So imagine this the Dr1 cast in the exact same situation of v3 cast so they found out they were fictional characters how would they get out of the situation

I’ve decided to be super extra about this ask lol because I feel like part of it depends on who the survivors would be in this version, since it would likely differ based on the alternate motives.

So-

Case one: first blood perk/time limit

So with the first motive being the first blood perk, I do kinda think someone might go for it. That somebody being Togami let’s be real lol. Not right away but once the time limit comes up then I think he’d go for it. When it comes to who the victim would be, I think probably Yasahiro. If he was having visions of the killing game going on and it was freaking him out (as would the time limit) then he would probably be easy to get alone and then take out. Presumably right before he was going to relay some important vision to Makoto (i.e Rantaro equivalent)

Case two: motive video

Now I know what you must be thinking, that’s Sayaka's time to shine! But! The monokubs muck up the motive videos and everyone gets the wrong persons, so I think she’s in the clear. Frankly I’m worried about Aoi, she’s got her parents and brother at home, and if someone trying to be nice gave her her own video (like Sakura or even Chihiro) I think she might try to get out. This might be a bit of a stretch, but I’m just gonna go with it. But! Thinking on who she’d go for, I think she tried to take out Toko and then Syo killed Aoi instead! Bum bum bummmm! Twist!

Case three: necronomicon

Say it with me folks! Sakura tries to use the book to bring back Aoi! The lesbians ever! And you know what, imma say it worked. Came backs Weird and Wrong though let me tell you! And quite frankly, I don’t think everyone’s on board with pseudo-undead-attempted-murderer Aoi running around. I think Leon took both of them out for the double kill (or more like one and a half). His official party line was that he was keeping everyone safe, but low key he also just really wanted to go home.

Case four: Neo world program

The little video game interlude, this time curtsy of Chihiro! They’re filling Miu’s roll, though I don’t think they were planning a murder. I think this is when Celeste tries her hand at escape, probably attempting to pin the blame on Chihiro since it’s their program. I think like in Thh she went for Hifumi since he’s easy to manipulate.

Case five: mastermind fake out

I think the Mukuro (as Junko) tried to ‘expose’ Kyoko as the real mastermind. Everyone ended up very divided about this, Makoto and Sayaka insisting Kyoko is innocent and Mondo and Ishimaru believe Mukuro. Chihiro is undecided. Ultimately Junko kills Mukuro to frame Kyoko, and despite the holes in the story Kyoko is executed for it.

Case six: the final

Knowing something fishy happened with Kyoko’s trial Makoto and Sayaka recruit Chihiros help to hack those little spy bug things in v3 and it leads to them having proof that Mukuro was killed by Junko not Kyoko and that sets the end of the game in motion.

So now we get to the actual question, I think Ishimaru and Mondo would absolutely refuse to believe the whole fictional characters thing, I think Sayaka wouldn’t actually have that hard a time with it since she has experience sort of playing a persona but what would get her is the idea her loved ones don’t really exist and her memories are fake. Chihiro would get sad at first but since they already treated Alter Ego like a person and they had been made, it’s not all that different. And Makoto ends up drawing strength from something Kyoko said a la Hajime and brings them all back together to defeat Junko and escape to the real world!

So, since Rantaro essentially became like Kamukura, does Junko fangirl over him like how she does over Izuru in canon? Does Tsumugi fangirl him since she's kind of like Junko in canon? Does anyone fangirl over him, or does Rantaro just do his own thing??

That’s a good question! I think Junko probably does fan girl over him a little, if nothing else she thinks he’s interesting.

Tsumugi much less, she’s got a lot on her plate as it is, she doesn’t really have much time to worry about Rantaro. Like with all the remnants they tolerate Kamakura because Junko likes him, but there isn’t too much more to it then that.

Rantaro is mostly off doing his own thing, he’s an observer and hardly ever directly interferes with what’s going on.

It feels like Akane being a professional gymnast gets ignored a lot of the time, especially in canon

What do you think of Kazuichi taking out Mikan for a shopping date to give new clothes cause she looks cute no matter what she wears?

Honestly I think a shopping date between those two would be somewhat of a disaster lol. Kaz doesn’t have that much money to begin with and Mikan knows this so she’s super hesitant to spend any of his money, and keeps pretending she doesn’t like any of the clothes so he won’t get them.

Meanwhile Kazuichi just thinks he must be doing something wrong because girls are supposed to like shopping and he thought it would make Mikan happy and she’s clearly not, so now he’s just bringing more and more clothes to try to find anything she actually likes.

All in all an unmitigated disaster lol, but if nothing else they’d get to spend time together and maybe get a treat from the food court.

Sort of analysis sort of headcanon idk we’re talking about Kazuichi!

I’ll precise this by saying I’m not aiming to excuse his behaviour, but it’s just interesting to look at it through the lense of;

This fifteen year old has been thrown into a death game full of strangers he doesn’t know, in an unfamiliar environment, and told he has to kill them because they all want to kill him too. And he’s up against Yakuza, the best swordwoman in the world, hulking physical threats like Nekomaru and Akane, and he knows he has no shot of winning. And he’s scared out of his gourd, and he didn’t want to hurt anyone anyway, and he has zero control about anything like always—

And then there’s this Princess, and she’s calm, and dignified, and she doesn’t seem as terrified as he is (because of course she can’t, she was raised to project that air of strength, pushing her feelings down for the sake of her subjects, but he’s not picking up on that.) And it seems like she’s offering stability, and leadership, and more importantly she’s something else to focus on. Liking Sonia is something Kazuichi can put his energy and attention towards that isn’t the horrific situation he’s in, and that’s subconscious but it becomes so important.

And sometimes, when idiot fifteen year olds have a crush on someone, they don’t go about it in the best way. And so he likes her, and tries to defend her honor if the others are mean, and maybe he can’t help fix the situation they’re all in, but getting Sonia’s attention seems like a much more achievable goal.

And in his mind he probably isn’t doing anything wrong. He’s yearning for her from afar, and sometimes making comments or offering his services, but he thinks he’s treating her with respect. Calling her ‘Miss Sonia’ and trying to treat her like he thinks you’re supposed to treat royalty, and he’s not doing a very good job of it, but again; fifteen year old in a death game.

And the others are making fun of him for it, or snarky comments at least, but he’s used to bullying, and he doesn’t think anything of it. It’s background noise at this point, and no one ever directly tells him he’s making her uncomfortable and why it’s important he knock it off. They can all see the behaviour for what it is, but Kaz can’t because he’s right there in it. And she’s not so much a person to him but a symbol and icon of the stability he really doesn’t have right now. And if he’s alone with his thoughts about the killing game he’ll lose his shit, and then he’ll look weak, and then he’ll look like an easier target then he already knows he is.

Because everyone else here is crazy, and his pink hair and his shark teeth aren’t deterring people like they’re supposed to. He’s not even the most colourful one there, and he’s not the strongest or the toughest, but he needs to seem tough or he will be killed. And in his mind manly men like girly girls and Sonia seems like the epitome of that

And he ends up so hyperfixated on Sonia, and that carries through for the rest of game.

But I think that dynamic, as largely one sided as it is, would be fairly easy to fix. Once they’re out of the Neo World program and memories from the last four to five years start to come back and they’re all suddenly much more grown up, I think it would just be a matter of sitting down, maybe with Hajime lending some Ultimate therapist talent in there idk, and hashing things out. Just setting some clear boundaries and defining the friendship, and then all is well.

Obviously Kazuichi cares for Sonia, so I think if it was just made clear to him that his behaviour was negatively affecting her he’d back off.

I know this got sort of rambly, and there wasn’t any real point in it lol, but it’s just fun to analyze Danganronpa characters sometimes, since I really think the characters are what make the franchise shine.

for the v3 remnants au, i just discovered your stuff and i read as much as the fic that’s out, and so tell me how much of a constant existential crisis was kokichi having in the beginning? i feel like whatever sane part left of him was having a constant mental breakdown lmao- the idea that he killed dice is now living in my head rent free and i can’t tell if i want more or if i want to cry /pos

Oh yeah lol Kokichi is not having a good time in the au, despite his ‘I’m just a silly guy’ attitude. like he’s trying to use the other v3 remnants as replacements for Dice but it’s not really working since he doesn’t actually like any of them all that much lol

I love to imagine Toko unconsciously putting in anime tropes in her later stories thanks to being with Komaru a lot and she didn't notice until her editor or a review pointed it out.

I’m not sure who Kameko is but Celeste would definitely have a massive Purugly she treats like a queen. Probably a Gothitelle too, and a Chandelure

I’m not sure if I’ve seen any I’d consider overrated, but I wasn’t able to finish that Seven Deadly Sins one. There was just way too much weird stuff with the girl characters and for the life of me I can’t remember anything that actually happened in the plot

Hinamiki Week Day 6: Beach or Date Night

I thought to myself, why not beach and date night! Partly that was because last year I drew them exploring tide pools on the beach in the day, and so I wanted to do something different, but also can confirm sunset tubing is a 10/10 activity!
