Not many people mention it but if you have more than one farmer I like to headcanon that using the game chat is using telepathy between each other

I mean if you think about it... that's exactly what you're doing

This took WAY TOO LONG it was supposed to be a quick joke animation but I wanted to try to put more effort into it

I wanted to try out animating people AND MY GOD WAS THAT A MISTAKE

I’m sick so why not talk about what happens if the farmers get sick

Both of em sick? not much gets done on the farm feeding the animals is a must and watering plants is also needed so not much happening there and they both just force each other to stay in bed(I thought of sick cuddle pile because of the idea of them not letting each other get up-)

One of them? A lot of stuff gets done depending on who is sick femm is sick? Masc locks her in her own house/bedroom and does his best on farm stuff. masc is sick? Femm forces him to drink/eat medicine wether he likes it or not. It will be put in food like he’s a dog and honestly most tasks get done since masc is a lazy dude normally.

I absolutely love reading these!!! I like seeing yall's interpretations of the silly farmers and I like trying to build on it :D

I was sick not too long ago, sadly the inspiration for the farmers not taking care of themselves when they're sick is me 😅 (pro tip: don't try to walk it off)

worse is that my nose has begun to get runny so I might be getting sick AGAIN... :')

Both of them don't really know how to handle a sick person. Femm farmer is a little better at it but not by much since they rarely get sick.

If Femm is sick... Mask will combine a bunch of foods he can find or forage into a soup to get her to heal faster. Good thing both of them can eat pretty much everything! doesn't mean they'll like it though.

If Mask is sick...he will do everything in his power to escape. Locking the house is not enough. Mask hates wasting time in bed so he's actually quite the opposite of lazy, he's just not a fan of farming or socializing. Similar to Mask, Femm will try to give them all the medicine she has to get him better faster!

If they're both sick... yeah, nothing is getting done. They'll be too busy fighting each other on how to get better faster in the house and eventually... it's off to the clinic!

Maru is horrified by both of their methods.

Do you have any thoughts or headcanon about Marlon and Gil? Maybe about their interaction with your Farmers, or how the Farmers feel about the old adventurers? :D

For the Farmers and their dynamic with the old adventures:

Mask Farmer would have the strongest respect from both of them with him going to the mines daily no matter how dangerous! (gotta get that ore). With a focused and brave mind, Marlon and Gill are reminded of when they were younger and had that never-ending energy and hunger for the dangerous! Gill will never admit it... but he looks forward to seeing him walk into the Guild! Mask also enjoys talking to them from time to time.

Femm farmer has a harder time with Gill since she only mines during the winter, but she still tries to strike up a conversation to eventually gain his attention and respect. Marlon on the other hand favors her sometimes. When she's got spare time, Femm heads over to the adventures guild in hopes of hearing stories from back in the day to learn from them and connect better! Gill and Marlon do enjoy remembering the many near-death experiences and odd stories they lived. However, they both bicker over the details of who was a bigger chicken at that moment.

And for headcanons:

I still strongly stand with the idea that he's an arm amputee with the evidence I have and I haven't really seen anyone else draw him like that or headcanon it BUT I KNOW IM RIGHT, LOOK AT IT

That is a SUSPICIOUSLY short arm, THATS ALL IM SAYING

Any thoughts on the stardew valley mods? Like Ridgeside Village or Stardew Valley Expanded? I heard they both add a ton to the game.

I've seen snip bits here and there and I'm very curious to try it out! But with the recent update, it will take me a while to get to

But I've heard it does in fact add a lot! so once those are updated to 1.6. I'll go check them out!

popping in to say i am OBSESSED with your farmer interpretations. im not a big stardew valley fan (not bc of anything, its just not my sort of thing) but gahhhhhh. oh my god. that one painting comic and the background-music writing rattle around in my head so muchhh. they just scratch such a specific itch in my brain.

like. interacting with the world around you on such a different, alien level from anybody else- but not noticing or caring because its just what you've always seen the world as. it isnt scary, it doesnt completely warp your mind, it doesnt drive you to the brink of madness- its just normal. what the world is supposed to be.

it gives you advantages in some situations. but it also isolates you, in a subtle way. because you're different, 'biologically' (for lack of a better term), you cant see what people "should" see, or do what "normal" people should do. you will always just be a little off to people- just through your habits, which seem completely normal and logical to you- enough to put them on edge. its not enough to set anything bigger off, but it shows that you will always be different. you will never be like them, whether you want to or not.

..whoops. sorry for waxing poetic or whatever in your askbox lol i am just a very very big fan of this specific type of thing. anyways! thank you for making this specific interpretation that will probably haunt me for a bit. i hope you have a good day ^-^

And with the new update (no spoilers here) it seems that's what the game is encouraging you to be!

I like writing them in this way because it adds a wonderfully comedic depression to them! A subtle psychological horror I can use for drama later👀

I noticed the Farmer's quirks are only sometimes included in others' writing and only really included for comedic purposes. Still, I think the farmer's odd behavior can add to almost any situation if you know how to work with it!

In the way you made two sdv farmers because of the two genders I thought of them having a pair of cousins that live on an island , the animal crossing players , sometimes when they visit each other they fish, farm or ,if they specifically go to the island, catch bugs!

LMAO! Imagine if all the base gender video game characters were semi related 😂

I've actually never played Animal Crossing!

I remember when the pandemic happened it was really popular, I never got the chance to check it out

I play mostly on PC too so I haven't played many Nintendo video games either

Guess it's on the bucket list for now!
