Caution satisfying post: My projector was not up to the task for this large wall. I normally dont use projectors because I think its cheating 😜but I thought I might need to due to the upcoming seasonal change but the weather cooperated so I hand lettered this wall. Spotted in its natural habitat.! I was sent this photo by a friend out biking. Making trails especially MTB trails in Squamish are kinda like the movie Fight Club. First the idea starts out in a dank basement (pub usually). Then the idea gathers strength and people join in to build it up. Eventually, the idea takes on an identity all its own and gets wildly accredited with more people wanting to join. The idea then becomes ideology/ corner stone of the community (heard of the trail Full Nelson?). I still don’t know where this sign is in reality. It lives in the forest in Squamish somewhere surprising people when they bushwhack up a mountain. Level 4.0 is here. Thank you for all the bday messages. This post is a tad late. A lil update- My boat re-power project has been a success after years of work. Just had a sea trial. Working on a handful of fun art events & projects this summer. Super stoked. Became a Federally approved Transport Canada certified Marine Operator. Known as a Masters Certificate. Yes, Captain Stan. Halfway through a real estate certification course. Looking forward to what this new role brings. I know we dont see each other much but know that you matter and I am happy to have you as a friend. Yesterday an old mural project in Squamish got hit with some less than profound low quality grafitti.. I have just been notified. I am working with the District of Squamish and the Arts Council to get it fixed up asap. I cant really even begin to express the struggle it was to even get this “under bridge area” legally sanctioned to mural paint, let alone get to paint it by myself and one other. I will fix it right Squamish. The DOS has lodged a complaint with the RCMP for the incident. Please direct any info in that direction. Please educate your kids that Murals and Graffitti/tag/ bombing are very different. Most writers respect the mural before throwing up some paint.
