Writing a novel when you imagine all you stories in film format is hard because there’s really no written equivalent of “lens flare” or “slow motion montage backed by Gregorian choir”

Hi Tumblr! It’s been [redacted] years that I haven’t posted something, which is rather silly actually. Fixing that.
Anyway, here’s Harrowhark Nonagesimus from The Locked Tomb series! :) Enjoy!

Utterly blown away by the kind words and responses to the previous Harrow piece everyone! ❤️
Here’s the matching Gideon Nav, in the same Alphonse Mucha x The Locked Tomb series! (I know, armour isn’t strictly canon, but it’s badass, so yeah. No apologies) Enjoy!
PS: Both this and Harrow will be available in 11” x 17” print form at Otafest this upcoming weekend! (I’ll be at the charity Sketch Drive all three days) Anyone who won’t be making it out but would like to buy a print, message me directly so we can figure out how to ship it to you! :)

oh you're in a horror film/book and your phone died/has no bars? how boring. I think phones in horror SHOULD work. they should ding only to have the protagonist check and find nothing. they should get calls from somebody you don't know but is still somehow in your contacts. google maps should lead you to one place, no matter what address you type in.
phones are such a big part of our daily lives, removing them from horror removes the horror from our experience. what if the horror felt like it could happen to you, right here, right now? what if it felt like it was already happening?

Powerful, beautiful, amazing. I'd trust her with my life - not my character but my art

More Chillet design! This time digital and in colour. I've based the head more heavily on a seal but used otters as reference for the body and paws. I'd love to give it some big whiskers but since it's a land Pal rather than an aquatic one I'm not sure there's really much reason for it to have any.

I sketched out some centaur designs based on the 1910s a while back. I admit the research was pretty surface level, but it was still great fun.

This box contains every material component for every wizardcastable can trip in D&D 5th edition. It also contains a book I put together with every verbal and somatic component described. I also made some Scrolls of identify because pearls and feathers are too fun to not have in a box of components. Detail pictures in the next reblog.

d10 safe places to rest
The roof of the cave is lit softly by blue, glowing worms. The lichen and moss beneath your feet are soft as any bed at an inn. The dripping of water from stalactites is a comforting repetition. Tucked into the side of the mountain pass, you feel almost cozy here while the blizzard rages outside. You wouldn’t even have noticed the cave if not for having slipped on that patch of ice. You settle in for the night.
You limp your way beneath the curtain of the willow’s branches. A cold stream is tented by the tree, perfect for washing your wounded and weary body. Hidden from the road, you are able to take your respite here.
The cottage is empty, and long-since abandoned, judging by the dust. Still, the walls are unbroken and the fireplace is clear. There’s even some moth-eaten blankets in the closet. You can bar the door, shutter the windows, and spend a night in shelter for once.
You make eye contact with the giant owl with night-blown pupils, and it jumps from its perch to circle the desert. You’d never have guessed that a giant cactus would be a good camping spot, but here you are, having carefully picked your way up through its spines to sit on its surprisingly smooth arms. No harm will come to you this night.
You’re huddled in the corner of the tavern near the fire, still jumpy from the earlier battle. The innkeeper is a strapping man who took one look at your wounds and told you your meal and board was on the house. He went so far as to bring you a free drink, and his wife keeps shooing away anyone who bothers you. You’ll sleep soundly knowing they are looking out for you.
It’s hot as hell, but at least you’ve got a place to sit for the time being. The towering crags of rock give some semblance of shade, as long as you move with the sun. No one will find you here unless they’re willing to chance getting lost in the canyon.
You’d never have imagined taking refuge on the back of a gargantuan elephant, but here you are. The climb was a bit difficult, but now that you’re here, it’s quite nice. You can see for miles, you’ve got rations, and best of all, you’re still headed for your destination.
You’re dead tired, but there’s no shelter for miles. Only sunflowers as far as you can see. There’s nothing for it; you drop to the ground among the blooms and create a little space to rest between the stalks.
The lagoon boasts a small waterfall, a multitude of edible mushrooms and berries, and plenty of places to hang your hammock. It’s more than enough for your weary bones.
You’re not sure the shopkeep has even spotted you among the sacks of flour and loose fruit, but it’s as good a place as any take a quick break and hide from your pursuers. Might even sample the wares while you’re here.

✨ Redesign of my lovely Nin ✨
A redesign of one of my first very loved DnD characters, who I got so attached over that I never played her because I didn't want her story to be told just yet.
Now she's been in the dark for a while and it was time to give her some much deserved attention again.
This time though, I'll give her a happier story... (but probably will still never play her because I'm too emotionally attached)
So here is Nin, my changeling, partially masking as a late childhood friend who never got the chance to go on adventures.
Now they watch the sun rise together :)
