Peter Parker -Soulmate au -(This is my first imagine so it's not the best but 🤷🏼‍♀️) -18 year old peter bc why not -Fem pronouns -Warnings: SUPER CLICHE //////// Everyone was born with a soulmate. Someone that they could spend the rest of their lives with. Someone that would always be there, someone that would love you no matter what, someone that once you knew; you could never imagine life without them. You would be born with a mark on your wrist, and the only other person in the world to have the same exact one as you would be the person you get to call yours. (Y/n) dreamed of meeting her soulmate, basically all day every day. She was only 18 but her heart had longed for the day she would meet them for as long as she could remember. She sighs dreamily, fingers gently tracing over her mark on her left wrist. It was oddly shaped as what she liked to imagine as a spider. Of course soulmate marks weren't actually shaped like anything in particular, they mostly just looked like your normal birth mark. But (y/n) liked to imagine that hers was special, because she knew that her soulmate would be the most special thing to ever happen to her. When she was just 8 years old she had asked her mother how she had met her father one night while being tucked in for bed. "Mommy, how did you and daddy meet?" Little (y/n) had asked, eyes widening in anticipation. Her mother had smiled, sat on the edge of her sweet little girls bed and proceeded to tell her the tale of meeting her father. They had been in their late twenties and meet through mutual friends at a work party. 8 year old (y/n) had thought that was boring and simply couldn't wait that long. "But mommy! I want to meet my soulmate now." The girl had started to tear up at the thought of waiting so long to meet the love of her life. "Oh my dear, you will when the time is right." Her mother consoled her, reassuring her that she didn't have to meet her soulmate at such a young age. Although when she was younger, she really just wanted her soulmate to be her best friend. She had never had one of those. She was a bit of a social outcast, as she was a genius for her age and found it hard to bond with the other kids at school. Therefore she tended to stick to herself, not that she minded too much. But she couldn't help but hope if she could just meet her soulmate that maybe they could be the best friend she ever needed. (Y/n) had been taking advanced courses for most of her elementary and junior high years. Once high school rolled around, teachers had recommended she should graduate early and start taking college courses. However (y/n) just wanted to experience a somewhat normal high school life. Her parents agreed, so she spent her first 3 years of high school at an advanced private school located in the small suburb town that she had grown up in. A couple months into her senior year, her fathers job had been relocated to Queens. The drive from the city to her suburb school would be far to long to continue going to. Which is why she was currently on the subway to the school she would be transferring to: Midtown School of Science and Technology. Any normal teenager would be furious with their parents for deciding such a thing, especially during their last year of high school; which seemed to be the highlight of most students lives. But (y/n) didn't mind the move, she was actually pretty excited. To her it meant a fresh start, even if the timing was a bit inconvenient. (Y/n) felt a gust of the chilly October winds brush past her as the subway door next to her slid open. Her eyes scanned the exit and she realized this was where she'd be getting off. She stands, pulling the sleeve of her blue Midtown High sweatshirt back down to cover her mark. She had paired the sweatshirt with black leggings and her old beat up adidas. She nervously ran her fingers through the long (y/h/c) locks that adorned her head. Her eyes darted around the scenery, trying to get familiar with the area. She could see her new school in the distance. She hiked her backpack further up her shoulders and started the short walk there. Pulling the front door open, (y/n) was overwhelmed at the chaos happening inside the building. Teens were everywhere; carrying science projects, chatting with friends, walking to class. She wasn't used to so much going on at once. Taking a deep breath, she proceeds to walk down the hall to try to find the front office. That's when it happens. She sees him. (Y/n) felt as if the entire world slowed down as she saw the breathtaking boy she caught sight of down the hall. He was absolutely beautiful; thick brown curls were gelled back on his head, with a little curl coming loose across his forehead. He had these sweet doe brown eyes, and an adorable little grin lit up his face. He was currently standing at his locker, taking off his jacket and talking with another boy that stood next to him. (Y/n) felt her heart thumping loudly in her chest, she didn't know it just yet, but this would be the boy that changes everything. It's not until someone bumps into her back that (y/n) realizes she had been stopped in the middle of the hallway, full on ogling the gorgeous stranger. She blushes, thinking of how weird she must seem. She quickly turns away to see that it was a girl that had bumped info her. She was tall, with curly hair that was pulled back into a pony tail. "My bad." The girl mumbles, her attention focused on the book in her hands. "Oh no it's my fault, I shouldn't be stopping in a crowded hallway." (Y/n) laughs awkwardly. The girl flicks her eyes up from her book to look at (y/n). She tilts her head with a curious look in her eyes and says, "You new around here?" "Yeah, it's actually my first day." (Y/n) replies. "I'm Michelle, but my friends call me MJ." The girl introduces herself. (Y/n) makes quick small talk with Michelle, the girl was quirky and unlike anyone (y/n) had met before. She decided she liked Michelle, even though when she asked if she'd see her around, Michelle had given her a shrug and continued down the hallway with her nose back in her book. (Y/n) continues to make her way to the front office, disheartened when she notices that the beautiful boy was already gone. -------- Peter had woken up this morning in a rush, he had a long night of Spider-Man duties that kept him up longer than normal. Meaning he slept through the alarms he set. Finally his Aunt May had poked her head into his room, and started ushering him out. He had missed his normal subway route and decided to just swing to school, thankfully getting there even before the subway had stopped at his normal stop. He had been at his locker, laughing at something Ned had said when he felt the stare of someone's eyes on him. He tensed, trying to ignore it. Normally when he received attention it wasn't anything good. So he tried to focus on getting off his jacket and ignore the intense gaze he was receiving. He figured it had just been Flash getting ready to come over and embarrass him like normal. Therefore he was confused when he heard Flash's loud voice drifting from the opposite direction of the eyes on him. He turned around, trying to scope out where they were coming from but by then they had disappeared. ------ Peter had just sat down at his usual lunch stable when he saw her. He had been waiting for his friends to join him as he saw Ned walk into the cafeteria with the most gorgeous girl he had ever had the privilege of seeing. Ned was talking animatedly to her, hands waving all over the place. She had a small smile on her pink lips, listening intently to whatever Ned was saying. Peter couldn't help but think about what kissing her would feel like. He had never seen her before, he was positive he wouldn't forget about seeing an absolute angel. His throat got tight and heart nearly stopped when he watched them grab their food and make their way towards him. Peter's nerves were going absolutely mad. He had always been shy socially, but as he had grown older his confidence had built enough to where he didn't feel like a total mess when talking to strangers. But this girl had him a nervous wreck. He twiddled his hands as they got closer and could feel his stomach flipping. "Peter! Hey man, this is (y/n). She's new, we have Physics together," Ned introduces the two of them. Peter practically jumps up, his knees knocking into the table. It creates a loud bang and his checks flush a little. "H-hey! I'm P-p-peter P-Parker. Parker. Peter. Peter Parker." Peter rambles on to (y/n), mentally face palming at his awkwardness. "Hi there, I'm (y/n) (y/l/n)." (Y/n) replies with a shy smile. Peter feels himself relax a little when he sees her smiling at him, thankful she didn't seem to notice his awful greeting. Or if she did she chose to ignore it. He hesitantly reaches out his hand to shake hers, not knowing what else to do as he's still half standing there. They both feel a thrill run through them as they touch, and neither wants to let go. They end up shaking hands a little longer than normal, and when they sit down they can't take their eyes off one another. It's not till Ned chimes in a question about where MJ is that they break their trance like state. They both blush a little, looking away. "Present." MJ comments, sliding into an empty seat. They all greet her as she settles down. "New girl, losers." MJ nods at them before pulling her book out. A few more of their friends from the decathlon team sit down at the table and introduce themselves to (y/n). The conversation for the rest of their break includes Ned talking excitedly about their upcoming field trip to Nationals in D.C., MJ throwing in her two cents here and there since she's the captain, and the rest of the team trying to persuade (y/n) into jointing the team. (Y/n) promised them she'd think about it, but she knew she would since it meant spending time with Peter. When she had met Ned in her physics class, she recognized him from this morning. He immediately took a liking to her and insisted they become friends. When she found out his best friend was indeed the boy she had marveled at this morning she couldn't help but feel like it was fate. She didn't know why but wanted more than anything for Peter to be her soulmate. Little did she know he felt just the same. He had stolen glances at her all throughout the lunch period, unconsciously touching the mark on his wrist. He had never given much thought to meeting his soulmate; he had enough to worry about with his Spider-Man duties, but suddenly all he wanted was for (y/n) to be his. ------ Hey guys! Sorry this is where the imagine ends, if you'd like a part 2 though feel free to request! I'm most likely putting a part two out anyways but let me know if you liked it! ❤️
