You can make this same argument with Hazbin Hotel, Angel Dust and Alastor are perhaps two of the oldest characters created by Vivziepop and as you said, they’ve been around much longer, which might explain why she’s so attached to them.

Now, let’s talk about Charlie, the ACTUAL main character of Hazbin Hotel.

This is her old design! Charlie was originally going to be a side character from early versions of Hazbin Hotel as she was created by Vivziepop much later than the guys were, plus according to the wiki:

Charlie was created during Vivziepop's time at the School of Visual Arts college, and was one of the later additions to the main cast of demon misfits.

In very early proto-drafts of what would eventually become Hazbin Hotel, a red, very steampunk themed character named Charlie was created to act as a kind of "den-mother" to the demon gang that would eventually go on to become the main cast of Hazbin Hotel.

The character featured an arm of molten lava that could change into various things. Vivziepop considers this version of Charlie to be an entirely distinct entity, with a completely disparate design and personality from her current iteration. She was also not the daughter of Lucifer; she was a mortal soul, who was planned to have died in the 1830s.

However, Vivziepop liked the name "Charlie" so much that she transferred it to the new character that now features as the protagonist of the current version of Hazbin Hotel, a character who then changed very little once she entered the cast.

So, yeah, I agree with you on that.

Is Vivziepop actually misogynistic?

No, I don't think so

But that doesn't excuse how she basically neglects her female characters

Now I want to make something clear: making a show/story more male focused or female focused, is not a bad thing. There are plenty of shows or stories that are female centered or male centered (Sailor Moon is more female centered, in fact, the male characters are more like there to help when the protagonist need; Kaiji has basically more male characters that seeing a female one is rare, but it's still good on it's on way)

The problem is that Vivzie tries very hard to say "no no, she's important! I promise" instead of being honest and admitting that maybe she doesn't have any plan for these characters.

But for now, let's focus on the male characters, shall we?

All the punching bags (Moxxie, Sir Penteus and even Blitzo) are males.

And now I want to bring up another problem quite common in the Vivziepop writing.

Tell me: who is the most abused gender when it comes to SA in those shows?

Angel Dust, Sir Penteus and Moxxie get SA, not only the last two get SA for laughs but also none of their perpetrators face any consequences for their actions.

And let's not forget the toxic relationship with Stolas and Blitzo made solely for some yaoi fanfictions.

None of the female characters receive that kind of treatment, by the way. They are not punching bags unless they are villains or just random characters in the background.

In other words, female characters cannot receive the same amount of suffering that the male characters get (whatever is for the laughs or for the drama). The only males that get basically a pass are those who are Vivzie favourites (Angel Dust, Lucifer and Stolas)

Basically, because Vivziepop cannot make her main female characters actually "suffer" the result is that no female characters get well written.

Octavia is ironically, however, the most well-written character, but it also feels like it wasn't on Vivzie's intention because in the end she gets constantly pushed away in favour of Stoltz.

All this makes you wonder: is Vivziepop favourable to certain male characters because of misogyny or there is something...MORE?

My theory is that she simply favours more male characters for her own thirst than anything (and I'm sorry for being vulgar, but I couldn't find better words)

But maybe it's me...

I’ve never understood why people are acting like Kyle is the one who pressed the button to nuke Canada when Garrison did, and we clearly saw the shock and despair on his face when he sees the consequences. Yeah he talked about it to him and « just » wanted Canadian arts erased. but come on it’s a reach to me.

Kyle was spiralling, his self esteem was the lowest we've probably seen on the show and he was calling for censorship (not defending this before yall jump me) and not warfare. Garrison was already itching to nuke somebody, Kyle just gave him an excuse.

Pilot Charlie is more joyful, whimsical and she is able to fight if necessary in contrast to Show Charlie who is obviously meant to be more dainty and passive.

I like Show Charlie but she feels more empty character wise? Compare her song "Inside of every demon is a rainbow" in the pilot to most of her musical numbers in the actual show, the differences are night and day…

I do like Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss but I have to admit that the writing for both shows isn’t best thing ever.

Canon Kyle is also smart, outspoken, compassionate, has a kind heart and cares deeply for his loved ones(especially Ike), he’s not an uwu soft boi who is often reduced to being Stan and/or Cartman’s love interest and neither he is an edgelord who hates everyone but himself.

Also, characters can be tough and sweet, these traits aren’t mutually exclusive.

I'm so uncomfortable around people who kin Kyle because a lot of them get his character so wrong?? at least in my experience, the people I've met who say they're Kyle always act so sweet but turn out to be assholes or really creepy - which is nothing like his character.

A lot of people here forget that Matt and Trey suck at writing women not just because they don’t understand them, but also due to the fact that they have no interest in writing female characters outside "yet another sexist trope disguised as satire".

The joke that sp has done multiple times in trans episodes where the “guy pretending to be a woman” bothers the other women in the bathroom with an awful massive shit has always confused me. Do Matt and Trey think women don’t get bad shits. I can promise you that woman shit is just as bad as men’s

I think it’s because he’s unfortunately one of the most overused characters from this show and so many episodes tend to be exclusively from his POV, the creators are also always flipping flopping his real intentions, fans are constantly woobifying him and even demonizing other characters to prop him up(especially Kyle), it got to a point that outsiders really think of him as a painfully overrated character that gets excused a lot by the fandom.

Another reason why Cartman gets special treatment from fans it’s because Randy has taken over a lot of his more sociopathic, bigoted traits when he got fully promoted to main character status, this is especially notorious after season 23 since the last time Cartman was genuinely a bigot was during the B plot of Board Girls, later episodes tend to portray him as being more of a petulant, mischievous child who somewhat cares about his friends, just compare Cartman from the Vaccination Special to Cartman from "Best Friends Forever", "The Passion of Jew", "Kenny Dies", "Breast Cancer Show Ever", "Pee", etc. The worst thing Cartman does in this entire special is pranking his substitute teacher, which was a far cry from what he used to be, even in the newer episodes where Cartman is supposed to be a "bigot", he is portrayed a lot differently than before, if "Cupid Ye" came out years ago, Cartman would have NOT saved the day, left alone being weirded out by Cupid Me’s actions, earlier episodes showcased him fearing and being disgusted by Jewish people, even the first few seasons had him singling out Kyle for not celebrating Christmas…

Regardless of how he’s written, Cartman is definitely not one of my favorites and I don’t think he’s the best character in the show, but I digress.

It’s really disappointing that they’re most likely only allowing adult ocs/self inserts, it just shows how Randy has became increasingly overused over time and I won’t be surprised if they use this oc/self insert adult character solely to interact with him and nothing more.

Also, the new kid is right there, why can’t they actually flesh them out or allow more than a single winner?

You know what I'm talking about. Like, no, bro. He is literally an annoying, self-righteous 10 year old nerd with curly ginger hair and anger issues who has committed litteral felonies.
