Thoughts about DLC Overture. SPOILER!
I completed the game quickly enough, and I experienced a lot of emotions, ranging from delight to bitter tears. Words cannot express how much I admire the story and all the emotions that I have received, and I sincerely thank Neowiz for this experience.
However, not about that. We were discussing the DLC with friends, and we came to the following conclusion: we really miss the emotions of the main character for everything that is happening.
But, wait, wait!
P is the main character we play the whole game for. In fact, all his thoughts, emotions, and actions are what comes primarily from ourselves. We are the main character of this story. Many cutscenes in the game focus not on P and his emotions, but on what is happening around him, so that emotions appear in the player. If P were talking and showing his feelings, it would prevent us from perceiving the game from his face, for example, "I'm crying, and P is not sad, so I shouldn't be sad either!" or P, on the contrary, might seem cruel and heartless (ironically, but let's say), because he did not shed a tear, when, as a player, he choked in tears. If you understand what I mean, then you understand that the attitude to what is happening and the attitude towards the main character would be noticeably distorted.
However, for some reason, in some places I would like to see at least a hint of sadness from someone who carries Carlo's will. You're all right, P is not Carlo, and the same Lea and Romeo are completely strangers to him, and strangers are not always easy to get emotional about. However, for some reason I believe that P has at least a little, at least a drop of feelings for those who were dear to Carlo. Indeed, in the course of the story, P reacts to memories on the shore of the island, reacts to letters (I remember the reaction to Geppetto's letter).
Perhaps this is due to the fact that if you complete the expansion in the middle of the game, then P is still not human enough to show emotions. There may be a storm and a hurricane going on inside him, but he doesn't know how to show it, how people show it. But still...
This is just my opinion, but still I would like to see a little more of his thoughts and feelings on what is happening. I was waiting for this at the end of the DLC, when we were finally able to save Romeo. But P seems to be indifferent (externally, but internally we don't know what's going on with him). I was even hoping for a conversation with Romeo, but the developers didn't decide to spoil us! This is not a huge necessity or a disadvantage in the game, not at all. But it feels like P is still one of the most undisclosed characters in this game, even though he is the main character with whom we spend all this time together.
I'm sure many people will disagree with me. I also understand that in all soulslike games the main character has always been a reflection of the player, and excessive words and emotions are usually a hindrance. However, this game makes me want to know more, to get more information and feelings, like, for example, those dialogues of P during the battle with NP. I would sincerely like to know and hear how P felt when he met Lea, when he saw Romeo's severed arms, when he saw Romeo himself, when he saw Sofia's real body, when he realized that Geppetto was a traitor, and not at all a loving father.
I know my opinion on each of these topics, but I would like to listen to my main character, whom I sincerely love. Just out of curiosity!
DLC came out great and gave me too much food for thought. I can't remember the last time my heart broke so much from the pain, begging for a good ending.
I hope all fans of this game enjoyed this gift from the developers!

Let's talk about Hugo.
Okay, these dumb questions about Hugo and Alidoro were for a reason (yes, the answer is actually obvious, but as if I wanted to ask anyway!)
We talk very little about Hugo and his development in the game, because although little time is given to the character, during this time they reveal him to us in such a way that I managed to love this boy. I liked him from the first play, but now I noticed a strange hyperfix (I didn't expect this from myself, honestly).
So that's what I'm saying... This guy is alone in dangerous swamps (I won't mention that he's standing right next to the boss arena), and when I talk to him, I don't hear that he's afraid of any dangers here. And this is amazing, because he doesn't know how to use weapons!
Hugo is a charming and kind guy. If the Parrot has always been pursued by selfish goals and a desire to save his own skin, then Hugo sincerely admires Alidoro and wants to continue his work without selfish goals. I didn't hear a single phrase from him about money or profit, he says only that Alidoro's case was legendary, that his death was sad but heroic (and he not knowing that he found the Parrot, but he is still sure that Alidoro died like a hero) and he wants to continue the work of the one who was the idol of the new generation. He says, "This is what Alidoro wanted". Have you heard Hugo's cute parody of Alidoro? Oh, I was touched by his phrases. The only thing Hugo thinks about is Alidoro's wishes and what he would do.
We don't talk much about this guy. For some reason, I am sure that if Alidoro found out that he had such a sincere and reliable heir, he would only be happy. Hugo may also be relatively inexperienced (although let's be honest, it's hard to call him that when he's traveling alone, and even in a place like the swamps, it turns out), but he has great potential and at least that spark in his heart that you need when you're doing what you love.
I'm in love with Hugo, and I'm in love with his respect for Alidoro and his legacy. 🥺
I intend to write about them, talk about them and wait for Alidoro to be revealed. It seems like a good chance, considering the trailer.

I may have missed some detail, but I have a question. So who does Hugo find in the Relic of Trismegistus? A real Alidoro or a Parrot? Hugo knows that Alidoro we know is not the real one, but he says that he found the body of the real Alidoro. But where would a real Alidoro get clothes and weapons? Maybe I missed something after all...
#I LAUGHED OUT LOUD#poor Alidoro#I wonder how he would react to the fact that two people were wearing his clothes#lies of p#lies of p alidoro#lies of p parrot#lies of p hugo#lies of p meme

Ummmm... Guys. I have a crazy idea. What about Alidoro/Hugo? YES, IT SOUNDS CRAZY, BUT YOU KNOW, once again, when I hear Hugo's admiring phrases, when I see how this wonderful boy honestly took responsibility to continue Alidoro's work, sharing the views of his idol... Oh, it's just a thought, you know.
