So some weirdo (me) has managed to get access to Sims 2 Legacy (dw I didn't spend a penny) and I'm going to test it out properly now. Unfortunately heard in the sims 2 discords that people are setting soup off with CC or even just high-res defaults. I'm not hopeful, and I'm honestly thinking the only way we can rid it is to have the game be 64-bit. Let's be honest. Not happening :(

I think my current stance is, nah I'm not getting the Legacy Edition. As much as I have craved pink soup to be fixed and have gone to many lengths over the years to try, i just don't think the benefit outweighs the issues. Issues being no ikea, apparent crashes(?), it's 25 quid, etc. I hope someone somewhere is somehow able to get the fixes into UC. I am probably too optimistic to even hope for that. I can't program, I barely mod two games. If anyone did tho I'd be so happy :(

It loaded. Ikea obviously being missing has caused texture issues, but there's no soup at all which is wild. Not sure I want to buy a game without an expansion it does kinda cause issues. But somehow we're not having issues SO FAR

so all this time ive been rocking the 2019 version of simpe but i just checked out the new version updated december 2024 and bruh??? These terrain editing tools????

the hours ive toiled away hex editing road tiles, fighting with sc4 and the modifyNeighborhoodTerrain cheat... this is going to be such a game changer...

i also noticed this, not sure what it does exactly but intriguing for stories games enjoyers 👀

this version does come bundled with some external tools plastered with chris hatch's signature titty pinup ladies but simpe itself is titty-free now as far as i can tell lmao

Just had the most wonderful glitch. Coral Oldie is the nanny in Pleasantview atm with playable nannies, and Don's daughter just glitched in her arms, she decided to give up attempting to put her down and just took her home in the taxi

Permanent Quarter-Tile Placement On!

Just wanted to share a tip I know about how to make the Quarter Tile Placement Cheat on all the time so you just have to press Ctrl + F when you want to use it without having to type in a cheat each time.

Many of you may know that adding “setquartertileplacement on” to your userStartup.cheat doesn’t work, so I’m going to tell you where you can put it that does work, in case you didn’t already know!

So, head to Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSData\Res\Config and open up the file called “globalProps.xml” with a text editor, I recommend Notepad++. You should probably make a backup of this file first before making any changes, just in case.

In this file, scroll to the bottom and you should see a line that says:

<AnyBoolean key=“quarterTilePlacementEnabled” type=“0xcba908e1”>false</AnyBoolean>

Simply change the false to true and save the file and that’s it! The Quarter Tile Placement cheat will always be on without you having to type it in ever again! Simply toggle it on and off with Ctrl + F!

Hope that helps at least someone! I was telling my friend @morepopcorn​ about this trick and I couldn’t find the website where I initially read about how to do this anymore so she suggested I should make this post as it might not be common knowledge.
