Y'know, I'll never get over how most of my physical insecurities have been eliminated because I deleted Tik Tok and Instagram. I've always had a bad relationship with my own body and my diet-- especially since I've been very engaged in online spaces before I could even read. There was always this lingering shame of being overweight in public, but now I don't feel that at all. I still feel upset about my body sometimes, but it's not about my weight. It's just gender dysphoria now. I believe that you should strive to be as healthy and happy as you can be; which may look different from person to person, and that should be loved and celebrated and accepted. I also feel that I've become a more accepting and kind person after leaving those platforms. On tumblr and bluesky, I don't see fatphobia or toxic expectations of the human body, but I think that's because it's so easy to curate what I see on these platforms. Of course, there are still terrible people here and there (for example, pro-ana tumblr), but overall, bsky and tumblr are much more acceptable and approachable places to be in.

What I've learned is that if you surround yourself with good people and positive affirmations, you can slowly learn to love yourself again, and to love others you must love yourself first
