in your notebook in class. I like really pointy and sketchy lines, exaggerated proportions w/ big hands and feet, and bright neons. I like horizontal stripes and checker patterns. I say all this and then have no idea if that actually comes across in my work lol, I think I could (and should) go crazier with it. I think mostly cause I've been drawing a lot of my OCs who are in very high fantasy settings so my stuff has been pretty subdued

25. Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by Oh my gosh I get told all the time that I seem like I was a kingdom hearts kid, which is so fair because I always admired it from afar but I never had a playstation/a way to play it, so I knew very little about it other than that I thought it looked cool as hell. I do think I drew from Nomura's style tho, just from cultural osmosis. I think lot of the fashion/stylistic insp in my stuff that people attribute to KH actually comes from yugioh skaldfjs

28. Any art events you have participated in the past (like zines) I feel so lucky that I've gotten to do so many rad art community events of all kinds in the last few years! When I was in university I helped found an art club with some friends and we always did tons of trades and challenges and stuff so I really developed a taste for a it and met a lot of people who are into event organizing, including my partner, who is out there organizing art events with every spare waking moment they have lmao. They've literally put on several mini art fights for various fandoms at this point, it's crazy. As for zines,I've participated in good handful of fandom zines by now, but I've been particularly stoked to get to actually help organize some original zines that are focused on OC content, and that's been soooo rewarding. I really enjoyed ackee's OC food zine too! I participated in leidensygdom's secret satan art trade event this past holiday season and had an amazing time! And of course, I've also been having fun doing art fight since 2020 and hope I can find the bandwidth to participate again this year! God that got so long, I just really like community events cause it staves off the Social Media Ennui, and reminds me why art is fun and rewarding, you know?
