Today, November 13th, is the first ever World Pancreatic Cancer Day.

Did you know…

PC is terminal. We hope for miracles (because they do happen), but when diagnosed late, there is no beating this disease. 

PC patients are rarely diagnosed prior to finding it at Stage IV and it’s often referred to as the “silent killer” of cancers.

PC is the 4th leading cause in cancer related deaths in the US.

PC has the lowest survival rate out of all major cancers.

73% of those diagnosed will die within one year. 

Only 5% of PC patients have a five-year survival rate.

I had (10) beautiful months with my mother post diagnosis. She was diagnosed at Stage IV and the only reason it was detected (on Christmas Day 2013) was because we took her into the emergency room for what we thought was a kidney infection or digestive system blockage. If we had caught it sooner, perhaps she would have lived a bit longer. I don’t focus on why we didn’t find it until it was so established in her body because I’d rather give my energy to remembering the fantastic time we had. Anyway,please educate yourself about this particular kind and know the signs and symptoms to be on the lookout for.

Ke$ha is a perfect example of how the media loves to make intelligent girls seem dumb and bitchy even though they are actually smart and caring. Ke$ha isn’t far from being a feminist icon but the media continues to label her as a dumb drunk party girl.

and Ke$ha is all for loving yourself and equality but she continues to receive harassment from mainstream media. Enough harassment to the point that she developed an eating disorder because of it. She is an example of how horrible and sexist the music industry is.
