Tekken character vignette pt. 2

Characters: Nina, small Anna cameo

She didn’t know how she was able to do any of this. How she could sneak around unseen in the facility she found herself in; how she knew the exact joints and points in a body to put pressure into to incapacitate or kill; how she felt, instinctually, that the place she was in was hostile, that she needed to make her escape as quickly as possible.

She did not know her name or what she looked like, the wobbly reflection on steel items she passed by barely gave her an idea.

Her only memory is that of her waking up in a glass chamber as it drained of a strange liquid. Once her unsteady legs could carry her, she exited the machine to look around. A similar machine stood next to the one she previously occupied. She couldn’t see what was inside clearly but caught drifting brown hair strands inside. Before she could investigate further, a noise alerted her of someone coming. She hastily made her exit.

She shook the memory off and focused on mechanically ripping off the armor from the unmoving body of the security guard that she caught unaware earlier. After putting them on, she stuffed the mangled body under a table and exited the storage room.

As she made her way through the corridor and closer to freedom, her mind was filled with the memory of short brown hair, the image making her hackles rise.

Tekken character vignette pt. 1

Characters: Kazumi, Kazuya.

Word count: 165.

Kazuya is asleep when Kazumi slips into his room in the middle of the night. Her child looks peaceful in sleep.

Kazumi kisses his forehead. She looks fondly at her son, tracing her fingertips on his face, her own bearing a brittle smile. Her fever spikes prevented her from seeing her little angel for the past few days.

As she goes to the door to make her leave, a quiet rustle stops her.

“Mom?” the question comes out uncertain, she looks back to see Kazuya sitting up, rubbing sleep from his eyes.

“Go back to sleep, dear. You need it for the morning training,” she hears herself say. Kazuya looks confused but nods drowsily, and lays back in his futon.

Her hands shake as she closes the shoji door, knowing that if she gives in to her desire to go back and gather him in her arms, she would waver.

Her fists tighten, she has a mission to complete. It was a long time coming.

wanted to put a side by side comparison of this part of lee and nina's special intro cause it's interesting noting lee's different expressions depending on the side that you catch it on.

there's a split second where his face in the first one is furious. it feels like this is the first time we see lee show such emotion in a while, the closest being his intro with kazuya. it makes me wonder if this interaction is a charade and he's hiding what he truly thinks of her.

...or maybe it's just a simple case of her getting on his nerves by implying the impossibility of him beating her. he is still a mishima through and through and putting his strength into question is something that might hit close to home, especially with the upbringing he had.

it's also funny to contrasts this with nina's intro with eddy, where she's the actively teasing one. she really is still sore that lee got the upper hand on her in t7 haha. i guess he did put a blemish in her track record as a corporate head second in command, and she's never going to forgive that.

i like this playful side to nina that rises when she encounters eddy. it feels almost like how she would act around anna in somr of the old games.

definitely somethting her character needs in the absence of anna as a foil for her and her autonomy as a character stripped away for her to be the current mishima big bad’s right hand.

crossing my fingers for a nina and steve encounter but i don’t have much hope as it seems that plotline has been closed off after t7.

this has been specified to be only an extra chapter and the chapters in the story mode of t8 aren’t really that long so i’m not sure what to expect, maybe three or so fights at most.

so eddy is leading the remainder of the tekken force? is he the new defactor leader of the mishima zaibatsu now?

i'm going to assume he's defending the mishima compounds seen in the midnight siege stage from g corp attacks. i was wondering what was left of the mishima zaibatsu was doing during the t8 story, so this is interesting to me

another thing of note is the tekken force soldier accompanying him in the last screenshot, as he's wearing armor with different colors from the rest of the soldiers, it resembles the "shriek" class of tekken force soldiers introduced in t6 and carried into tekken mobile

if we're back to color-coded tekken force soldiers' ranking that would be nice, it was something I missed in recent games
