I'm glad you're enjoying it!! I really love Techno and Phil as characters and concepts, with all the different narrative lines both the CC's and fans have invented. Putting them in a high fantasy setting is an absolute dream, and I have REALLY been wanting to write some Game of Thrones/ASOIAF fic.

Philza stared at her. “Where?” “I don’t know,” Kristen shook her head. “Somewhere I can’t see. My presence here is limited, the magic is weak. I can reach through the Seven somewhat, but it’s not enough, and it’s not me,” she paused. “Well, not entirely me.” “What is it here again— the Stranger?” Philza asked thoughtfully. “Well, I know how you like getting to play the big strong man sometimes,” he said, pretending to flutter his eye lashes at her. She grinned back and pushed against his face, laughing. “More like you enjoy it.”

Her hair was long and dark. Not quite black, not quite brown, or gray, but some graveyard color between all three, with a veil the exact same color and shimmer as the Void draped around her wide brimmed hat. With her bent over him Philza was included inside the sanctuary it created, and he found himself grinning helplessly up at her. She smelled like lilacs and funeral flowers, like fresh turned earth, and like that same electrifying scent of ozone that Phil could smell on Techno occasionally, when the man was truly upset. Just seeing her caused heat behind his eyes these days, his throat tightening up. Techno said it was because he was a sad, cringe old man, but Kristen said she thought it was sweet. He missed her, when she was gone. “You dropped us,” he said, accusingly, playfully, reaching up to tangle his fingers in her hair and draw her down. “Oopsie,” she said, dimples deepening with laughter, and she let him pull her mouth down onto his. They kissed only a moment, before she was pulling back and murmuring against his mouth, “We don’t have a lot of time, Phil. I have things to tell you—“ “One more,” Phil begged, trying to look sad, and beseeching. It worked every time, and he could see her softening. “...Fine, one more,” she sighed, and she did kiss him once more, deep and thoughtful. Her mouth was cool, like the underside of a pillow, or the touch of a cloud. Phil always felt cleaner after she kissed him, like all his worries were being scoured away, and it made him hum approvingly into the kiss until Kristen was giggling, and could no longer keep the shape of it together.
