LuDiva: Original Lunar Divination Cards

You ever try to learn tarot or oracle cards and feel like the deeper you go, the murkier everything becomes?

That was me. I wanted to learn divination card reading so badly. I grabbed a deck (yep, Rider Waite Smith...because what else do you start with?), opened a guidebook, and… felt like I was falling into a pit of fifty versions of the same card meaning...and the more I tried to get it right, the more uncertain I felt.

Everyone had a different take. Sources contradicted another. And I remember thinking: “Why isn’t there a deck that just speaks plainly...like it’s having a real conversation with me?”

And to top it off, I didn’t see me in the cards.

Not in the faces. Not in the style. Not in the energy. Most decks I found were so deeply rooted in Eurocentric imagery and old-school symbolism that I had to do mental gymnastics just to feel included in the reading. I didn’t want to fight for clarity every time I sat down to pull a card from the deck.

So, I made one.

I didn’t set out to create a product. I created something I needed...something that could walk beside me, not tower over me. I asked myself questions like:

💭 What do I actually want answers about?

💭 What would it feel like to see a card and just know what it meant?

💭 Could I make a deck that reflects real life, real emotions....me...and still has a touch of magic?

And slowly, card by card, LuDiva was born. Not as a rebellion, but as a reclamation. A way to make space where I didn’t see any.

This isn’t just a deck. It’s a lunar guided tool for clarity, created around intuitive language, subtle symbolism, and self reflection. It doesn’t try to impress you. It tries to understand you. LuDiva is built on lunar guidance, straightforward meanings, and visual representation that speaks to me...and hopefully, people like me. People who are tired of decks that feel like they weren’t made with us in mind. People who want their intuition honored, not tested.

It’s not just about diversity. It’s about connection.

Meet An Oracle - 4 The Mole

Name: The Mole

Why Is Journaling Important

When you are carrying out a tarot reading, keeping an account of your results can help you better understand how you read cards. I am not as consistent in this when I do readings for myself. I do journal the readings I perform for others and then mark their feedback from the reading though. I feel that having further insight into what may or may not have resonated helps me hone in one the cards I used.

What does this mean?

Imagine there is a card you lay out in a few readings. You might begin by going by the standard meaning of the card, but you start to see a pattern when you journal your readings. It seems like that card doesn't always seem to mean what the standard reading says and constantly points to something else when YOU use your cards. Does this mean that the standard interpretation is wrong? No, it just means that for YOU and the way YOU read, that meaning doesn't apply the same way.

Journaling can also help you see your progress. When I started my readings, they were kind of long. I would kind of ramble here and there because I wanted to explore all the avenues. I noticed as I flipped through my workbook, that my readings have gotten shorter and less chaotic. I have been able to focus what I need to say about what the cards are telling me over time!

There are many reasons to journal your readings. I like to have an account of the readnings I have done for people. I also rate how accurate the readings were. It sort of serves as a way for me to look back and gives me confidence in seeing how much I have grown!

🌑 What Inspired Me to Start Doing Readings

I decide to start doing readings because I enjoy helping people. It's something I have always found myself doing whether for family and friends, strangers on the street, even the jobs I've had.

I explored becoming a counselor or therapist, but my life is so busy that I would never be able to earn a degree in the amount of time needed to become fully licensed and such. I explored becoming an end of life doula, but there is no actual certification for that. I created an entire course on my own on Google Classroom. Then I let it sit for a little to see if I would come back to it. Sometimes I jump into things because I am excited about it so I let it simmer. I gave myself a start date.

While I was waiting, I started to investigate witchcraft...that's a whole other story. I was drawn to the empowerment, manifestation, connection, power, guidance, discovery...the magic. I looked into spells, rituals, and divination. I was definitely attracted to tarot cards. I had started in highschool, but had a crazy experience with witchcraft and let it be. Almost 3 score later and here I am again.

Anyways...

I tried using tarot cards, but it was a little overwhelming. I decided to create my own cards using my own meanings. I didn't know at the time that this was called an oracle deck. Using those cards, I was able to help my family and friends with questions they had using the tools I already have...my intuition, my connection to people, my connection to the universe!

Since that start I have created several more decks. Creating those decks has actually helped me understand the Rider Waite Smith deck much better now. All things happen for a reason and creating my own desks was what I needed to do first.

Now I can help people with my crafted tools as well as the traditional tools they are familiar with!

Charging Your Deck

There are many ways to charge your divination decks. My favorite way is using a selenite crystal. These crystals are self charging and are great for recharging the energy of your tools and objects!

I tend to either set more than one deck across a selenite bar or I place a selenite tower on top of the deck. Do you need to have different types of selenite shapes? Nope! You actually don't NEED selenite to charge anything, but if you want it and are able to, why not?

I feel like it also focuses my energy and attention on the charging process by using the crystal as a focal point when setting my energy intentions.

Though there are many ways to charge items, selenite is my favorite and preferred method!

LuDiva She's Back

If you didn't already know, I recently could not find LuDiva after a trip to my family's house. I set out a jar with labradorite, black obsidian and chamomile and asked her to find her way back and if she couldn't physically, if her essence would come to the jar and I would give her a new vessel.

A few days had gone by and then my family member calls and says they found her. Mind you, we all looked everywhere...me at my place and them at theirs.

I was pretty convinced that LuDiva left because I was gifted a new set of tarot cards at this point...my family thought the same. Anyway, they called me and said that right after they had gotten off the phone with me earlier, they eventually looked up and saw a small black bag on the kitchen counter. They investigated thinking maybe there were stones in the bag but quickly realized they were cards and then discovered...LuDiva!

I told them they could keep LuDiva if they wanted to. It seemed like that's where she wanted to stay. I was just happy that she was found and who better to have her than my family. ❤️

We still haven't found out who put her on the kitchen counter since it had been days since she was lost...and then found...

My family and friends...well I am going to have to make sure I work out any issues or situations I have with them..and I can...cuz my relationship card is one of success and accomplishments!

Next month I need to make sure not to get in my own way in my personal growth!

My First Impressions of The Hanged One

You...you've got guts, man. So you're just gonna hang there, by one ankle looking like it's another day in the park? Like for real, if it weren't for the rope and the whole being upside down, you'd look like you are just leaning back on a wall relaxing.

Okay Hanged One. When most people would be freaking out, you are totally fine with what ever happens? Like, what if that rope breaks? Whoever tied that knot, you must REALLY trust them.

That halo is either realization that you are where you are and maybe this isn't a great thing OR maybe you've had an enlightening moment in this situation you are in.

My First Impression of the King of Swords

Sitting on his throne looking at you. He's holding his sword. It's not raised, but it's not lowered. He is a big deal compared to the world around him. His gaze doesn't have much feeling. He's just looking at you with no emotion. This guy is going to give it to you straight. If you want the truth, he's going to give it to you, but you are going to have to be ready to listen.
