Hi there! I saw that you accept requests! So, I was thinking about Wriothesley having a special person who is basically a sunshine, who loves nature, seeing the sky, singing and basically being a darling, but who has experienced very traumatic situations. But despite this they don't lose their innocence and warm smile.
I would love to read something like that.
Thank you, and take care!
Helooo, this sounds absolutely adorable! I will do my best!
Sorry if this took a bit long, I hope you like it ^^
Wriothesley x Reader - Brighter Than The Sun
Characters: Wriothesley, Reader
Summary: Reader is a little sunshine and Wrio is down BAD
Warning: unadulterated fluff bro
A/N: I posted this without text by mistake lmao
Wriothesley sighed heavily as he read the same sentence for the third time. He had been on the same stack of papers for about an hour with scarce results. He couldn't seem to focus and the more he willed the clock to go faster the slower the hands seemed to move. Tea break felt ages away.
He let his head fall into the desk with a thick thud and groaned in frustration. What was this? The fourth break he took? Today there seemed to be no way to get his work done.
Oh how he wished he could hear you sing, maybe it would reset his brain. Unfortunately for him you had gone out to the court of fontaine to run some errands, his valiant attempts to keep you glued to him in bed proved to be futile.
Sometimes he struggled to believe you were real and right at his side. You always had a soft smile on your face, eyes shining. To him your eyes weren't the only part of you that shone, in fact he saw all of you as a star. You went about your day shining with the force of a thousand suns, comforting whoever was around you simply with your reassuring presence. The first time he had experienced this quality of yours was also the first time he had met you. He was having a bad day and he was this close to punching whoever rubbed him the wrong way first, you on the other hand were happily chatting with a friend of yours at the reception desk. You didn't belong there, instead having come to visit said friend at her new job. Hell he wouldn't believe you belonged in the fortress even if he saw you commit a crime with his own eyes.
The receptionist had gone in fight or flight mode as soon as she had seen him, stammering a greeting. You turned and met his gaze, following with a polite greeting and that warm smile of yours. There wasn't any fear in your shiny eyes, nor pity for him being there for that matter. Your relaxed demeanor intrigued him, he was used to people feeling tense around him, yet you didn't seem to be. You then asked him about the fortress, roping him into a conversation he didn't think he needed. He realized at the end of it, that he was much calmer than before and even though the conversation was one he had had many times, he felt refreshed.
Later he had summoned the courage to ask the receptionist about you and the rest became history. He still looked back fondly to that day, as he did with every memory he had of you. There was this warmth about you and everything you did, he simply couldn't get enough of it. It wasn't surprising he had fallen head over heels for you. You had accepted every part of him without question, even the darkest corners, so much so, that your light had made those corners a little less daunting. What had surprised him though, was that you yourself had dark corners. He struggled to believe someone who shone so brightly as you did, had such big of a baggage to carry around.
Later he had witnessed when your light dimmed as you cried in his arms about the same reoccurring nightmare, about all the blood you had seen spilled, about the fear you had faced. Yet even if dimmed, you never stopped shining.
A knock at the door made him almost jump out of his chair. He was so engrossed in the details of your radiant face in his mind that he had gotten distracted. Wriothesley sighed yet again. He figured he couldn't get more distracted than this at that point so he answered.
"Come in" he absentmindedly ordered the stack of papers on his desk, swearing to himself he would get to them at some point.
What he hadn't expected, was for you to show up into his office, at least not at this hour.
"Wriooo" you sang cheerfully as you skipped towards his desk with your hands behind your back.
"Welcome back, I wasn't expecting you to be back so early" he got up from his chair, maybe a little too eagery, pulling an amused chuckle out of you.
"I finished all my commissions" you said "missed me?"
"Of course I did" he admitted and pulled you in for a hug. You responded right away, burying your head in his sculpted chest. When his muscles were at rest he made a damn good pillow and you loved it.
"I brought you something!" You beamed, letting him go briefly to hand hin a small green bag "I hope you don't have this one yet"
"Thank you darling" he took the bag from your hands and pressed a kiss to your cheek, followed by one on your lips. You hummed contently in response.
"Well, lucky for you I don't have this tea yet. I've actually wanted to order this for some time" Wriothesley studied the tea bag intently "how about an early tea break? I want to try this with you" he took your hand in his and brought it to his lips, gently kissing your knuckles.
"Absolutely, I've also brought pastries!" You gestured to a colorful paper bag you had left by the door when entering.
"Oh how lost I would be without you" the duke said in a rather dramatic tone.
"I bet" you poked at his nose, grinning.
Your light was almost blinding. Nonetheless he would still keep staring at his sun even if it blinded him.

Xiao x Reader - Let Me Help You
Characters: Xiao, Reader, Verr Goldet
Summary: You come across him on the top balcony at the Wangshu inn as he's returning from fighting god knows what.
Word Count: 3,229
Warnings: mentions of blood (not too graphic, but there's a lot of blood loss), angst, hurt/comfort, fluff
A/N: This is first person pov, but the reader is gender neutral. Xiao might be a bit ooc. Also posted on Ao3
Tumblr media
The sun has started to set and the guests at wangshu inn are heading to their rooms one after the other.
I sigh as I look up at the darkening sky, the plate of almond tofu still in my hands.
Why do I keep coming here?
He avoids me anyway.
I feel so stupid right now.
I leave the plate on a nearby table as tears prickle my eyes.
Why did I have to catch feelings for him? For someone who doesn't care about me.
I bite my lower lip hard, trying my hardest not to let the tears spill.
It's time to go.
I'm about to turn away from the balcony when a flash of dark teal and a gust of wind disrupt the silence and stillness of the top balcony.
I feel a knot in my throat start forming as he raises his head to look at me.
Words escape me before I can bite them down.
"You're hurt!" I gasp.
He has a quite large gash on his side that's still bleeding.
He looks really pale and drained, using his polearm to help sustain his weight.
"I'm fine" he bites back.
"But you're still bleeding!" I protest, taking a few steps closer.
"I said I'm fine" he replies, irritation clear in his voice, while trying to walk away from me.
His knees buckle and he drops down, still holding on his weapon for support.
Hesitantly, I move over and reach to help him stand.
"I'm fine! Go away!" he shouts. A series of small bursts of wind fly around him and suddenly I feel a sharp pain on my arm.
There's a cut on my left arm.
I let out a pained yelp, pressing my other hand to the wound to stop the bleeding.
He looks horrified for a moment.
He's about to say something, but I cut him off.
"You're right, I crossed a line" I wanted to say it firmly, but my voice shakes so much.
I back away.
I'm so stupid.
I shouldn't have come.
I can vaguely hear him telling me to wait as I rush down the stairs clutching my arm.
I run out the door, along the dirt path.
The silk flowers are just blurs of red and pink in my field of vision, stained by tears.
I'm suddenly forced to stop dead in my tracks, Xiao appears in front of me in a cloud of teal mist, still struggling to stand.
"Wait-"
"What? What is it now?!" I almost choke on my words.
"I'm sorry..." he says, there's no bite in his voice anymore.
"For what?" I furiously wipe away the tears from my face "I crossed your boundaries. I'm just a stupid and desperate mortal, you clearly have no interest in me and yet I keep showing up" I don't dare look at him.
There's a bitter taste in my mouth I can't seem to gulp down, like I can't seem to stop shaking.
Through my blurred sight I see a gloved hand reach for my injured arm.
I don't have the strength in me to pull away.
He grabs my arm by the wrist, ever so gently turning it to examine the wound.
I move my other hand slowly, the cut isn't deep and the bleeding has already stopped.
"I hurt you" he whispers, barely audible, almost as he struggles to believe he actually did.
"It's- It's fine...it was my fault anyway" I reply.
"No it's not fine"
"Rich coming from you" there's way more venom in my voice than I wanted to.
Rationally I can't fault him for not wanting me around to help, but it hurts so bad.
He cringes ever so slightly.
"I know" he brushes his gloved thumb on my wrist in small circles "I...didn't want you to see me...like this"
"I thought you didn't want to see me in general" I scoff under my breath.
"You're wrong" he replies, he staggers a bit suddenly "fuck...I lost too much blood..." he's slowly inching forward, struggling to keep his balance.
His polearm is slipping from his grip.
"Xiao?!" I manage to catch him before he faceplants on the gravel.
He's gone totally limp, his breath is really shallow.
I swallow the knot in my throat as I feel the color drain from my face.
I somehow manage to pick him up and start running back towards the in.
He's way lighter than I though he would be.
It's almost scary how small and frail he feels in my arms.
His head is tucked under my chin as I run up the stairs as fast as I possibly can, my lungs protesting from the exertion.
I can feel his burning skin on my neck.
"Verr! Help!" I shout as I'm about to reach the last floor.
The woman pokes her head from the top of the stairs and lets out a horrified yelp as soon as she catches sight of me.
"Let's bring him in a room! I'll go call someone to heal him!" she motions me to follow her.
We barge into an empty room and she helps me put Xiao on the bed before running out.
I somehow manage to wrangle his shirt off of him.
The wound looks pretty deep and doesn't have a very reassuring color.
Did it get infected?
His torso is covered in bruises, his arms are full of scratches.
God knows what he went up against this time.
Verr and a man come running back in and I'm uncerimoniously shoved away.
I almost fall, but I bite my tongue and go sit in a corner, now's not the time to protest.
It takes a while but the healer manages to deal with most of the wounds, stopping the bleeding.
After he finishes dressing the gash he starts to put away his stuff.
"The wound was infected. I did my best to tend to it, but the fever is still there. As for the blood loss a few days of bedrest should do" he says and then bids his farewell before exiting the room.
I release a breath I didn't know I was holding.
"I almost had a heart attack when I saw you two on the stairs" Verr Goldet says, breaking the silence, while she gently covers Xiao with a soft blanket.
"Tell me about it. He didn't even want me to get near" I huff lightly checking my injured arm.
"You're hurt too?! Why didn't you say anything while the healer was here?" she notices my cut and looks at me worried.
"It's fine it's already stopped bleeding. I just need to go wash my arm...and my clothes" I'm covered in blood from before when I carried Xiao up the stairs.
"Go, I'll keep watch. Do you need a spare change of clothes?" Verr offers.
"I...yes please. I'll be back when I'm done...Can I stay the night?" I ask...thinking about going home and leaving Xiao here like this fills me with a sense of dread, even though he wouldn't be alone.
"Of course, you look pretty shaken, I wouldn't want to send you back to liyue harbor like this at night"
"Thank you"
My body moves on its own as Verr hands me down a pair of cotton pants and shirt that resemble pijamas and leads me to another empty room.
I nod along while she talks a bit before she leaves me in the room alone.
As I pull off my bloodstained tunic I can't help but think about what Xiao told me.
'you're wrong' I so desperately want to squander that small sliver of hope.
I'm terrified at the idea that he said that just to shut me up and not because he truly thought that I was wrong.
Always avoids me and keeps the distance, but tells me I'm wrong when I say he doesn't care.
Talk about mixed signals.
Completely clouded by my thoughts I don't realize I've been in the bath for god knows how long.
I don't even remember the moment I put my clothes to soak in the sink.
I hear someone knock at the door.
"Everything okay? You've been gone for two hours" it's Verr that has come to check up on me.
"Yes" I answer, raising my voice so she can hear me.
"Are you sure? Is there something you want to talk about? Get it off your chest? You seemed really out of it before and I'm a bit worried" she replies back.
It makes my heart ache, I made her worry.
I frown, but get out of the tub.
All my fingers are pruned up.
"Come in" I say.
I quickly dry off and pull on the spare clothes she gave me.
When I exit the bathroom Verr is sitting on the bed.
I vigurously rub my hair with a towel, trying to get most of the water out so I don't drip it everywhere.
I sit beside her, pondering on what to say.
"I know you worry about Xiao a lot, this has to do with him right?" she breaks the silence first.
I sigh.
"Yes. I...have feelings for him...but I'm pretty sure it's very much one-sided" I explain "or at least I was, until he chased after me before I brought him back"
"He chased after you? What happened?"
"I saw him right when he came back on the balcony. I wanted to help him since he was barely able to stand, but he lashed out. And that's how I got this" I raise my arm "I don't think he did it on purpose though, he looked horrified when he realized. I ran out before he could say anything to me"
"So he came after you? And then what happened?"
"He said he was sorry. I said it was my fault because I crossed his boundaries and I still think that. I may or may not have told him more or less about my feelings for him and that I thought he didn't want to see me at all. All he said was 'you're wrong' before he was out cold" I finish my recount, looking at the wooden floor.
"Ah I see. I don't think he doesn't care about you. I know for a fact the tofu you bring his is gone real fast and he always asks me if you dropped by. He thinks he's sneaky about it too" she chuckles a bit at the last part.
"Glad that at least he likes it, he never told me that in person" I reply, playing with the edge of my shirt.
"And wasn't there a time you called him for help?"
"Yeah, was surrounded by a big number of hilichurls that time, but I always thought he came because of his duty to liyue"
"That might be only half of it. He was talking to me when you called for him I believe. His expression was flat, but all color drained from his face and he was gone in an instant"
"This is so confusing. Tells me one thing shows me another" I rub my face.
"You might be able to get something out of him when he recovers" Verr offers.
"I hope so"
"I need to go back to my desk, there's still some paperwork that need to be done. You can go check on him if you want" she says, getting up from the bed.
"Thanks for the talk Verr, I'll keep watch" we both exit the room and go our separate ways.
I slowly slip into the room where Xiao is, trying my best to not make the door squeak.
He's still unconscious as expected.
Someone, probably Verr, put a small cloth on his forehead, in an attempt to bring down his temperature I assume.
I pad closer, I left my shoes into my room so the floor feels kinda weird under my feet.
I slowly and gently pick off the small cloth and dip it in the water again to make it colder.
I wring it of the excess liquid and wipe one hand dry on my pants.
With the dry hand I gently place a hand on his forehead, brushing away his unruly bangs, his temperature seems to have gone down a bit.
Keeping the hair back I place the cloth back where it was before I take a sit on the chair next to the bed.
He's still pretty pale, but he looks much more peaceful now.
I'm woken up by a strangled scream, jumping up from the chair now startled into an alert state.
It's the dead of night, probably 4 am judging by the position of the moon peeking at the window.
Its light shines weakly on a hunched figure on the bed, face twisted in what looks like pain.
"Xiao!" I call out his name, but get no response.
His breathing is ragged, eyes wide, body shaking most likely from both pain and whatever is that pulled him out of his unconsious state.
I step closer to the bed, my hand hovering mid air as I hesitate.
I decide against touching him for now, not wanting to repeat what happened earlier.
I gently sit next to his thighs and make sure I'm in his line of sight.
"Xiao, it's okay now. We're at the inn" I say softly.
Arms fly up at my sides and I'm pulled into a hug as I gasp, caught off guard.
His holds tightens a bit, shivers shake his whole body, as he hides his face in the crook of my neck.
His hands look for purchase on my back, grabbing fistfuls of the cotton t shirt.
This now very much looks like a panic attack and I have no idea of what to do.
How do I even comfort him through this?
I gulp down my fears and hesitations and gently smooth down his hair with a hand.
He doesn't recoil one bit, I can't control the sigh of relief that leaves my lips as I keep petting his hair.
"You're with me now, whatever it was that has you in this state is not here. You're safe" I whisper, rubbing circles between his shoulderblades.
Slowly but surely, the shaking grows to a stop, his muscles visibly relaxing.
I never got to be this close to him.
I feel so selfish knowing a part of me is enjoying the fact that he's so close when he's clearly shaken and distressed.
But even after he seems to have calmed down significantly he doesn't let go, his arms still firmly clasped against my waist.
I'm not entirely sure he's fully aware that it's me.
Maybe he thinks I'm someone else and that's why he's holding so tight.
All the times I was brushed off or avoided sting in contrast with this very moment of utter vulnerability and waekness I'm presented with.
Would he really show this to me?
The feeling of him thinking I'm someone else grows stronger the more I mull over it, the silence of the room almost suffocating me in my doubts.
"I'm sorry" I jolt at the sudden sound of his voice, kicked out of my self destructive thoughts.
"For...what?" I reply, barely above a whisper.
"I hurt you, you didn't deserve that" he still doesn't look at me, but now I know he's aware it's me he's holding onto for dear life.
"You mean the arm? It's fine, I'm fine look!" I scramble to show him the healing cut.
He doesn't lift his head from my shoulder and I drop the arm, a knot forming in my throat.
"Not just that. I kept running away from you when this is what I wanted to do for so long" heat creeps up my face "but I'm terrified I could hurt you worse than any healer could ever heal, lose you to the very same demons I fight every day. You deserve someone better than me, someone who's not a monster...yet...I yearn for your presence like I never did for anyone else"
"I..." I don't know what to say, words feel stuck in my throat.
"It's okay, you don't have to say anything, you probably don't feel the same"
"What? You think...I don't want you?"
"I'd be surprised anybody would"
"Do you think everything I tried to do for you was done in pity? Or with some second thought in mind? I like you!" I blurt out "I did all of those things because I care about you and I have feelings for you! I want you" I feel the weight on my shoulder growing smaller, my face is burning.
He finally looks at me with this awestruck expression.
His eyes gloss over for a moment.
"You do?" I nod vigorously, not trusting my words.
"I'm glad" even though it's dark, I can see the faint blush dusting on his cheeks.
I hesitantly raise my hands to cup his face, expecting to be refused since this is the most physical touch I've ever been able to give him.
To my surprise he leans in my touch, closing his eyes and sighing softly.
His face feels so soft and warm against my palms.
"I know this might be too much...can I...kiss you?" his eyes snap open, shimmery, blush deepening at my request.
But I'm not given an answer yet as his hands leave my shirt to grip my shoulders.
He pulls me closer until our faces are millimeters apart.
"Please do" and our lips touch for the first time.
His kiss is soft, but hesitant, almost as if...
We part, still a breath away.
My heart is hammering in my chest, I feel hazy.
I struggle to believe we just kissed.
"Was that...your first kiss?" he nods slowly.
"Was it bad?" he asks, his expression slightly changing to worry.
"Not at all. I'm happy I was your first kiss" he lets out a soft sigh, sounding relieved.
Calloused fingers reach to stroke my cheekbone and the soft skin under my eye.
"You should rest, we can talk more about this in the morning" I offer, leaning slightly into his touch.
"What about you? Have you gotten any sleep?"
"I little bit here and there, but I kept waking up every twenty minutes or so" in response I'm pulled down to lay on the bed, partly on top of Xiao.
"Stay" he almost pleads, pressing a hand on hy back to keep me there.
"But...am I not hurting you like this? Are you comfortable with this?" I ask, panicked, raising my head to get a better look at him.
"The wound doesn't hurt much anymore and I am comfortable. I might need to get used to this though...I've never been involved with someone" I sigh, laying my head back down, forehead against his neck.
"It's fine, we'll go at whatever pace is best for us. No need to worry about it" my eyes are growing heavier and heavier.
Xiao is so warm and I feel safe.
All the tiredness of the day is finally crashing down on me and I can't stop it.
He laces our fingers together with his free hand, resting them on his chest.
I hear him whisper goodnight before I fall into the depths of sleep, content.

I stumbled across your albedo avalanche fic and fell in love with your writing! I saw your requests were open and wondered if you would be happy to write one with aventurine and afab reader with a shot of angst? Perhaps they are working together and his love gets hurt?
Thank you so much for your works, BTW! ❤️❤️
Aww tysm!! I really appreciate you liked my writing 🥹 I had a lot of fun writing this, hope you like this as much as I do!
Aventurine x Reader - Back To You
Characters: Aventurine, Reader (afab)
Summary: Aventurine makes a risky move during a trade with some bandits and you get hurt in the process.
Warnings: blood, angst, hurt/comfort
A/N: not proofread lmao
Aventurine watched in horror as you dove in front of him, catching the dart in his stead. He had calculated that provoking his possible business partners coult result in violence, but apparently he was horrible at math because never in a million years would he have expected you to take the shot for him. Not because he didn't think you would be apathetic to dire situations, but because he didn't think he was worth the trouble.
That was a reoccurring theme in your relationship, you have always had to remind him he was worth every effort you put in, even though his convictions were hard to break.
Aventurine deftly caught you before you could hit the rocky floor of the cave. It had been a risky move to meet the group of men in an isolated place like this, but again he had failed to take into account you had insisted to go with him and it wouldn't have been just his sorry ass to end in trouble.
The men grinned at him, seemingly satisfied with the result of their actions.
"This serves as your warning. You better lower your head sigonian trash" one of them said, before they all turned their backs on him and exited the cave. Another one of the men stopped right in front of the entrance and flashed him a toothy smile, waving. He pressed a button, causing a large rumble to erupt from right above the entrance. A cascade of rocks descended loudly, blocking the only exit.
Aventurine sat there stunned. It was clear to him now, that their intent was never really to negotiate, but to hurt him. Either directly or indirectly. If only he had insisted to go alone, you wouldn't have been in his arms progressively going limp. Only god knew what the hell was in the dart you had been shot with, so he quickly pulled it out from your belly, leaving an unhealthy purplish entry wound.
He shifted you in his grip and lowered to the ground with you. He sincerely hoped his phone would work in such a remote place. He fished it from his pocket, quickly typing the password, only to realize the rocks blocked whatever flimsy signal could reach this remote place. There were in fact, no bars in the signal indicator.
"Damn it" he muttered.
"Kakavasha..." He almost jumped out of his own skin at the sound of your voice. Aventurine brought you closer to his chest, your forehead burned against the exposed skin of his neck.
"Yes?" He hesitantly answered.
"It's not your fault" always straight to the point you were, piercing through the ungodly amount of walls he had built and reading past the facade.
"You shouldn't have jumped in front of me" Aventurine replied "what if that was a real gun and not a dart one?"
"And let you...get poisoned...?" Your words were starting to get lower, your gaze struggling to focus on anything.
"Yes! I provoked them! I miscalculated everything!" You could feel his hands shake as he held you.
"So...you must...pay the price...yeah no" you smiled bitterly, although your lips felt numb.
"It should have been my life in the gamble, not yours" he said in a defeated tone "I don't deserve you throwing yours away for me" the last part was muttered, but you heard it nonetheless.
"But you do...and the choice...is mine" you tried to say it as determined as you could muster. If the world was going to shit you would throw it away to save him in a matter of seconds. No questions asked.
The blonde man couldn't utter another word, just as you couldn't convince him to have some self worth, he couldn't convince you to give up on him. You were ride or die and he couldn't change that, maybe that was for the best. You had enough love to love him for himself too.
He buried his face in the crook of your neck and held onto you for dear life, as if it could cure you and you could keep rising next to him in the morning. What would he do if he lost you? He would lose everything once again, because as much as he didn't want to admit it to others, you were his everything.
He was scared, terrified you would draw your last breath any minute now. You didn't seem to be in pain, but you did look miserable. Your breaths were shallow and your skin was burning and covered in sweat as your body shook slightly.
Aventurine could only hope someone would notice you were gone - who would even notice a sigonian was missing? Maybe Topaz? - and come looking for you. At least he had had the good sense to leave your meeting location with Topaz.
He waited and waited, watching you slip away as the time passed. You had long lost consciousness and he could barely feel your shallow breaths against his neck.
"Please don't go..." He pleaded, eyes burning.
Your body felt numb, with a weird fuzziness in the background. It was similar to those old cathodic tube screens when no signal was available. A new type of 'annoying' you wished you hadn't learned existed.
With a bit of effort you managed to open your eyes and you were met with an unfamiliar room, dimly lit. It had white walls and some cabinets against the wall in front of you. To your left was a window with blinds obscured but you could see some light spill through the cracks. On the same side, right next to the bed were an IV bag (that you quickly realized was stuck in your arm) and a bunch of monitors beeping along with your heartbeat. Finally your eyes landed to your right, where Aventurine sat on a chair. He was leaning on the mattress of the bed you were on, head on his arms, hair completely disheveled shooting in every direction. Contrary to what one would expect from being in such a position, he was fast asleep. Even when you scooted a bit to sit up he didn't move an inch, which would have been normal if you were to be at home, but the room liked like one from a private hospital. To be this heavily asleep he must have been exhausted.
You reached your hand and gently smoothed over the rebellious locks, before switching to bushing your fingers through them as delicately as you could as to not wake him.
This was a rare sight, making you equal parts upset that you had caused it and in awe at the display of vulnerability. Most of the time he was wide awake before you so this was one of the few times you were able to watch him sleep.
The door opened slowly, revealing Topaz poking her head in. You smiled, waved at her followed by a quick gesture to keep quiet then pointing to your sleeping boyfriend.
She nodded and fully entered the room, closing the door behind her right after.
"How are you feeling?" She whispered once she was standing at your left, eyeing curiously Aventurine.
"Weird. Fuzzy?" You attempted, keeping your voice low. Which wasn't that hard because your throat was dry as hell so you couldn't talk as loud even if you tried.
"Yeah, we were told to expect something like this. The poison they used on you progressively numbs the body. We were lucky you were still breathing when I finally got to you two" she explained.
"I remember the dart. What happened after?" You asked, still petting Aventurine's hair.
"I don't know the details, but I found you two stuck in a cave and Aventurine was clutching onto you for dear life" Topaz said "I don't think I've ever seen him that terrified.
You frowned, knowing what you did, it was not hard to deduce his line of thought. He had lost so much and he had almost lost you.
If you hadn't jumped in front of him, it would have been him in your conditions and you couldn't bear the thought of that either.
"What did you guys end up doing with those 'clients'?"
"You mean the ones you two were meeting?" You hummed in response "I have no idea, Aven dealt with them a few days ago"
"Wait- a few days ago? How long have I been aslep??"
"About a week. I have never seen him leave this room more than a few minutes" she pointed to the man, who was still blissfully unaware. No wonder he was sleeping like a log.
Suddenly her phone started ringing and both of you cringed at the loud sound. Topaz quickly answered it and bolted out of the room.
The loud ringtone seemed to have been enough to disturb your boyfriend's sleep, as he let out a raspy groan in protest. You brushed his bangs away from his face and that got his attention. His head shot up, meeting your soft gaze and endearing smile.
"Y/n?" He asked, as if he couldn't believe you were there.
"Yes baby, I came back to you" he barely let you finish speaking before he bolted out of the chair to engulf you into an emotionally charged hug, a hand behind your shoulders and the other buried in your hair at the base of your neck.
"...I thought I had lost you for good" he muttered shakily "you wouldn't wake up..."
"I'm sorry to have worried you so much" you frowned, the conflictint feelings coming back full force.
"But you're going to do it again, aren't you?" He said it in a tone that was half amused and half utterly exasperated.
"Without a second thought. As much as you refuse to believe it, to me you're the world" you replied, gently prying him away from you to look at his face. You cupped his cheeks and watched intently as if you were trying to commit every detail to memory. Aventurine was simply lost in your eyes as you did, thinking of how a few hours ago he had thought he would never see them again.
You pressed a kiss to his lips, which he welcomed readily.
"Baby, you are so pale" you said, worried.
"Am I?" He cocked his head slightly "I haven't slept a wink aside from before" he chuckled, but it sounded tired. Now that he knew you were going to be okay the exhaustion was starting to take over once again.
"Why don't you cuddle with me? You can sleep and hold onto me, I won't go anywere" you smiled softly at him as you pulled him down onto the mattress with you. It didn't really take that much coaxing and soon he had his face buried into your plump chest as he held you from your middle.
"I love you" he muttered before falling asleep.
"I love you too"

HIII i don’t do asks often so i have no idea how to do this ☹️ but can i ask for a acheron x reader? i have no idea for a prompt or whatever so i’m fine with anything !! ^^
You and me both, this is my very first ask lol
Acheron x Reader - Mornings With You
Characters: Acheron, Reader
Summary: A morning with Acheron
Warnings: fluff
A/N: this is my first time writing an Acheron fic, hope you like it~
The light coming from the star system penetrated through the small window of the ship. The small ship, shared between Acheron and you, was set to orbit the star in this system placidly until you had decided what to do next.
Compared to the usual, this morning, or rather the morning calculated by the ship system clock, was quiet and peaceful. Only the hum of the engines and the soft tapping of fingers on a screen could be heard.
Acheron laid in bed on her back, with her phone in her hands and you snuggled up to her side with your head on her chest. You were clutching at her sleeping shirt quite contently, sighing from time to time with a small smile on your lips. The galaxy ranger - or the emanator of nihility, as you had known for some time - kept flicking her eyes between you and the phone, typing short bursts of text.
She was trying to keep a diary of sorts, under your suggestion, and to her surprise she had lost count of how many times she had mentioned you pretty early on. Each and every stream of thought lead back to you, often accompanied by pictures of you she had taken. She had started taking those pictures of you in different candid moments to prove to you that you were, in fact, beautiful in every moment. Even when you were wheezing in laughter, or deep in thought, or intently watching the people around you.
People watching was another passion of yours, given your nosy streak. You were incredibly curious about pretty much anything, especially how the world around you worked. You had even asked what an emanator does at some point, but unfortunately for you, Acheron didn't have a straight answer for you.
The woman gazed at you once again and in a split second decision, took a selfie of you in her arms. She quickly pasted it in the entry she was writing before pressing a light kiss on your head.
Had you told her she would be taking a selfie - a. selfie. - she would have looked at you like you had three heads.
It had been a long long time since she had felt the warmth in her chest. So long that she used to think she could never feel it again. But then you had come in her life, a chance meeting in Penacony, and absolutely buldozed the walls she had painstakingly built in her years of solitude with your sunny disposition. She had shut everything out as to not lose anything more than she already had. Acheron had lost her former lover, her world, her family. Now that she had you she was deathly afraid that you would leave her memories and her sun would disappear once again.
A grumble pulled the ranger out of her thoughts. Your hold on her tightened slightly as you yawned and further nuzzled your face in her chest.
"Baby" you muttered against her shirt.
"Yes?" Acheron replied, putting away her phone to give you her full attention. She smoothed your hair with her hand and gently carressed your head trying to coax further details.
"'m hungry" you elaborated, scrunching your face up.
"What would you like me to cook?" The woman began to shift in order to get up from your shared cot, but you whined in protest so she gave up for the moment.
"Nooo stay with me!"
"My love, I can't help you if I don't get up" Acheron said softly. You whined once again "Do you want to come with me? You can hold onto me while we prepare breakfast" that proposal seemed to appease you.
You clung onto your girlfriend as she carried you into her back with little effort. Acheron headed to the small kitchen on the ship, where she opened the fridge to check what you had available to eat.
"Waffles?" She asked. She might have not been able to remember all of your favorite things, but she sure as hell had a list on her phone. It was one of the pages of her diary and it held all your likes and dislikes so she could check it whenever her memory was screwing her over.
"Yes!" You perked up at the idea, mouth watering at the thought.
Recieving the confirmation, your girlfriend pulled up a recipe on her phone and set to work. With her deft hands it didn't take long to have a small pile of funing hot waffles on the table.
You stayed on her back until it was time to eat, when you reluctantly let go of her to gobble down the delicious breakfast.
You looked at Acheron, beaming. How did you manage to win her over was a mystery to you, you felt incredibly lucky.
"You like them?" She asked, seeing your smile.
"Yeah! But I also like you a lot" you answered cheekily.
Acheron chuckled at your answer, an amused expression adorning her usually calm face.
"So, where do we head next?"

Albedo x Reader - Avalanche
Characters: Albedo, Reader
Summary: An avalanche surprises Albedo and Reader
Word Count: 3052
Warnings: slight mentions of blood, hurt/comfort, fluff
You swung your sword one last time, breathing out a puff of warm air that condensed as soon as it met the frigid cold of the mountains. Wiping out hilichurls near the camp wasn't out of the ordinary and thankfully this was the last one. In front of you and your last victim, Albedo seemed to be checking the remains of a samachurl and their casting staff.
"All set. We should be good for a few hours" you said, not really expecting an answer.
Not even an explosion could break Albedo's focus sometimes, so you came to stand next to him as the first hilichurls that had died in the battle started disappearing. Waiting for him to be done wouldn't take too long given the destiny all these creatures faced upon death.
Sometimes they left a few bones, but it was rare, and rest assured Sucrose would be snatching them before you could even blink. She had a quite interesting fascination for bones and you had asked her a few times how to distinguish between some species. It was delightful the way her eyes would sparkle when she spoke of her interests so you made sure to ask about them as often as you could.
The samachurl soon crumbled into black ashes and you heard Albedo sigh.
A eardrum shattering roar echoed on the side of the mountain, too close for comfort. Then a rumble and you barely managed to see the look of horror on the chief alchemist's face before he uncharacteristically bodyslammed you and then it was all white.
The snow was seeping into your clothes when you came to, a few minutes later. You were surrounded by white.
An avalanche.
You were buried alive under archons know how many meters of snow, not knowing which was up and which was down. You could feel a hard surface against your back.
Did you hit a rock? Was your spine damaged?
You tried moving your limbs and though the snow was constricting you confirmed that you could indeed still move. Then it suddenly disappeared and you sunk a bit. You could see the golden particles dissipate in the corner of your eyes.
A geo construct?
Albedo let out a soft groan, lying still on top of you with his face pushed against your neck and shoulder.
"Are you okay?" you asked.
No answer.
"Albedo?" you called again, no changes.
Your stomach sunk as you tried to delicately extricate your right arm to grip the space between his shoulderblades only for your hand to be met with warm and still fresh blood. Gently prodding around you tried your best to estimate the gravity of the injury, earning another pained groan.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" you quickly replied, even though you were pretty much sure he was out cold or at least barely conscious. The wound didn't seem too deep thankfully but it ran from his right shoulder to just below the left shoulderblade.
"Okay let's get us out of this mess" you muttered. You spit, as much as it felt gross, it ran down your cheek and down past your ear.
Good sign.
Now you knew which way to dig. Using your bloodied hand you started pushing and digging the snow until you were able to sit up. You had no idea how it stayed up, but you thanked the small miracle as you carefully manouvered Abledo farther from your trunk to keep digging.
Now that you could make out his features he looked pale, his normally calm expression scrunched up in pain.
"I'll take you out of here as fast as I can I promise" the voice died in your throat as you uncovered a bloody branch with blue-ish leaves. This type of bush grew in the area near the camp, you had seen it many times. But what made your heart stop was the vague memory of Albedo explaining the toxine on the bark and leaves could be quite dangerous if it came into contact with blood and the human body.
"No no no" you muttered in panic, digging faster, not carying if the cold snow bit your fingers until you couldn't feel them anymore. After what seemed an eternity you were able to stand, thankful that the snow could hold you for now.
You spared a glance at the chief alchemist, that you had left lying down at your feet, afraid to worsen his condition by jostlying him too much. Finally you reached light and the frigid air invested your face, flushed with exhertion.
No time to waste.
You widened the hole as much as you could before pulling both you and Albedo up to lie face down in the top layer of snow. You struggled to move him on your back as not to have to drag him in the snow as you crawled forward, hoping to find solid ground. Soon you could see the entrance of the camp, partially covered but not completely submerged in snow. The alchemy table was knocked over and a desk was enveloped by the remenants of the avalanche.
You briskly procedeed deeper, where a small sleeping area was set, devided by the lab by two wooden planks propped against the ceiling. Timeaus had pinned various papers that didn't fit on the bulletin board on them.
You laid Albedo face down on one of the beds. Your fingers had almost no color left in them and you prayed you wouldn't have to stich the wound closed. You would do more harm than good with the lack of sensitivity and the last thing you wanted to do was hurt him even more.
He had tried to shield you from the incoming disaster and paid the price. You bit your lip to stop the line of thought right were it began. He needed you now, there would be time for that discussion later.
You walked back into the lab in search of anything remotely useful. Some bandages in a drawer, and warming potion bottles in another. Where was the antidote? He had to have some of it somewhere in this forsaken hell hole. You knew he used that poisonous bush regularly to ward off hilichurls and slimes from the camp at night. You found a miserable quantity of it, hidden behind a stack of books, with a note saying to remake it. You cursed under your breath and you hoped. You hoped so dearly that it would be enough to heal him.
You brought everything back to the bed area, along with a basin, some rags and a mild healing potion you found last minute.
"This will probably hurt. I'm so so sorry" you muttered and you pulled away his jacket and wrangled the blue shirt off of his feverish body. The wound was purple around the edges. You dipped a rag into the previously boiled water and started cleaning the blood and debris from the gash. You could feel his body tense below you with every stroke. It had to hurt pretty bad. Once you were done you popped open the healing potion and dripped it directly onto the open flesh. Albedo let out what was almost a scream and you felt tears run down your face.
"I'm sorry" you babbled as you tried your hardest to blink the fog away from your eyes to bandage him. The healing potion had stopped the bleeding and you were able to finish the bandages with trembling hands.
You exhaled shakily.
To give him the antidote he had to be at least somewhat awake. "Albedo" you called his name, gently gripping his healthy shoulder. He groaned but didn't move.
"Please" you shook him again a little bit harder as you pleaded with him.
Was it too late? A fresh wave of tears poured down your face at the thought.
You were met by unfocused icy orbs.
"Thank the archons...!" you whispered and gently helped him up in a sitting position.
"I need you to drink this for me okay?" you instructed, bringing the small bottle up to his lips. He was clearly out of it, but followed your instructions with a blank stare. The antidote started to kick in almost as soon as the bottle was empty. His eyes were drooping shut even though he appeared to be trying to fight it.
"Rest. I'll be with you when you wake up I promise" you whispered comfortingly as you laid him back down on the bed, tucking away a few strands of hair that had fallen in front of his eyes. You pulled up the covers and added a heavy fur blanket on top for good measure.
Sighing you walked yourself to the fire pit. Your body felt heavy and the damp clothes you were wearing started to feel incredibly uncomfortable. You started the fire and quickly changed to some spare clothes you had.
As you looked through the cavity in the snow you had created coming in the cave, you could see the sky darkening. It was about to get even colder. Hopefully the huge pile of snow would deter any monsters from moving away from their lairs tonight. You had lost your sword in the avalanche, as did Albedo. Not that he would be in any condition to fight anyway.
You grabbed another fur blanket and a cuscion and sat in front of the fire, bundling yourself to keep warm. It was going to be a long night.
Around sunrise light started creeping in the cave again. Since you could see clearly again you decided it was a good time to start tidying up the place. At least it would keep you busy.
You began scooping away snow from the desk closest to the entrance, still keeping the blanked tight around your body. While rummaging through the mess you found a safety pin to keep it in place and soon you had both hands free.
Some notes were drenched, but thank the archons Albedo used archival ink so even if the paper was insalvable, the writing was still legible. Sidetracked by the nothes you spent about an hour copying them all down on some fresh parchment before getting rid of the ruined ones. You neatly stacked the papers and clipped them together before stuffing them in an empty spot on a shelf. Then it was the turn for the crafting table.
You grunted a bit as you lifted the heavy stone but you managed to place it back up quickly. The place was starting to look better already.
You dried off the desk previously coverend in snow and sorted the items on it back to their original home. At least the ones you knew where they belonged, the others you left in a neat pile in the corner. You wouldn't hear the end of it if either Timeaus or Albedo couldn't find their stuff.
You heard a yelp, followed by a heavy thump and you almost jumped out of your own skin, having gotten used to the silence. You scurried off back to the sleeping area, instantly dropping what you were doing. Turning on the oil lamp revealed what had happened. Albedo had apparently woken and had almost completely fallen off the bed, save for his legs.
He let out a softer groan as he tried to lift himself up with little success. You gently took a hold of him, making him jolt at the contact. His skin was still burning hot, your heart sank.
His eyes met yours and he sighed in relief.
"I'm here, we're safe" you reassured softly as you helped him up. He sat on the bed eyeing you as you rummaged around to find him a shirt, having noticed the goose bumps and slight shivering of his body. Not finding anything of his, you resulted to a sweater of yours and gently tugged it past his head.
He still seemed sort of dazed, probably a cause of the still running fever.
"I'm sorry" you mumbled, udjusting one of the sleeves.
"Sorry...?" he croaked out, confused.
"You were hurt because you protected me...and the best I could do wasn't enough to make you feel better" you answered, a knot forming in your throat "I fear the antidote wasn't enough"
"I'm...fine"
"No you're not. You can't even form a complete sentence and you're still running a fever!" you cupped his flushed cheeks, looking into his cristalline eyes "But thank you. For protecting me from the avalanche and for trying to reassure me" he nodded quietly.
"You need to rest more. I don't know how to make the antidote" you helped him lay down again and pulled the covers up to his chin, carding down his rebellious hair that was now sticking out every direction out of the usually neat braids. You stayed by his side until his cerulean eyes closed into slumber, sitting on the bed and petting his head from time to time. You weren't sure he was the type to like these comforting gestures, but you figured you would apologize later if need be.
It was almost dusk when you heard footsteps approaching the mound of snow in front of the camp. A spike of urgency shot through you and you grabbed the iron bar used to keep the fireplace alive, ready to strike, only to almost drop it when you saw Sucrose.
"Oh thank the archons it's you!" you sighed in relief, your knees felt wobbly all of a sudden.
"Are you okay?!" Sucrose asked, quickly reaching to steady you.
"I...I haven't slept in roughly a day and a half" you furiously rubbed your sore eyes "But please don't mind me now! Do you know how to make the antidote for those poisonous bushes outside?! The ones with blue leaves!" you gripped her hands on top of your shoulders. She was confused for a second, but then a look of horror passed on her face.
"What happened?" she rapidly scanned through many drawers, pulling out the necessary ingredients and stacking them next to the alchemy pot.
"We were just done clearing the area when a loud growl caused an avalanche. Albedo tried to shield me and a loose branch of those poisonous bushes cut his back from shoulder to shoulder" you recounted, shivering lightly "I cleaned the cut and did my best to treat him, but the antidote that was here was too little and his symptoms have worsened again fast in the last couple of hours" you writhed your hands together as you watched Sucrose work with deft hands and a focused stare.
His eyes felt like they were glued together. His body felt heavy. He couldn't remember a thing after looking at a samachurl outside the camp.
He let out a soft huff, struggling a bit before he could finally open his eyes. The fireplace was crackling with life. From where he was he could see a sliver of the entrance to the cave, revealing the dark sky.
It was night? How long was he out? Where was he?
Where were you??
In a fit of panic he squirmed to get whatever was on top of him off, only to feel a stabbing pain and discomfort on his back. Biting down on his lips he finally kicked off what he realized was a fur blanket and sat up. He looked around frantically.
No trace of you.
He placed his feet on the cold stone of the floor, regrattably noting he had no shoes.
Where in the hell were his boots?
Even more confused and desperate, he stumbled towards the fire.
"Mr Albedo!" Sucrose stood in front of a desk, half turned towards him, surprise written all over her features.
The desk, the setting, was this his camp?
"Where..." he croaked out, half frustrated he couldn't push words out of his throat as much as he needed to. He had no idea what happened and what was going on.
He needed to see you were fine.
He needed to know where you were.
A rough grunt escaped past his lips as he tried again to get an explenation. He ended up dragging his hands over his face before being startled by a glass of water right under his nose.
While he was preoccupied being frustrated with his vocal cords, Sucrose had taken the initiative and offered him water. He gulped down the whole cup and took a shaky breath.
"It's okay. You're okay, they're okay" the woman said softly, grabbing his wrists and gently bringing them together.
The pastel yellow sweater he was wearing, he was sure it was yours. Why did he have your clothes on?
"Explain, please?" he finally managed to ask.
"Ah yes, sorry" Sucrose's ears pressed backwards a little before she continued "you two were caught in an avalanche and you were cut on the back by a poisonous branch. Y/n said they could only find a little bit of the antidote so they tried to keep you stable until I thankfully came by to check. They hadn't slept in a day and a half and I could only get them to rest a few hours ago, that makes it almost three days. They wouldn't leave your side" she let go of his wrists and pointed him towards you. You were curled in a corner, almost swallowed by the three heavy blankets you had bundled up in.
It was a familiar sight. Curling up like that was something you did often when you were either worried or stressed.
Relief and concern mixed together with a pang of guilt in his chest.
"Oh I almost forgot! The wound on your back is almost completely healed, but it could still cause some pains and you should not strain it" Sucrose said. He nodded and padded closer to you quietly.
He made you worry a lot, but he was glad you were unharmed.
Gently, he pried the blankets off of your left hand and curled up next to you, ever so carefully bringing you closer to him, before he pulled the covers back around the both of you. You leaned on him further, sighing. Albedo smiled at the sight and kissed the top of your head before resting his cheek on it.
"I'm so glad you're safe. Thank you for saving me" he whispered.

Xiao x Reader - Here For You
Characters: Xiao, Reader (gn)
Summary: Xiao is utterly exhausted and needs someone to comfort him.
Word Count: 786
Warnings: slight mentions of blood, hurt/comfort, fluff
A/N: Slightly inspired by Spirited Away when Haku gives Chihiro onigiri by the flower bushes. Also posted on Ao3
It was around 2am when you heard the front door opening.
You were in the small cozy kitchen reading a book, so engrossed in the story you almost didn't notice.
Then the door to the kitchen was pushed open, previously ajar.
Xiao trudged in the room sighing.
His shirt was stained with blood but he didn't seem to be hurt.
You jumped up and guided him to the nearest chair.
"You look exhausted, have you eaten anything while you were gone?" you asked, the last time you saw him it was the middle of the morning.
He shook his head, he was indeed hungry now that his attention was brought to it.
You gestured for him to wait there and quickly went to your shared room.
You came back with a pair of sweatpants and one of your oversized sweaters, along with a damp rag.
You quietly helped him change and wiped away the blood smudges from his skin as he leaned in your touch a little bit more than usual.
If the sweater was big on you, on him was even bigger, making him look tiny.
A warm pang crossed your chest for a few moments.
You couldn't help it, being presented with such an adorable sight.
He was so tired, both his body and his mind were protesting loudly at the effort of still being awake.
He felt his chest tighten more and more, a knot forming in his throat as he took in the familiar flowery smell coming from your sweater, your comforting scent.
He barely registed your voice when you put a plate of rice balls in front of him.
"I kept these for you. When you're done eating we're going to go to bed and rest" you say softly, tucking a rebel lock of hair behind his ear.
You were always so caring to him, did he even deserve your kindness? To be here in your home, relaxing, when all kinds of twisted monsters and demons lurked the lands of Liyue?
He slowly took one of the rice balls in his hands, slightly shaky from the exhaustion.
It was a simple dish, yet it tasted so good, savory and slightly sweet.
That small hint of sweetness, such a familiar trait in your cooking it brought warmth to his chest and cheeks.
He hadn't even realized that the dam had broken until he heard you gasp.
Big tears were now falling down his face freely as he kept eating.
He didn't know what was happening to him, but he couldn't stop it.
It felt like the knot in his throat couldn't be undone and his eyes stinged with salty tears like they hadn't done in a very long time.
You brushed your knuckes on his now wet cheeks, a concerned look in your eyes.
"Xiao, sweetie, what's wrong?" you asked, swiping away some of the tears with your thumb.
His golden eyes looked at you, full of confusion and frustration.
He didn't know how to tell you he had no idea, he was just so tired.
You recieved no answer and quickly gave up on it, there would be time to ask later.
You gently rubbed circles on his back, trying your best to offer some comfort.
Your touch didn't leave him even after he was done eating and standing next to you, about to head out of the kitchen.
You guided his slightly unstable steps to your room and lifted the duvet covers of your half hazardly tucked bed.
When you were both comfortable you pulled him towards you, an arm tucked under his neck, the other slung over his shoulder.
He would never admit it out loud, how warm and comforting your touch was, how powerfully calming was laying with his face buried in your chest.
Slowly, as you held him close to your chest under the warm duvet covers, carding a hand in his hair from time to time, his tears dried up.
They left red streaks on his cheeks and his face felt sticky, eyes still stinging.
But even with those mildly uncomfortable feelings, his eyelids were incredibly heavy and he was lulled to sleep by the almost overwhelming warmth and limitless affection you gave him, eyes closing and breathing softly steadied out in a matter of minutes.
You smiled sadly at the sight.
He felt so small and fragile tucked away against your chest, surrounded by your arms, vulnerable in a way you had never seen him be.
You kissed the top of his head and settled back on the pillow.
"I love you and you are worth every second and every effort" you whispered before your own eyes finally closed, a relieved sigh escaping your lips.

In the night I sit alone Lifeless to the world I know Faith loss long ago In this graveyard I'm calling home Carved into the stone A diary of broken bones and Words I should've known
The sky was clear, but the night was cold as Xiao sat in the grass in front of his fellow yakshas' graves.
The whispers in his head had long ago become screams, the feeling of bindings never left his body even when fighting, worsening while using his mask.
It was near and he knew.
Nothing anymore could alleviate his very own and personalized torture.
He groaned as pain shot through his head, breaking the delicate silence of the cold air.
Not even wind dared make a peep that night.
Another flare was about to start and he steeled his muscles just in time before it hit him.
A vile and searing pain invaded his whole body, making him choke on his own ragged breath, worse than any other flare ups he had endured since he sat down there in the morning.
His only regret was that he didn't say goodbye to you.
But you knowing what was going on would put you in danger.
He knew you.
He knew you would come and find him, so desperately trying to stop it.
And you would end up dead, likely by his own bloodstained hands when he would eventually lose any shred of sanity left in him.
He just hoped you wouldn't notice him missing until it would already be too late for you to find him.
He wouldn't even leave a body for you to bury.
All that would be left of him would be a gust of corrupted smoke, easily dispersed by the winds.
All his companions met that very end, no matter the means which they used to gain death.
And there were so many times he had thought to join them, to finally be free of this cursed existance.
Yet he was forever indebted to morax, later he felt he couldn't leave you behind on his own accord.
But this grave's too deep to ever make it up I'd do anything, anything Just to feel like I could reach the ground I'd do anything, anything now To spread these wings somehow I scream these words so loud But they never make a sound
The screams were now so loud he couldn't hear his surroundings anymore, gripping his hair close to the scalp in blinding pain.
He so wished for you to hold him, to hear your voice, to be there with him.
For once in his disgraced and long life he actually wanted to survive.
He didn't deserve the happiness and serenity you had brought him, your sunshine smile.
Yet he wanted it, yearned for it with every single fiber of his being.
He wanted you, wanted to stay by you until you inevitably took your last breath.
But now he wasn't convinced he would outlive you anymore.
And for the first time he tried with all the strength to fight the curse.
To push it down as far as he could so he could see you one last time.
I'm alive But I'm barely breathing now So place my heart under the ground Lay me down I'm alive But I'm barely breathing now So drag my lungs into the ground Lay me down
Something was terribly wrong.
Xiao wasn't at the inn.
He wasn't at Zhongli's either.
He wasn't with the traveller.
He didn't answer your calls.
You had turned upside down almost all of liyue and night had long fallen.
It was freezing cold, but you didn't care as you walked briskly on the dirt path.
You didn't know where it was, but at this point you were sure you would find him in a place linked to his dead fellow yakshas.
You checked all the ruins from Zhongli's stories, racing against time.
The more the night progressed the more agitated you grew, until you heard a scream and all birds flew away from the trees in a big flock.
You felt your blood freeze for an instant as you tried to discern the origin of the sound.
It was then that you felt it, the festering corruption.
And it dawned on you.
"Xiao!" you screamed his name as you ran in the direction you thought was right.
The clearing you reached was creeping full of corruption.
You saw him, writhing in pain in front of what looked like tombstones.
Your heart squeezed in your chest.
This was the place he had chosen to die.
Alone.
In the night I sit alone The stars rain on the world below Beg me to explode But these dreams I keep are nowhere to be found I'd do anything, anything just to stop This weight from pressing down I'd do anything anything now To spread these wings somehow I scream these words so loud But they never make a sound
You knelt in front of him slowly, eyes burning with tears.
Through his muddled sight he recognized your figure, but couldn't get a word out as stabs of pain stole his breath.
I'm alive But I’m barely breathing now So place my heart under the ground Lay me down I'm alive But I’m barely breathing now So drag my lungs into the ground Lay me down
"I'm here!" you wanted to say it with confidence so badly, but it was wobbly and weak.
What could you possibly do?!
In a panicked attempt you grabbed him by the shoulders and activated your vision, pushing as much energy as you could towards him.
The blood curling scream he let out when you hands touched his skin made you almost retract with your heart in your thoat, but you repressed the awful feeling, biting your lower lip so hard it drew blood.
You knew it, your healing wasn't enough, it would never be enough to purify the evil and damnation that was stuck on the adeptus now for millennia.
"Please please please please" you muttered.
Suddenly a light started shining through your utility belt and a token came free out of one of the pouches.
You recognized it immediately.
It was a gift of cloud retainer for helping her.
A powerful amulet she said, but even though no one had ever been able to activate it, it was enough to ward off monsters and keep you safe.
That was the reason she had given it to you.
It all became pitch black, your body lost it's weight and your mind lost the time.  It all came back as quickly with a rushing force, that threatened to knock you over.
But you no longer were in front of the tombstones, honding onto Xiao for dear life.
There were screams, fire, panic thick in the air.
Blood flying in all directions and creatures and humans alike flocked in one spot, writhing furiously and being sent reeling back with brand new wounds but with more viscious hatred.
Amidst all of the chaos was him, swinging the polearm like it was second nature.
Like his body mooved on it's own and for a moment you could see a flash of horror pass through his amber eyes behind the mask.
You found you still held onto the amulet.
A breath came in and out of your mouth before you stepped forward.
You dragged away creatures, kicked humans and wrangled against black masses.
Struggling and crying in frustration as you made little progress.
"Xiao!" you screamed.
Deep enough so that I'll never feel again Far beneath any chance at breaking skin I'm giving in
Your hand reached for his as he became increasingly buried in the mass of bodies, no longer able to repel them, the mask cracking.
You pushed as hard as you could, desperation was the only fuel left as the masses crushed your lower half and took away your breath.
All the promise of smiles and happiness That's a dream I'm not willing to admit I'm not ready yet To face regret No I'm not ready yet I'm not ready yet No.. No.. No..
And your hand finally reached his, gripping for dear life on his bloodstained glove.
I'd do anything now So spread these wings somehow I scream these words so loud But they never make a sound
The mask broke.
The amulet shone brighter and brighter.
I'm alive But I’m barely breathing now So place my heart under the ground Lay me down
You snapped back to reality, sweat dripping from your forehead, chills biting your body.
You gulped and finally looked at Xiao.
Your heart sank as you watched his pale form, head thrown back, still as stone.
He gasped and screamed lurching forward as he furiously gripped and scratched at his shirt.
You hadn't realized a shocked sound had escaped your lips until he turned to you in a panic and shook you to get your attention.
"Oh thank the arcons!" you cried.
Your eyes burned with hot tears as you tried your best to still his shaking body and calm him down.
"It's fine, you're okay now, I'm okay" you quickly said, taking his hands in yours.
You gently tugged at his arms and brought him to your chest.
Xiao immediately responded to the hug, holding onto you like he was scared you would run away that instant.
His face was hidden in the crook of your neck, but you could feel his shoulders shake with silent sobs as you gently rubbed circles on his back.
Slowly, his breath steadied and his body stilled in your arms.
I'm alive But I'm barely breathing now Tread my lungs into the ground
"Rest, I'll be here. You're okay now"
Lay me down

feralframe diet headcanons
Been thinking about Warframes with biological functions, and what they’d eat if given the chance. Sure, a frame can survive on energy and health restore in dire situations, but let some of these fellas out onto the plains and I bet they’d go buckwild.
Carnivore: Chroma, Khora, Lavos, Nidus Valkyr, Zephyr
Herbivore: Baruuk, Oberon, Rhino, Saryn, Titania, Wukong
Eats bugs: Ivara (and others, mostly out of curiosity)
Souls, I guess?: Nekros, Harrow, Sevagoth
Feeds from the infested somehow: Nidus
Mag recharges via…well, magnets. You can find her by the fridge with your parents’ vacation magnet collection all stuck to her face.
But don’t open the fridge: Frost is napping in there
Plug into wall outlet and charge overnight: Volt
Runs out of the house with a piece of toast in his mouth like a teen who’s late for school in a shounen anime: Gauss
The bones of her enemies: Hildryn
Would prefer to eat a fully prepared meal, like normal, civilized people. Maybe at a restaurant or something: Excalibur, Limbo, Vauban, and plenty of others
i’ve been up since 4 am folks so that’s all i got
