Anti Theory - Who is in Control

Okay so let’s talk about AntiSepticEye.

It’s a character that has been around for a while, if you’re part of the JackSepticEye fandom chances are you know of him.

October, Anti went from being a made up character, to a “glitch” in Jack’s face-cam. Now, we knew that Anti was the “evil” version of Jack or at least he’s supposed to be the “alter-ego”. Yet we welcomed Anti with open arms, there was fan-art, theories, fan-fics, discussions, people screen-shotted the glitches and used the, as a profile picture. Anti was pretty much welcomed wholeheartedly to the point where as the audience we couldn’t wait to see what Anti did next.

We theories a full take-over, we though that maybe it would be fight against Jack and Anti. Finally, 31st October 5pm (GMT), Say Goodbye went public and we watched as Anti slit Jack’s throat and apparently took over his body. However, Anti had a message for us, one that still makes me think.

“You all said my name.” - The community came up with the idea of Anti, we decided he was the “evil” Jack, we gaze him a slightly different “character design” so he didn’t look like Jack (Mainly because gave him gauges or darker hair, they gave him a “septiceye” or blacked out eyes)

“Kept me...” - No one had to latch onto the idea of Antisepticeye but we did, we “kept him” in the fandom.

“I am hear now, inside.” - He’s taunting us, he’s basically saying “Jack is gone and I’m going to replace him.” And actually, this could be viewed as a warning, because Anti knows he can’t pretend to be Jack forever, so he plans to just sort of hide in the background, so to speak.

“You! It’s all your fault.” - We can deny it all we want, WE as a community created and “adopted” Anti. If we hadn’t given Jack and alter-ego Anti wouldn’t exist.

“You all made this happen.” - There was a warning on the whiteboard in the VR video posted before “Say Goodbye” the whiteboard said “Stop watching”. It was Jack’s final attempt to save himself and his audience from Anti. When it was pointed out on Tumblr Jack reblogged it so anyone who hadn’t saw the video might see it on Tumblr. But we didn’t listen, because we were too excited to see what Anti would do, we watched. Which leads into the next part...

“You could’ve stopped me... But you just watched. As this happened!” - Anti grew because of the support, the “hype” around him, Had we stopped watching, had we ignored Anti, he wouldn’t have been able to stay over. Not only that but even after Jack’s warning not to watch, we still watched, not only that but we watched as Anti slit Jack’s throat, we watched Jack fall forward almost lifelessly, we waited as static filled the screen and the footage jumped. We heard the muffled “Help me” of Jack. And by this point we were still watching as Anti spoke to us.

But there is part of this that doesn’t make sense if it’s only Anti speaking “You just watched as this happened.” he sounds angry, but why would Anti, someone who got stronger because we were watching, be mad. Thats because it’s not Anti, Jack manages to pull through, he’s still trying to warn us even now to stop watching. But again, we still watched.

“Now he’s gone, forever. Say goodbye.” - Anti once more taunting us because he just killed Jack. He’s reminding us that he is in control now. He’s reminding us that we’re to blame that Jack’s gone.

Of course, “Jack” returns at 9:45, and hour and 45 minutes late for his normal upload, he tells us how he “goofed us” it was all a joke, Robin even got in on this by showing us what the edited footage looked like on his end. And for a while that was the end of Anti. But for Jack’s play through of detention, the glitch text returned “Forgotten or just to scared to remember” We can assume that just as Anti promised, he never left, he was merely biding his time. And Anti was taunting us again, the hype from Halloween died down and Anti, while he was mentioned, wasn’t mentioned as frequently. Anti wanted to crate “hype” again, because as we have witnessed previously he gets stronger based on the amount of “attention” he receives.

In the comments people were saying “Anti’s back” and Jack replied “He never left >:)” There was no glitch text, so you could assume that Jack was joking. But Anti said before “I am hear now, inside” which could give this message another meaning. Anti never left. He’s just been pretending to be Jack. At first, he let Jack take over while he hid himself away. He watched Jack’s behaviours, he saw how he acted, how he presented himself, how he talked, he even payed attention to the way Jack typed, the kind of language he used. After studying Jack, Anti felt confident and away from the camera he took over. This was Anti being smug, he’s still pretending to be Jack which is why he didn’t use the glitch text.

However after the appearance in detention , the “anti hype” started again and people were expecting Anti to take-over or show up for Jack’s birthday. And we’ve saw that Anti likes to surprise us, the last time when we predicted a full Anti take-over, he instead slit Jack’s throat because no one was expecting it. Because we were expecting Anti to show up again, he had to change tactic.

On Jack’s birthday, he uploaded a video thanking everyone for the birthday wishes. Anti has returned to biding his time. Pretending to be Jack.

Anti is waiting until we all feel safe before he makes his next move.
