This is for lilkisara. We were discussing a certain scene from episode 655 and how it could work with different dialogue, different context, that would make it LawNa. So I wrote a thing… a thing that was supposed to just be a drabble with dialogue, but then it turned into a bigger thing, so Chris- do with it what you will. XD Edit: Gif set to go with this fic.

omg guys idk if i should even entertain this thought but it is something that interests me but i’ve never been able to muster up the courage to actually commit to the process. awaywayyyy i wanna start writing. for fun. idk it’s just one of those things that makes me excited cause i have all these ideas and i’d like to think my grasp on language and grammar is above subpar so technically i should be able to, but i find the thought of actually investing the time and getting myself into the right headspace so daunting and i am just so intimidated and my track record at following through is TERRIBLE like idek what my problem is

GAMMA KNIFE!!

Redraw/re imagining of one of my favorite panels. It's a small one and I only have it in atrociously low quality but this is where Doflamingo's internal organs get absolutely fried by gamma radiation to the degree that he starts spewing blood and smoke like an actual dragon and eventually falls to his knees. Law shortened his lifespan to pull this off and I hope that even though Doflamingo managed to stitch himself together, he'll get to enjoy the many long term side effects of radiation exposure in prison :)

Anyway, I love that panel because of the movement and the SPLATTER that I just straight up tried to copy because it's really good splatter. I feel like the anime fumbled this one (and Luffy's final punch) by dragging it out for far too long. It lost its omph. I would loooove to see this re-animated because it's such a cathartic moment of complete fuck you and deserves to feel like one in motion.

I wouldn't dare attempt to redraw this one because that GRRHHH-face and the BRRWMMM-effects are perfect. He's fuckin vibrating with 13 years of condensed super rage, about to unleash. Love that for him <3

Suspicious Invitations

An anon requested the prompt “Patching up a wound” for Law x Nami. This prompt came with some specifics for the request that I tried to accommodate - namely that Nami was Lami’s teacher and saves her from some thugs. I doubt it’s exactly as the requester might have envisioned, but these prompts aren’t supposed to involve specifics, so I worked with as much of the request as I felt I could, then filled in the rest with my own ideas.

Also, in canon, I would guess that Lami would be closer to Nojiko’s age if she were alive. For the sake of this prompt, though, she is a few years younger than Nami (maybe around 15 years old).

Not that anybody asked, but I think it's important to understand how shame and guilt actually work before you try to use it for good.

It's a necessary emotion. There are reasons we have it. It makes everything so. much. worse. when you use it wrong.

Shame and guilt are DE-motivators. They are meant to stop behavior, not promote it. You cannot, ever, in any meaningful way, guilt someone into doing good. You can only shame them into not doing bad.

Let's say you're a parent and your kid is having issues.

Swearing in class? Shame could work. You want them to stop it. Keep it in proportion*, and it might help. *(KEEP IT IN PROPORTION!!!)

Not doing their homework? NO! STOP! NO NOT DO THAT! EVER! EVER! EVER! You want them to start to do their homework. Shaming them will have to opposite effect! You have demotivated them! They will double down on NOT doing it. Not because they are being oppositional, but because that's what shame does!

You can't guilt people into building better habits, being more successful, or getting more involved. That requires encouragement. You need to motivate for that stuff!

If you want it in a simple phrase:

You can shame someone out of being a bad person, but you can't shame them into being a good person.
