Akigane has been single since he was widowed in Heavensward by Haurchefant’s sacrifice and he’s okay with that, figuring that he can take as much time as he needs before pursuing anyone romantically again. There is a slightly weird energy between him and Nero right now though that might lead somewhere romantic but it’s a little too early to tell.

Eithne, meanwhile, semi-retired to Ala Mhigo with Raubhan after Stormblood and they’re as close as they can get to being married without actually pulling the trigger due to Eithne’s disdain for marriage. {Look every wedding she’s ever attended has been an unrelenting shitshow and most of them have had body counts, she doesn’t want to open up the chance that it could happen to her’s}.

Piane is making strides in his relationship with Carvallain but is still too much of a coward to admit how in love he actually is, but he’s not particularly slick about it and Carvallain is patiently waiting for him to get there though he does hope it happens in his lifetime since, as a Viera, there’s a very real chance Piane won’t get there in time.

Riubh’a and Z’chael are still as happy together as they’ve been since they reunited in the Waking Sands.

Mnemosyne is Akigane's Azem's name.

It's deliberately ironic and started as a joke coz Akigane has a notoriously terrible memory, but then I could never figure out a serious alternative and it stuck.

I don't actually know whose bachelor party we're traveling for coz Akigane's a widower, Thancred and Urianger are married to each other and I aggressively headcanon Estinien as asexual. But we're going none the less. Maybe the goal is to actually get Akigane back in the game after being out of it for so long.
