Not on the bird app so I’m hearing about this all secondhand, but it’s been crazy seeing these big merch artists freaking the fuck out over being asked to do the most basic self reflection on the privilege of producing things overseas to save costs

Clearly folks are not ready for any serious discussions about the impact of imperialism if someone in the community merely saying “hey this is a practice I’ve been thinking about and questioning” has caused this level of victimhood complex and pearl clutching

Can’t say I’m surprised tho because whenever the topic of big studios outsourcing animation comes up everyone suddenly gets real quiet. I agree that if you’re gonna die on the anti AI hill then you should be equally vocal about these other labor issues
