on certain sad and errant corners of the internet where people don’t have eyes to see cathedrals, i’ve heard it suggested that in 2024, George and Alex weren’t as co-dependant as they were last year. i’m so happy to be here to set the record straight.

on literally the very first day of testing, they were FLIRTING up a storm on instagram when George reposted a video of the time he was Alex’s biggest fanboy at the age of nine for no reason at all, and Alex responded with a funny little joke. this was so unlike the normal stuff George posts that the only conclusion i can come to is that he was swept away in a moment of crazed yearning after seeing Alex again and he slipped into making a love confession on main.

luckily we had their mutual obsession confirmed the very next day when the FIA contrived to put them in the same press conference, and they made heart eyes on the couch for an hour straight.

alex zendaya laughing is something that can be so personal

at the start of the season, liberty media ALSO did Galex Nation a solid and put our guys (plus Lando) together for the 5 year anniversary of the original go karting video. can confirm it was chaos, but it was also very cute (especially when George was making them both look at his butt). other key moments include: Alex joking about George being his teammate at Williams (the darkest timeline version of my most cherished dream) and George predicting that Alex would get a podium in Monza (followed by Alex responding with a dismissive joke because the sincerity was too much for him).

as if that’s not enough, it was only the SECOND race of the year that George was breaking into the Williams garage AGAIN, and was caught in high definition pulling up his race suit after leaving Alex’s driver’s room. he tried to brush it off with a joke, but he was fooling NO ONE.

in March we also saw George wishing Alex a happy birthday on his stories! which is notable because last year, Alex wished George a happy birthday and this year George wished Alex a happy birthday, and never once (read: since my personal records began in 2022) have they both done a post. prayers up that they both remember 2025 because when they post photos of them as little babies i cry.  

in the middle of the season, we also got lots of George and Alex being individual menaces in a way that confirmed that they're soulmates, and we got beautiful driver’s parade moments in Japan, Imola, Barcelona and Spa PLUS another beautiful press conference in Japan. so we’re just going to take a little pause to look at them making heart eyes at each other.

if they're not in love, then why do they literally glow when they're together

now some people would say these next to entries in the year in review are crumbs, but to me they’re everything and i can’t leave them out. first, we had Alex congratulating George on his win in Austria on the cool-down lap and then the very next week, Alex gave George a little shoulder tap of congratulations after his pole in Silverstone. the Silverstone one in particular…. how George tries to act so cool, touching the brim of his little cap. help!

all those feel-good moments had to be balanced out by the most devastating moment of my life to date (aka when George lost his win in Spa). it was sooooo sad that even Alex was moved to sincerity, and he responded to George’s post with THREE RED HEARTS. i actually still can’t believe this happened. like not even a dry little joke…. just hearts. i couldn't have dreamed it in a million years.

our guys also went on documented gym dates, like the couple they are! after the highs and lows of Canada, they went on a cute lil run together and then after Monaco, George posted a cute little selfie with Alex in the background and made a joke soooo bad that Alex literally didn’t respond in any way. iconic.

in Baku, we got even more social media flirting, when Alex joked that they could podium together like they did in F2. i’ve always said Baku is for the lovers, and this was the proof! liberty media evidentially agreed with me, because they also got them to film the video that we now know was the GALEX COMPLIMENTS CHALLENGE.

the williams admin had to post the picture in two parts because the heart eyes were too much to contain in one jpeg

and look. the compliments challenge was obviously the biggest event of the year in the Galex-verse. every single second was the most important thing i had ever seen, and every second of it is seared into my skull. i won’t even try to recap it here because everyone should just go watch it again and then look at some of the beautiful gifs to relive each moment in a loop.

i try not to think about the end of the season too much because it hurts my feelings, but it wasn’t all bad! when Seb made the grid go on their annual arts and crafts day, George and Alex were joined at the hip, and while i was crying my eyes out in between quali and the race in Brazil, George was making Alex laugh on the parade bus like neither of them had a care in the world. George also brought up Alex in his post-quail interview for no reason at all other than he was going to take any chance he could to go to the mat defending his man!

the season ended with another beautiful parade bus moment as George did his absolute best clowning around to get Alex to laugh, and with the little tiny crumb of George praising Alex to Carlos (a likely place for him to be), and that’s where this walk down memory lane would’ve ended if it wasn’t for the Secret Santa video.

i knew it was going to be good when 30 seconds in, we already had George guessing with his whole chest that his present was from Alex because it was funny and clever and well wrapped and he’s thinking about Alex 24 hours a day, but i was NOT expecting the reveal that they both bought their secret santa the same present (padel voucher). to me, this is confirmation that even though they didn't talk about their presents beforehand, their soulmate status is so extreme (and they're both so committed to being menaces) that they got the same presents ANYWAY because they’re married and cohabitating and in love the end!!

once again i’d like to say thank you to all the gifmakers and writers and artists and askers and commenters who made this season so fun! i love you all, and i can’t wait for 2025, when surely George and Alex will kiss with tongue live on Sky TV. ETA 1/1/25: thank you to the beautiful anon in my inbox and all the people in the tags who pointed out i missed two CRUCIAL galex moments from the year.

on the silverstone episode of team torque, it transpired that alex HADN'T TEXTED GEORGE after his win in Austria, so live on camera, Alex texted him YABBADABBADO and completely ignoring the joke, George immediately replied "ha ha ha padel later?" like GIRL?? what do you MEAN?? he's down SO BAD? asking your crush to hang out when you aren't even in the same country?? i love love.

speaking of meme-able George moments, Alex ALSO said that he keeps up to date on all George jokes online and relays them to George at every opportunity. which confirms every prior i have about their relationship, thank god.

i *personally* believe these three would be very traditionally feminine so this is reflected in my choices again this is all according to my *personal* headcanon which might not be the same as yours and that’s ok.. and yes they wouldn’t be decked out in designer/editorial 24/7 they’re athletes so they’d most likely live in puma or nike tech or lululemon or something idk but if they made as much money as their canon counterparts they might as well serve cunt on a daily basis idc this is my blog and i make the rules

- warm autumn; lots of red obvi i don’t care that canonically charles’ favorite color is blue You’re Red Because I Say So

- i feel like she would get a little quirky and avant-garde with it… she does not have a single plain white tshirt it’s All statement pieces

- following up with the last point some of the cuter stuff i found were cropped tops and all that but i also wanted to pay homage to boy charles who’s a cozy mouse so we also have some cute sweaters in here for her..

- i feel like she’d (FOOLISHLY and BLASPHEMOUSLY) be self-conscious of her height so shoe-wise she’d do flats/oxfords/loafers/boat shoes (lol i know..) but if she *had* to wear something more formal she’d go with kitten heels

- bright spring; i stuck with purple/magenta/silver as the main colors on this moodboard for the sake of visual cohesion but i feel like her wardrobe would be much much much more colorful

- with this one i knewww i needed to step my pussy game up bc of who we’re dealing with… someone who knows Actual Fashion.. so i knew i could not for the life of me make something ugly or god forbid boring

- lots of fun glitzy glamour ! i had to physically restrain myself from not doing just cunty clubwear bc this is meant to be for present-day self-actualized crunchy granola lewis not old testament hooking-up-with-rihanna lewis.. ik that version of herself speaks to her like venom

15. A prediction for next year

i have some things to say about this matter bc i watch this sport with my family and you might know this but koreans in general are very superstitious 🧎‍♀️

just today my mom and i decided to type in drivers' birthdays in divination app and check the results... (there's this thing called 사주팔자; four pillars of fate or smth in english, it's from china but koreans are more obsessed with it. i think china banned it after their cultural revolution?) and boy williams racing team's next season is NOT looking good
