not to be reformist but i just realized requiring employers to treat a commute as time on the job would probably make american cities profoundly more habitable

I’ve been to a nearby town yesterday and saw something relevant: they straight up started putting posters on random walls shaming bosses and their illegal/exploting/corrupt practices. They (it’s a collective of which its members prefer to remain anonymous, I think) put up the name(s) and a picture of the place, say “X cafè” or “pizza X” and write down what happens in there. Often it’s people being paid like 2 or 4 euros per hour, with racism (foreigners being paid 2 euros instead of 4), abuse and literal attacks happening on a daily basis.
They even highlighted places serving rotten food and/or feeding their employees rotten food.
I wish this would spread because I feel like it could have a real impact?! Would you honestly go to a restaurant which pays people 2 euros per hour? And since these bosses only care about money, let’s hit them where it matters.
