heheh i plan to! i admit im not as fast as an artist as i used to be, but i have some ideas for these guys still. it definitely helps that a lot of folks seem to like them!! so yeah, i wanna keep making things for these funky lil fellas

hi!! i was looking thru artfight for astronomy based characters and saw yours and they're SO COOL!! i wanted to ask what was the inspiration for them they're really really cool,,

whoa this was sitting in my drafts for like 2 months, sorry about that lmaoooo.

but heheh thank you!!!! i love making personifications, and with my interests in astronomy, i obviously had to make characters for the planets! for their overall inspirations, i actually kinda based them off of fantrolls i made forever ago based on the planets. one day i was like "you know what, i wanna make actual original characters" and went from there hehee.

most of their inspirations come from factual things about the planets! for example, the sun actually isn't yellow, it's white, and peaks in the green. so, thats why sol has a predominant white/green color palette! you can probably ask about any feature from their design and i'll likely have some sort of justification for it. i also try my best to keep up with current research. for example, neptune used to have a dark blue color palette, before i switched it to a cyan to match the fact that it actually looks a lot like uranus lol.

additionally, as a rule, i try my best to not take took much inspo from mythological sources, because stuff like that is "human made". the planet mercury would have no idea we associated it with the god hermes (tho with that logic, it also wouldnt know what we named it mercury, but thats besides the point hehe). i dunno, i find that more interesting hehehe, makes it so i need to come up with more characterization on my own. i could easily make mars angry and itching for war, but instead i tried to come up with a personality for a cold wasteland that used to have the potential for life (tho he still likes a good fight here and there hehe).

i also try and keep designs and personalities realistic for the setting/worldbuilding. they all follow certain rules with how they look (you can probably tell, especially with the eyes, how stars, rocky planets, and gas giants differ). theres also rules with how much power each of them have, with more massive objects like stars generally having more power over their planets. this affects their relationships, how they view the universe, etc etc.

long story short, i think about these guys too much, and im happy theres some folks interested in them too!!

after 2 years... my laptop is finally dead asdghjasdh. its okay, i have a PC now but damn, that kinda came out of nowhere! was using it for a summer job and suddenly the hinge broke and fucked with the screen a bit. rip my shitty wheezing laptop </3 you will be missed

my poor laptop is dying </3 what did i do to deserve this except run games it wasnt built for and drop it in a backpack a few times
