Make sure you don't accidentally punish people for communicating their needs and boundaries. When someone cares enough to have the uncomfortable conversation, that's a compliment and a clear sign that they are invested in the relationship. Yes of course it's uncomfortable to hear that something you've been doing has been upsetting someone you care about when that was never your intention, but people generally only bother to have these conversations with the people they want to keep around - the people they trust to care. If they just didn't like you, they'd probably just try to avoid you. So make sure you don't make it into a more punishing experience than it has to be. Try to see the care and the trust behind the criticism, even when it triggers uncomfortable emotions. It's a good sign that they're there telling you.

YAY A CHARACTER SHEET FOR MY RE9! SHERRY!!!
I wrote this very quickly bc it was very late so I'll talk more about her below.
After RE6, she was suspended for a couple months till they figured out what to do with her. With Simmons being her guardian and being herself a Birkin, she was investigated in case she had anything to do with the incident.
She ended up working again for the DSO as she couldn't leave, just like Leon. But due to her healing abilities, they didn't wanna risk her being abducted again. So, she no longer had a guardian, but she couldn't go on field missions anymore. At least not as often.
She was in charge of keeping in touch with jake since he's a federal secret. Sherry was the only one able to reach him, and she didn't mind it at all.
She's become more like her mom, in the sense of her short temper and overall tone when talking.
She still keeps in touch with Claire and Leon, but she no longer feels the need to be enough for them. She knows she is
She has the need to go back to Raccoon to see what happened and learn more about her family and umbrella. Of course, she could always look for the information in the files or ask anyone in the DSO, but she wanted to see it for herself.
When the FBI detected BOW activity, the BSAA and the DSO ended up being notified as well. Of course, Sherry wasn't chosen to go investigate, but she was going anyway.

This is an incredible read. It's like Ozy took every annoyed rant I and numerous detractors of Conflict is Not Abuse have made while gathered around our kitchen tables with friends and actually formed it into a coherent take-down. I've been waiting for someone to write this for years and I'm so grateful I didn't have to do it, that someone else did it far better.
Ultimately, Conflict Is Not Abuse is the among the purest works of victim mindset I have ever read. It just has different ideas than normal people about what makes you a victim. Someone physically attacking you and breaking your bones, for example, doesn’t make you a victim. Schulman wants to reserve that status for people who have truly suffered, such as: People whose phone calls were not returned. People who got in Twitter discourse, but whose interlocutor didn’t want to meet up in person to talk about it. People who were broken up with even though they didn’t consent to being broken up with. People who have provided an extremely convincing argument about why they deserve to be friends with someone, and yet that person still doesn’t want to be friends with them. People who hit on someone who claims not to be attracted to them, even though they totally were, bro. People who were rejected romantically without even the opportunity to stand outside a window holding a boom box that’s playing In Your Eyes. People who have been cruelly iced out just because they broke someone’s bone which is, clearly, not that bad in the grand scheme of things. Ironically, this entire line of argumentation is a great example of how thinking of yourself as a victim causes you to harm or abuse others. Maybe it’s performance art.

really underrated wigan kebab line: "so it's called a babby's yed because it looks like a baby's head? If you... if you crack it open?" "Yeah but uh... but don't do it! ☝️"

somewhere out there right now is a kid with curly hair being raised by people who have wavy hair at best and those people are giving them 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner and telling them to dry brush it. and that kid is gonna spend all of middle school and high school hating their hair and moping over the flat iron. they're being told right now that if they don't dry-brush their curl pattern into oblivion every morning it means they're unkempt and gross even though they naturally have the kind of ringlets that a thousand bridezillas would commit horrible murders for every june. it's happening right now it's an absolute epidemic and a tragedy every time

Season 8 is really hard because I can recognize gretchen and mondo put out stellar collections in radically different directions, but as a personal design philosophy I think we need more designers who are willing to take risks. Who are willing to make things look "too junior" or "too much" or "costumey". I think especially when you see the context of why mondo loves pattern and color it becomes very apparent to me that the judges are allergic to people pulling from their heritage and culture and global fashion and are so hyperfocused on white middle America that they neglect to see what's actually fashion forward and will actually have staying power. They both have aged "poorly" in the sense that they feel like relics now- so clearly 2010 that I can practically hear the mumford and sons when gretchen's models strut with their big hats and huge arrow necklaces- but the vague suggestion of culture (that she says point blank is based off of various indigenous cultures) won. Over the designs that stem from a designer's own actual culture. I absolutely think it was a conservative shift in fashion that we're still seeing today, and one that shows the judges own limited view of the future of fashion. It's not that gretchen isn't talented, because she clearly was. But I don't like the message it sends.
All in all though I imagine she wasn't nearly as much of an asshole as she appeared on the show. Certainly had her issues, and I think everytime a woman on this show says that people view her as a bitch because she's a confident woman are always at least half right. I also don't think she was nearly as bad as other people have been- honestly the drama seema overplayed. But she did have some really shitty things to say, and though she could kiiiiind of take criticism she would also immediately break down into tears at most minor criticisms and still have ruthless and cruel things to say about everyone else, which I do meet people like that and they're kind of the worst lmao
IDK at the end of the day I was a Gaga and Nicki Minaj fan in 2010, not a Mumford and Sons and Of Monsters and Men fan. Which is the real decider

The way the judges were so racist toward Ari all season... they see a Laotian designer take pride in her heritage and say "okay now how can I say she relies on her heritage too much and make vague comments about things looking Too Asian" like come on
