What's the deal with Flattening? Why is it hot?

Since the question always pops up in message boards and such, I thought I would put together a pretty thorough explanation (at least of why I like flattening YMMV) and post it here since it’s hard to order your thoughts on the fly.  And when I say pretty thorough it turns out I mean a veritable novel :B

Who was your inspiration for drawing your excellent flattening TF artwork?

A lot of it was Redflare500, his REALLY early stuff on his Deviantart.  It was the first time I was exposed to it.  There are others whose work I really liked, but It was a guy called FlatSilver who first requested that I draw stuff for him and post it.  I think the first few pieces I did were things he requested, so he’s responsible for getting me to draw it!

OK Everybody. This is my new Tumblr blog. This is definitely a first for me seeming that some friends that I know in the Deviantart and Yahoo Group world have a Tumblr account. I’ll make this a blog for some artwork that I have stored away from the Gurochan art thread that I created over six years ago. I’ll have to edit what pictures get posted here and make it easier for the eye to view. You may have some pictures that want to show me as well. I still have to create a PayPal account yet for some commissioned artwork that I would like to purchase. I think this art blog will be fun. Give me a Wassup! whenever you get a chance.
