SEPT 30th @ Chelsea's Cafe
2857 Perkins RoadBaton Rouge, LA 10pm
Fresh from tour dates in NYC, Kristin Diable & her Gentlemen return to Baton Rouge for a full night of music at the famous Chelsea's Cafe! And we want YOU to be a part of the show. As a preview of the soon to be debuted NEW ORLEANS SPEAKEASY SONGWRITERS REVUE (sponsored by BMI), the show will include Erin Miley, Denton Hatcher & YOU (read on......) About Kristin Diable: ..."There’s a young woman out of south Louisiana who has got some serious chops, a peroxide, leggy crooner with a soul like Lucinda Williams, the confidence of Grace Slick and the voice of a decades-ago Bonnie Raitt..... It was Kristin Diable. Devil in a white dress. Biggest thing out of Baton Rouge since rush hour." - JAZZFEST 2010 Chris Rose review About YOU: We are opening up three slots in the middle of the set for up & coming songwriters/musicians to perform at this show. Yes, you could play on-stage this Thursday in-between sets by KD & her Gentlemen!!! How can you get on the bill??? 1. Invite as many of your friends as you can to come out to the show. Post on facebook, send emails, call 'em up, hell... you might even want to hand write some notes. Make sure you're friends tell the door person at Chelsea's that they are there to see you play (first and last name). The door person will be keeping tally. 2. Come to the show, bring your instrument (we'll have an amp available if needed). 3. The friends will be counted and the three people who bring the most friends/fans, will get to play 1-2 songs in the middle of the set. At the end of the three artists performances, we will open up a VOTING BUCKET (fancy!) for everyone in the audience to vote for their favorite act. After the second KD&hG set, the artist with the most votes will be announced! Now what does this artist receive??? Fame.... fortune.... lots of chicks wanting to go home with you..... but most importantly: Artist with the most votes will receive an invitation to perform at the NEW ORLEANS SPEAKEASY SONGWRITERS REVUE starting this October. Other artists slated to perform the NOSSR are: Anders Osborne, Susan Cowsill, Paul Sanchez, Luke Allen (Happy Talk Band), Joseph Arthur, CC Adcock and many many more! "Music is such an incredible tool to connect people to each other and to themselves. The natural community music creates has brought me to launch a new project that broadens the scope of this bond.
I’ve partnered with Kickstarter.com to raise the funds to write, pre-produce and begin recording a new record. Unlike previous records, this one will be created using the fan-funded model. I’m hoping that the people who support the music will join me in creating this new record, and in exchange, receive all sorts of exclusives that wouldn’t have been available otherwise. It’s an opportunity to connect even further with fans and not only share the bond of music, but the entire process of inspiration, creation and life within it.
We must meet the funding goal by August 5th to make this project a reality. Every pledge makes a difference!
You’ve been incredibly supportive in the past and I hope that you’ll consider being a part of this exciting new project as well. "
