I think a lot of the opposition to tofu comes from white people who don’t season their meat. bc meat does have its own distinct flavor even if you don’t do much to it and it imbues other foods with that flavor. when you roast beef with potatoes and carrots on the side the beef tastes like beef and the potatoes and carrots also taste a little like beef. but tofu needs other things to imbue it with flavor. you can’t treat it like meat and expect tofu potatoes and carrots to be flavorful on their own
