youngest of the group and arthur doesn't let him forget it, i speculate somewhere between 18, like snow, and 20.

shortest of the group, too, with jack only being an inch or two taller

is honestly the biggest baby and hates scary stories. will put on a brave face, though, especially in front of snow.

100% made up his own theme song at some point. you can't tell me a guy who says "you just got merlin'd" didn't also make up his own dumb theme song.

ambidextrous

hates stagnation. hates to be bored. always needs to be doing something.

arthur

the oldest of the group, 21 at the very least and maybe 24 or 25 at most.

also the tallest and strongest, but i honestly think that's just canon.

puts on that tough guy, macho act, but tbh is really just the biggest softie. a giant teddy bear. gives the best hugs. probably cries during cheesy soap operas and rom coms.

also kind of a baby when it comes to scary stuff. lowkey competes with merlin by mocking him to see who's the most scared.

jack

second youngest, second shortest, but honestly the most mature out of the group. lowkey the mom friend.

scariest temper. is honestly pretty relaxed and doesn't get angry often (irritated and annoyed with the antics of the others a lot though), but when it does happen it will put the fear of god into anyone there to witness it. the triplets are the only ones to have yet to be subjects of his wrath.

has 100% used the invisibility cloak to mess with roommates, typically when they've been annoying and he's feeling exceptionally petty.

has dirt on everybody. no one can prove he's eavesdropping but it is strongly suspected. how else can he hold merlin's theme song over his head?

reads trashy romance novels.

hans

second oldest, second tallest, and the second most mature despite his bumbling and naivety. highkey the mom friend.

the house would literally fall apart if he wasn't around. jack might be a tad bit more mature, but it's jack's indifference that sets them apart. hans is the "should we stop them, we should stop them" to jack's "not yet i want to see how this plays out".

second scariest temper, though. no one has actually yet to see it, but the vibe is there and nobody wants to find out for sure.

is the sole reason why the triplets ever eat because they'll forget if he doesn't practically drag them out of their workshop.

pino, noki, and kio

younger than arthur and hans, but older than merlin and jack. definitely no younger than 20.

no preservation skills whatsoever. very "will leap before looking if there's a lure of scientific excitement". curiosity killed the cat and it'll probably kill them one of these days--if hans and/or jack weren't around to stop them.

different heights if you look closely, but all three are taller than merlin and jack. only one of them is about the same height as hans.

are fairly content in their dwarf bodies! the height change is an inconvenience at most, though they rarely notice since they're hardly ever apart.

at least one of them has found and read jack's trashy romance novels and he isn't sure which one. they won't tell him and lowkey enjoy watching him squirm.

also hate stagnation, being bored. they're always doing something. at least one of them jiggles their legs when they're sitting down.

“I think I am quite ready for another adventure.” Bilbo smiled excitedly as he moved to grip Elrond's hand. The Elf King smiled brightly at the little hobbit as he carefully led him up the small ramp into the small sailing vessel. 

Bilbo sighed happily as he leaned against his walking stick near the railing on the main deak.  The smell that was in air was something so familiar to him that he couldn't hold the sigh of contentment.

Bilbo's memory may be slower and now fading but he could never forget that smell of adventure that came with the unknowing. It was a smell that brought Bilbo great comfort but also great sadness as he remembered his fellow companions.

“My Lord Elrond.” Bilbo spoke gently, almost shaking as he looked up at the tall Elf. “When we arrive at our destination...What is it that we are expected to find?”

After spending a decent amount of time recently with the old hobbit, Elrond was quick to understand the true background of his words. “I do not know what all that awaits us, My Mellon. We can only hope for good things.” The hobbit snorted.

"Remember that saying that I told you when we first met?" Elrond smiled as he repeated that very saying 

"'Go not to the Elves for counsel for they will answer both no and yes' Yes I remember fondly that phrase." 

"It was very well proven there."

Chuckling and shaking his head, Elrond didn’t get a chance to reply before Gandalf and Frodo joined the two.

Frodo, red eyed, wrapped a tight hug around his uncle. Not moving away, he spoke into his uncle shoulder

“I didn’t truly realize how hard saying Good-bye would be.” 

“Living with me, my boy, you should already know.”

“What do you mean, Uncle?”

“That good-byes are nothing but ‘See you soon’ when it comes to true friendships.” Gandalf and Elrond smiled down at the two, a knowing glint in both of their eyes. 

With the final passengers on board, the sails were lowered and the final journey of the last member of Thorin’s Company begun. 

As former Ring-bearers, Bilbo and Frodo Baggins were granted the luxury only a selected handful of the free people of all Middle-Earth have been awarded.

A trip to the closest thing to Heaven in all of Middle-Earth. A place in the Grey Havens. A place that could heal and strengthen many; however, there are some things that it can not heal or prevent… Death being one of them.

Bilbo Baggins of Bag-End went peacefully and quietly sometime in the late hours of the first night of his new adventure. Though he was alone at the time, ( something that Frodo had taken hard.), Frodo knew deep down that his uncle was not alone for long..

"Uncle! Uncle!"

"Mahal's Beard, it was about time!"

"Shamukh!!"

"Bilbo's here?"

"I'll get the fire going!"

"MASTER BOGGINS!"

Grunting at the sudden full weight on his chest, Bilbo rolled as he pushed at his sudden attacker. 

“Kili, would you-” Bolting, straight up once he realized what he just said, Bilbo rubbed at his eyes as he took in the sight before him. 

Sitting around the open fire, like they all had done for many nights. Dori. Nori and Ori were on the longest of the logs with Oin and Gloin sitting on the shorter one.

Turning to look over the rest of the camp,  Bilbo followed the line of Bombur, Bifur and Bofur, as they laughed in joy at seeing their hobbit friend. Bilbo, didn't forget to catch Balin and Dwalin leaned up against the rock face that was on the back of the camp. 

All of them..they looked exactly that same they did when they all arrived at Bag-End that fateful night.  Bilbo's mind shook as he moved to rub at his eyes. 

Speaking of not aging, next to the quivering hobbit, there was Kili, smiling so brightly as he laughed at the bewildered look on Bilbo's face as he looked up at him. 

Kili looked exactly the same...

So did Fili, Who was not far behind his brother, currently shoving a dark figure whose back was turned away from the rest. Fili was practically jumping as he pointed and gestured over at Bilbo for his Uncle to see.

Bilbo had never been so on edge then he was now, watching as Thorin turned to face him. But his nerves were pointless as the young king smiled even more brightly than Kili. 

"Did you at least remember to bring your handkerchief this time?"

the funniest thing about Richard Armitage showing us his Orcrist/Hobbit display is that most LotR/Hobbit memorabilia/replica collectors who I know are like... "you have to keep your precious and expensive sword replicas polished and in a dust-proof, sealed display box in an awesome arrangement/hung up pleasingly and correctly on the wall"

and Richard has THE original Orcrist and is just like "fuck it, I just chuck it on my bookshelf and occasionally cut cakes with it"

Please read this it's SO good!!! It is a beautiful and exciting continuation of red shoes and the 7 dwarfs and worth every minute of being read! I love how the writer is expanding this world to other fairy tales with their spin on them of course. It's updated every Wednesday on AO3. The story is very professionally written and the it flows so smoothly! Again, I cannot say it enough how much I love this story and how much it means to me to see such an amazing work part of this small fandom.❤
